Evan was a great server! The atmosphere is fun and the food is incredible. It’s very very expensive, but definitely recommend for celebrations or if you can afford to spend $300 pp for dinner.

La Jolla
About the restaurant
Named after La Jolla’s popular Open Aire Farmer’s Market, Bistro du Marché allows chef Diot to work closely with farmers to incorporate the finest local flavors into his dishes. Led by Cheffe Amélie Gadoum, Bistro du Marché incorporates quality ingredients and rigorous French technique. Signature dish includes Wild Mushroom Ravioli in Port wine Sauce. One of the specialties: Un Coq au Vin "Ivre de Bourgogne" Organic Chicken Braised in Red Wine Sauce, Yukon Gold Mashed Potato, Carrot, Mushrooms.

Bistro du Marché is based on the culinary concept of “bistronomie”, that emerged in Paris. Bistronomie, is a play on words on the concepts of “bistro” and “gastronomie”. It is a form of French cuisine that emphasizes the blending of haute gastronomic expertise, seasonality, and the traditional “cuisine de terroir” found in bistros across France. The youthfulness of the bistronomie movement has succeeded in reinvigorating French classic cuisine, and raised the bar of traditional French bistros.

All staff are great and the food and atmosphere are excellent! Shout out to our server Nam, who were lucky enough to have serve us twice. He’s very attentive and even made special cocktails for my wife and I. Going above and beyond made our experience extraordinary. Thanks to all!

The only thing I didn’t like was the waygu burger. It was over cooked. Everything else we tried and order was spectacular. I’d definitely recommend the ceviche. All of them. The coconut shrimp was also good.

Our new San Diego home is located in the Carez Hizar House (circa 1889), a Coronado historical landmark on Loma Avenue almost at the corner of Orange Avenue. We are within walking distance to beautiful downtown Coronado, the Hotel Del Coronado, and the beach. A French inspired bistro where people feel comfortable and enjoy fresh rustic fare at reasonable prices. We started the evening in the bar where Rashid served us two delicious cocktails. We adjourned to the dining room which was a small room with a table by the window. Very romantic. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Rashid was also our server. He was very friendly & helpful with the menu. We had scallop crudo, beet salad, halibut & lobster ravioli. The seafood was fresh, delicious & prepared perfectly. I especially liked that the lobster was on top of the ravioli & not hiding inside. We finished the evening with creme brûlée. I have been wanting to go to Chez Loma for years & it did not disappoint. Highly recommended!
