Food and service was awesome! Great view of river!
Lovely dinner in a beautiful setting. Wonderful attentive service.
It is always a memorable event to eat at Simon Pearce. We had a wonderful meal on a glorious June evening.
Beautiful space - great service (very accommodating to dietary restrictions).
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Always good and beautiful surroundings.
Lovely restaurant and wonderful food. Worth the pretty drive
Our evening could not have been better....good food , well presented. Attentive , friendly staff. Beautiful setting. What we have come to expect and not disappointed!
Our waitress helped us pick a good bottle of wine. Thank you they have a very extensive wine list. We had rack of lamb. Excellent. Our waitress keep a watch over us to make sure we where we’ll tAken care of. We had a privat window seat. An enjoyable fatherS. DAY. DINNER THANK YOU
This nicely situated dining room has lovely water views from large picture windows. The bar is quite stunningly appointed with beautiful light fixtures. All of this adds to the pleasure of dining here. If only the cuisine matched the ambience. While this restaurant is surely well above average, small defects kept it from being top-drawer:
1. the plated food arrived with varying temperature. While the vegetables, for instance, were properly served warm to hot, the entree - in this case a filet mignon - arrived cool. Potatoes described as "gaufrette" arrived as cold waffle-fries - basically potato chips. They were not described as such by the menu or the server. The too-cool filet- despite its temperature - tasted good.
2. On the plus side, when one of our party found his N.Y. sirloin steak to be unusually tough, the sympathetic waitron quickly replaced it with an excellent duck dish that proved the best entree our table had ordered.
3. The service was excellent and friendly throughout the evening, so really, the only problem was the inconsistency of entree temperature.
4. Desserts, while a bit expensive, as were everything else, were well made and delicious.
5. In sum, for a bill that totalled over $500 with tip for a party of four, I expect things to be almost perfect. And, they were, to a point. But I know that this kitchen and chef can - and should - do better than what we experienced.
6. Superb wine list, btw. Many excellent choices, but buyer beware. Some selections were 300+% above retail!
The food was amazing! And we had a nice virw of the waterfall and covered bridge
We dined here on our Honeymoon and had exceptional food and service. We were lucky enough to have a table overlooking the falls.
Everything went well but we asked for a window seat and we’re not seated by a window
I have dined at Simon Pearce for years and yes, this was a busy weekend but I feel that the food was good but not great. We had an enjoyable dinner but we did not walk away from the restaurant 100% satisfied.
My wife and I always enjoy dining at Simon Pearce whether it is at the bar (now with the full dining menu!) or in the restaurant. We live close by which causes us the danger of temptation to come more often. We always enjoy the food and the portions are just right. The drink specials are always a wonderful mix and having local distillers and brewers available is wonderful for locals like us. Professional and personable staff that we enjoy seeing each time we are there.
First let me start I think Simon Pearce is one of my favorite restaurants. The food, atmosphere, service is top notch. My husband and I had planned an anniversary dinner for my in-laws… I specifically wrote that in the notes here on OpenTable. I requested a window seat, when I called the day before to check in regarding that they told me it was first come first serve. In the past I’ve written the note for my own anniversary , bachelorette dinner, and birthday and have gotten A window seat. This was also the balloon festival weekend and I wanted my in-laws to see everything they could. We were placed at a table where we could see someone of a window view but it was across the way, after the hostess and maître d’ had told me that only early seating’s got the window seats… When we got to the table the couple next to us at the window I just finished and got up. I am not sure why we weren’t moved over there, we had a 615 reservation we arrived at 6:10. I thought the notes in this section were supposed to be read by the restaurants?
We would’ve been much happier waiting for that table 10 minutes 15 minutes at most and gotten the window sleep… It was a long while until the next couple was seated in that window seat. The table was big enough for a party of four.
Seven Pierce again is one of my top restaurants for the specific reason I do like a very good meal cooked by an amazing chef, impeccable service… Knowledge everything. But today this review reflects on how we were treated, the whole service experience was not up to par.
Here we wanted to show my in-laws how amazing it was & That did not happen .
Again I made the reservation several weeks in advance so it wasn’t last minute .
33th anniversary!! Also many times eating at Simon Pearce with family and friends especially, my beloved mother loved Simon Pearce.
We will definitely come back on our next trip to VT. Service was excellent - entire staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was AWESOME - cooked to perfection and amazingly good. Makes me want to move to VT!!!
One of our favorite places. Always great experience. Love how the restaurant menu is available at the bar/lounge area. Now, wish you could get the bar menu at the restaurant dining room. Other then that...IT’S AWESOME!
Fabulous as usual.
Our compliments to the location, the chef, Joanne the manager and Rose our waitress. What a phenomenal time, food and location. Oh yeah, thank you Simon Pearce for the glass
and environment. We will be back.
The ambience was wonderful, our table was by a window overlooking the waterfall. It was fun using the glassware that we knew had been created right downstairs, then being able to wander into the store and purchase glassware. The food was amazing! I had the duckling which was cooked perfectly, i.e. the skin was very crisp and the meat was tender and not greasy. My companions had the pork tenderloin and the halibut special and loved both. I appreciated the emphasis on fresh local ingredients so I loved the Vermont cheese platter appetizer. For dessert we shared the polenta cake with locally made organic vanilla ice cream, blueberries, and candied orange slice, a great combo of flavors and textures. Service was attentive without being intrusive. My companions liked their wines and I, in keeping with my Vermont experience, had the sparkling cider. It was sweeter than I expected so not really best for a meal, but it was great with the cheese platter.
I cannot unfortunately remember our servers name but she was really fantastic! Food is always great here and the views incredible. Chefs here are top notch.
The entire experience was outstanding. I was travelling alone so I was a single diner. Despite this, they gave me a superb table overlooking the falls. Rare to get such a nice table when I am alone. It positively set up the rest of the experience. I had the burrata salad with roasted tomatoes and ramp pesto for an appetizer. It came with garlic toasted bread slices--delicious. For the main, I had the crispy duckling--really wonderfully prepared with very nice flavor combinations and textures. Dessert was the warm chocolate cake with ice cream and warm cherries--very good. I only had a glass of wine which was nice, but looked at the bottle list and saw a nicely selected range with decent prices. I would seek this restaurant as a lovely destination if ever in the area again.
Always love Simon Pearce, one of the best restaurants in New England. Ask for a table overlooking the waterfall!
Wonderful restaurant. Staff is exceptionally considerate and nice
Awesome birthday dinner for my wife. They treated us very well and set us up at a great secluded table with a waterfall view!
We had a wonderful evening celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary. I highly recommend.
Simon Pearce is the best restaurant in the area and there are some terrific ones. The views of the river and the falls from the dining rooms are extraordinary. The service is the best in the Upper Valley. The food is wonderful. It is slightly more expensive than the other places in the area but well worth the cost.
Wendy is Wonderful!
Very good service. Yummy food but everything we ordered as a bit sweeter than expected.
Great as always!
Server bordered on being rude and seemed extremely disinterested in her job. The other servers we saw at tables next to us were very friendly and engaged with customers. Our meals were great and the room had a nice ambience. I had requested a window seat, anticipating a seat with a water view. We were sat at a table in the inner dining room next to a window which overlooked the waterside tables.
We had a fantastic time at the Simon Pearce restaurant. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and our server could not have been better. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We enjoyed our dinner at Simon Pearce last Friday evening tremendously. Our dinner choices were inventive and tasty, using vegetables in a creative manner. The dining room is spacious and comfortable, accommodating a number of diners without becoming noisy. The service was truly superb. Our server was knowledgeable, personable and fun to talk with, and she offered to ask the kitchen to split dishes for us in order to cater to a pair of old-time "foodies" who like to share their selections. We will be back!
Fantastic dinner and birthday celebration. The staff was amazing!
I had made a reservation a week in advance since I was going to be in the area. I have eaten there before and always had a good, if not great, meal. Dinner that night was excellent - imaginative, well cooked and well presented. I don't know if they have upped their game or not, but everything from the food to the excellent service was top notch and I will definitely return and can highly recommend this restaurant.
Lovely setting, excellent food. Service was a touch flakely but friendly.
My husband’s entree was not warm. Mine was excellent but 50/50 is not good enough for the $$$.
Simon Pearce in Queeche has been a family favorite of our since 2004.
The setting is magical especially at sunset or any time of year.
The waitstaff is awesome, food consistently delicious, and all the table settings you want to bring home.
Fortunately, that is easy to do with the store right there to enjoy or watch the glassblowing.
I would drive and hour out of my way just to have the experience. Highly recommend!
