Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous Fried Chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

Executive Chef Joe Reid joins Hudson’s with more than 20 years of culinary experience under his belt. Joe grew up in the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from the Western Culinary Institute, Joe started at a 4 diamond steakhouse in Lake Tahoe. He then moved back to the NW and began his culinary career as a Banquet Chef at the Multnomah Athletic Club. Since then, he has worked in various positions at multiple restaurants including Morton’s The Steakhouse, Salishan Lodge and Brand Chef at Stanford’s. He has a passion for mentoring his team and helping them reach their full potential.

We've eaten at Hudson's numerous times, so we knew what to expect. This time was no different. The host greeted us, our table was waiting, and our server was extremely friendly without hovering over us. The meal was spectacular (as always), and the setting is excellent. It was our anniversary, and our host and server both congratulated us. It's a 45 minute drive each way, but for sure we'll eat there again, and we highly recommend Hudson's.

My wife and I have had dinner or brunch at Urban Farmer several times over the years. It’s always been good, but our meal this most recent visit was likely the best we’ve had there. It was good to see the restaurant full again after some lean years during the pandemic. It was a perfect balance of refined food, professional but unpretentious service, and a great atmosphere.

Kind staff, clean and tidy interior, quickly served and delicious foods. Server made it clear what options were available as well as happy hour, with updates on options not available at the moment. Great experience before heading off to our show at Portland center stage
