This is hands-down one of the best Thai restaurant we've visited in the Bay Area. The location and the setup is cozy and homely. There is ample parking around. Interiors are charming, profoundly Thai, without being ostentatious. The hostess and the restaurant team is friendly and caring. Most importantly, the food is delicious and the right portions. We'd the lobster tail, spicy chicken in basil, shrimp in noodle and the chicken satay. Cocktails are also nicely done and some have a unique Thai touch. This is a place we will keep visiting with friends and family.

Thai
Financial District / Embarcadero
About the restaurant
Hed serving "Khao gaeng" is a typical way of eating a quick meal in Thai culture. Within one single meal--and oftentimes with only one plate--you get to taste different dishes with flavors and textures that complement themselves. Rice sits in the center, and a small portion of 2-3 stir-fries, soups, curries or fried items are served alongside. Hed presents this unique culture with our tri-colors rice from Thailand, an appetizer, a stir-fry, a curry, a fried item, a variety of sauces and seasonal ingredients

Excellent cocktails (Thai Girl and the Unknown) and the shrimp appetizer was exceptional. My Cab Sav wine by the glass was warm, but my husband's pilsner was wonderful. We ordered 2 specials, a whole Branzino and a Basil dish w/ assorted proteins. Both were good. the fish was well cooked, but the sauce was pretty overpowering and the veggies were mainly celery. The basil dish was very flavorful. We will return and order from the main menu next time.

Really great food as always (perfect green and yellow curries, delcioius apps), nice ambience on patio. Service a little slower (seems to be the usual here), but still worth the experience, because the food is lovely. Nice wine list - great menu!
