About the restaurant

Chefs Patrick Pham and Daniel Lee have over 25 years of combined experience in Japanese cuisine and sushi. They established their culinary careers in Houston where they worked together for years before creating their own restaurants.

Pham and Lee teamed up to bring new curated dining concepts to Houston’s food scene and kicked off a series of omakase pop-up dinners called Secret Taste. Pham and Lee then opened Kokoro in the Bravery Chef Hall in Downtown Houston followed by Handies Douzo in the Houston Heights.

Aiko is the newest concept from the team featuring a sushi bar and seated dining.

We celebrated my wife birthday. The food and service are extraordinary. Our server, Trinity was very attentive . The sushi is very fresh. The manager came to our table to greet us. Excellent experience.

Liberty Kitchen at The Treehouse located in Memorial City, joins the neighborhood as a local restaurant serving modern, American food. Diners can see our chefs as they work the open flames cooking steaks, chops, ribs and fish. The inclusion of the grill has greatly influenced the menu – dishes made in cast iron Dutch ovens and an international selection of craveable Southern Coastal cuisine. The food is bold in flavor and rich in textured layering with a twist on tradition, the flickering flames lend a pleasant invitation to settle in to the space, relax and quite simply, eat.

Some of the favorite Liberty Kitchen staples are on offer such as the Creole Whole Crab, Shrimp and Andouille Gumbo, R&D Test Kitchen: Infamous Burger Bowl, Deviled Eggs and Lance’s Loaded Hushpuppies (The Real Original) served Liberty Kitchen gorilla-style. Daily Chef Special’s are not to be missed.

Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette (LKRO) prides itself in it’s Oyster Bar. The multiple use seating at and around the Oysterette is inviting and friendly. The huge oyster, fresh seafood and whole fish display showcases seasonality and the vastness of the seafood offerings at LKRO. A traditional Japanese Robata Grill and a vertical 'Trompo' Grill are part of the Oysterette’s flexibility in a small space making the 'mini-kitchen' capable of producing freshly shucked oysters, grilled oysters, sushi, seafood towers and fresh carved tacos.

Moving into the main kitchen, the menu is just as wide and deep with a variety of local and regional seafood dishes and local Texas Beef. Our desire, as always, is to have a little something delicious for everyone and a menu for every palate as well as daily and weekly special features inspired by the bounty of available produce, meats and seafood in the Gulf Coast and beyond.

In Autry Park, MF Lobster & Ceviche is Houston's only completely round restaurant. The menu features fresh lobster, delivered daily from Maine, and a variety of seasonal ceviches. Our overall experience was great. We dined her to celebrate our youngest daughter’s12th birthday. A supervisor or manger can’t remember but she was super warm and welcoming. She engaged my daughter when we walked in and also at the table. She noticed that a huge party was seated directly behind us which could have caused the servers to bump into our seats and disturb us during dinner. She walked over to us to let us know that she was moving us because she wanted us to have a trouble free experience. Her thoughtfulness made a huge impression before before our meal or drinks. Our drinks: My daughters ordered a Shirley temple, and the pineapple mojitos that they enjoyed. I enjoyed the expresso martini which was a little sweet for me but it still taste great. My husband had the royal sidecar which he said was strong but sidecars are typically strong but good drinks. Appetizers: Chef Crafted Chargrilled Oysters w/ Garlic butter and Parmesan were seasoned well but a bit dry (I’m a New Orleans Native so I may be biased here). The Chesapeake Bay Style Crab Cakes were unexpectedly huge lots of lump crab meat no fillers so good! The Spicy Tuna Poke was so good. Entrees: Shellfish mixed Grill (x2) was good per the girls. My husband had the 10 oz Center Cut Filet Mignon with an added lobster tail. The first steak was overcooked but they took it back and provided a medium steak he said it was meh and the lobster was good. I had the Lobster Thermidor which was so tasty I didn’t share. The lobster fried rice was spicy but good to 2 out of 4 people at the table. The Parmesan Truffle fries was gone in 5 minutes the black garlic aioli sauce made it exceptional! Dessert: We had Baked Alaska. The presentation was unexpected. My daughter loved that it was set ablaze. The meringue and chocolate cake was so good, the ice cream was made with peppermint but that’s not my thing. Since it was my daughter’s cake and her opinion matters her she devoured the entire cake and loved it.
