La Jolla
About the restaurant
Named after La Jolla’s popular Open Aire Farmer’s Market, Bistro du Marché allows chef Diot to work closely with farmers to incorporate the finest local flavors into his dishes. Led by Cheffe Amélie Gadoum, Bistro du Marché incorporates quality ingredients and rigorous French technique. Signature dish includes Wild Mushroom Ravioli in Port wine Sauce. One of the specialties: Un Coq au Vin "Ivre de Bourgogne" Organic Chicken Braised in Red Wine Sauce, Yukon Gold Mashed Potato, Carrot, Mushrooms.

Bistro du Marché is based on the culinary concept of “bistronomie”, that emerged in Paris. Bistronomie, is a play on words on the concepts of “bistro” and “gastronomie”. It is a form of French cuisine that emphasizes the blending of haute gastronomic expertise, seasonality, and the traditional “cuisine de terroir” found in bistros across France. The youthfulness of the bistronomie movement has succeeded in reinvigorating French classic cuisine, and raised the bar of traditional French bistros.

Some of our menu highlights include caviar served with sea urchin flan and eggplant sour cream to wagyu tartare with roasted bone marrow and steak with cherry-mezcal bordelaise, creamed pearl onions, and pommes paillasson.

We also feature a wide Wine selection as well as an unique cocktail selection with revisited classics.

This is our second time eating at Wormwood and we love it. They specialize in small dishes so you can order many different things. We don't even bother with an entree. Everything we had was delicious. It is quite loud and crowded inside, so I would recommend eating outside.

5 of my women friends went to see RESPECT at Lamb's Players and came to Little Frenchie's for lunch before the play. The food and service were excellent. One had the nicoise salad which was beautiful. 3 of us had the quiche, which was more than2 inches high and cooked perfectly. We'll come again!

Bleu Boheme surpassed our every expectation and ranks as one of the finest French restaurants we have experienced, even in Paris and the Dordogne. Among the fine offerings we savored were beef bourguignon, escargot, the house salad, and the classic onion soup. The beef dish was remarkably tender, with an expressive sauce and tasty mushrooms, pearl onions, and vegetables. The escargot were presented with just the right balance of buttery sauce and garlic. The soup boasted a hearty flavor with the perfect and not overpowering blend of cheese and bread. The salad was a rich mix of greens, beets, slivered almonds, and fruit. To celebrate our anniversary the chef treated us to a delightful chocolate mousse to cap off this memorable first visit. We shall most definitely return to sample more of the unique offerings of Bleu Boheme.
