Simon Pearce Restaurant
Reservations are not accepted for lunch.
This was the second night I went to Simon Pearce and the food and service were delicious! I had the salmon entree and maple creme brûlée. Everything was cooked to perfection!
My husband and I brought our adult children there for dinner. We did a little shopping first!
It was a wonderful evening. We loved dining in the room that overlooks the river. The service was great and we enjoyed our meals.
Great restaurant. Food was pretty good. The vibe was even better. Glass shop downstairs was really cool.
We have been to this restaurant before and it was usually good.
This time the service was very slow. Other diners we getting their meals before us. The appetizer was good but only warm in temperature when it should have been hot. We told out server about that. Then our main course arrived and the same thing happened. Both were warm but not hot. They offered us a gift certificate for a future visit, but we declined. I was sad because we always had great meals there but I fear they have grown too big too quickly.
Fabulous food and amazing service - all with a spectacular view and you can shop before or after dinner! Such a great!! Will definitely go back!!
Special wife date
The food was excellent. I enjoyed the winter seared salmon as a main course and it was a beautiful dish, perfectly executed. My waitperson, Suzanne, was polished and friendly. A lovely dining experience.
Simon Pearce is still a special destination, especially if you can come during the day in spring, summer, or fall because of its setting/location, and of course, the gorgeous glassworks. We had not been for almost 20 years, but the ambiance and levels of service (superior and graceful but never stuffy) were still there. The menu selections and wine list also continue to be first rate. The food was good and artfully presented (is that not a trend in itself that is getting a bit stale?), but not as mind-blowingly good as remembered. The Vermont Cheddar soup was "okay." The baguette and grain bread served were forgettable. I had the rack of lamb special and my companion had the sirloin. Portions were somewhere between Nouvelle and now (why skimp on the sides?). Certainly great for a special occasion and 3-4 stars overall, but I think there are more creative flavorful and satisfying dishes to be had in newer places.
Our appetizers and food were very good. We were disappointed that our dinners took and hour and a half to come out.
The food was delicious the service was fast and the waitstaff were friendly. Worth every penny.
Whenever we vacation in the Woodstock and Quechee area, we make a reservation at Simon Pearce Restaurant. We are never disappointed. The setting is warm, comfortable and cozy, the food amazing! The gnocchi and cheddar soup appetizers were tasty and the lamb and venison entrees were superb. The servers are friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to mix a special drink at my husband’s request. Strolling the shop before or after dinner is a must. You may even catch some glass blowing while visiting.
This was our second time visiting Simon Pearce, and it was just as amazing as the first time. The food was outstanding, and our waitress was absolutely phenomenal! Our daughter is a vegetarian, and the vegetarian entree included cauliflower, which our daughter doesn’t like. So, we asked our waitress if there was anything else she could do. She took the menu and went through all of the vegetables they offered in other dishes to see what our daughter liked. The chef tailored her plate to our daughter’s tastes and she ate it all! It was so nice to eat at a place that goes above and beyond to satisfy its customers. Thank you, Simon Pearce! We will definitely be back!
Menu provided a nice variety of options, and the anniversary wishes extended with our dessert was a special and appreciated touch.
While the views and ambiance were great, I was disappointed with the food. My wife and I had high hopes for our entrees, salmon and braised beef short rib, but neither of us were impressed, especially given the price of the food and reputation of the establishment.
Our main courses aside, we had a very pleasant evening. The bread was delicious and my wife liked the cheddar soup. The service was very good and it was nice to walk around the glass store, though the glass blowing workshop was temporarily closed for repair on the day we visited. Would recommend this place for lunch, when you really soak up the beauty of the waterfall.
Stephanie, our server, was excellent, as were the food and drinks. Everything tastes better in Simon Pearce glassware!
It was wonderful. Such a cozy winter spot. Nice lighting, great wine, friendly servers.
This is always a great place to eat. The atmosphere is one of the best you can have at any Resturaunt.
I was celebrating a birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better meal. The food was delicious, service was spectacular, and drinks were great. Would recommend to anyone.
As always, the service and food was exceptional at Simon Pearce, the ambiance warm and welcoming
We had always heard good things about Simon Pearce and we were not disappointed. Our seating request was honored ( to be away from the kitchen) and our location was a nice one that was quiet despite the restaurant being full. Our food (cheddar soup for two of us, duck, salmon and short rib for entrees) was all very well done and the service was attentive, but never intrusive. Food came at just the right times and we never felt rushed, nor did we have to wait. We will be going back for sure.
Lovely location, extensive wine selection, excellent food. We greatly enjoyed the sirloin and also the beef short rib (brisket). Service was attentive but not 'in the way'. We were especially pleased that the restaurant was able to let us borrow some reading glasses, because one of us had forgotten hers and couldn't read the menu... so Simon Pearce obviously knows it's clientele. We had a very pleasant evening and would recommend Simon Pearce to anyone who enjoys fine dining.
Excellent experience. Would like the menu to have a few more entree options.
We will come back for sure!
Amazing! Bought tons of stuff in the shop and ate like a king!
One of our favorite places to visit in New England!
Our experience was excellent. We went to SP the Friday after Valentine's day (to avoid the rush on Valentine's) and the ambience at the restaurant was wonderful. The waiters put us at an optimal table where we could see both the covered bridge and the waterfall. The food was delectable - we had the bread as a starter, followed by the gnocchi, sumac carrots, the prime sirloin, the seared cod, and the panna cotta. Each of the dishes paired perfectly together and we were delighted with the combination of flavors. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the shop and watching the glass blowing downstairs before being seated at our table. Throughout the evening, the waitstaff was kind, welcoming, and warm. Our waitress was kind enough to bring us a second order of bread before the meal to tide us over until our orders got to the table. In all, we loved every aspect of the evening, from the food to the setting to the kind people we interacted with at the restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful evening out!
Great meal, great service!
The staff at Simon Pearce are friendly and welcoming yet unobtrusive. Our meal from start to finish was outstanding.
Fantastic meal and a beautiful setting. More than lived up to its reputation.
This was our 2nd Valentines day and we were wowed again. We arrived early and only waited 5 minutes before the original time and we seated in the room above the water. It was wonderful. The only problem we had was that our table was very wobbly so we had to continuously have one of our arms holding the table or pur drinks would have probably spilt all over. Other than that the night was perfect and our waiter Keith was excellent!!!
Valentine’s Day dinner
Food, service, and ambiance are fantastic. I’ve gone a few times now and don’t seem to be impressed by the wines they sell by the glass though.
We have been coming for years and it just gets better. The music was a nice touch, need more of that...
We were there for my husbands birthday dinner. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was exceptionally good. We had a window seat with a great view. We look forward to going back again.
Good food and service and a very nice place to eat. Our favorite.
My wife and I stay in Woodstock every year and we always tell people we meet to go to Simon Pierce. Great place. Thank you.
This dinner was not as great as my first one. Maybe I just had high expectations. There wasn’t anything necessarily bad about this visit, it just wasn’t as great as the first. Food was tasty, but not amazing... dessert wasn’t anything special. Bread was lacking, and I feel like a place like this should have amazing bread! Also I felt like our salads and entrees came out too quickly. I would still recommend and probably go back (maybe to the bar side)!
Excellent food and service. Beautiful atmosphere, hope to make it back again!
