St. Helena
About the restaurant
Specializing in elegant but straight-forward Northern Italian cuisine, created from local and seasonal ingredients.

A family-owned business, Cook St. Helena, is a neighborhood establishment through and through that continues to bring people together around fresh, handmade, delicious food in a warm, casual atmosphere. We opened Cook in 2004 to show the locals and tourists alike that food does not need to be complicated to taste great!

We celebrated our 31st anniversary last night and had a wonderful time! Started with the delicious Calamari (we both love calamari and Cook does a fantastic job). I ordered the gnocchi with the Gorgonzola cream sauce, absolutely divine and my husband had the pasta with Bolognese sauce which was also wonderful. Didn’t have room for dessert, but the options looked phenomenal. And the music in the background was amazing, I knew every song! Our waitress was kind, described all the specials, made sure we had everything we needed and made great suggestions. I really wanted to have Italian food because we met at an Italian restaurant (I was a waitress at the time). Please send our apologies to our waitress for almost leaving without paying—we are getting very tired from our job with 12-14 hour days, on our feet the whole day. Hopefully she understands. We do try to come there every month or two, the food there is always fantastic and the place is so wonderful! We will be back again and again!!!

Russian Hill
About the restaurant
Frascati is a Mediterranean style bistro, located in one of San Francisco’s most desirable neighborhoods – Russian Hill. When a guest walks through the door of Frascati, he or she is initially treated to a friendly and comfortable dining room. Frascati encompasses a truly European aura, but is also a cozy, San Francisco neighborhood bistro. This tri-level restaurant features warm colors, high ceilings, antique light fixtures and street views of cable cars clanging up and down Hyde Street. The natural light and energetic atmosphere all convey a lively spirit.

Our cuisine is inspired from the Mediterranean coast and has strong Californian influences. The menu shifts frequently to utilize the best and freshest ingredients any season has to offer. Also, we pride ourselves on all of our house made desserts and ice creams.

Of equal importance, Frascati has become known for having an eclectic wine list which nicely complements the food.

Saved airfare to Rome & on to Inspector Montelbano’s beach town of Punta Secca, Sicily. An unforgettable meal that will remain on the tastebuds for years to come & in my dreams … especially the Burrata, the petrale sole piccata, the Osso Buco, the ricotta cannoli. My only regret … could only eat ONE cannoli after this delicioso feast. Cannot wait for our next visit to Sonoma.
