The introductions of brunch, live music, cocktails, and now an extensive happy hour continue the newest culinary chapter for a storied local haunt, embracing New Orleans’ culinary culture while placing contemporary spin on traditional New Orleans cuisine.

We had another great meal at Atchafalaya. Friends from Indiana joined us for our 41st anniversary dinner. After gumbo starters for two diners, we moved on to the main courses. Two of us had the scallops special; one had shrimp and grits; and the fourth had the redfish special. For dessert, we shared the lemon tart and the bread pudding. The food was delicious, as usual, and our server Heather Dawn (known as HD) was friendly and efficient. She was there when we needed her, but wasn’t intrusive. She kindly upgraded us to a better bottle of red wine than we ordered, and that was much appreciated. We look forward to returning soon.
