The meals consist of organic elements including grass-fed beef and pasture-raised, cage-free chickens. Local seafood options include wild Gulf shrimp, spicy Monterey squid and seared Ahi tuna, or visitors can take advantage of the raw seafood bar. Those looking for a vegetarian or vegan menu will find plenty of options available. The Slanted Door offers a family-style menu and a wide selection of desserts with an extensive bar menu to wash it all down.
Server was not knowledgeable of Asian cuisine, though was able to answer inquiries about a menu that was vague and ultimately inaccurate in details. Pedestrian food for the novice who has not been exposed to Vietnamese cuisine and wishes to overspend exploring 'exotic' dishes in a noisy setting with fruity drinks and a view.
So glad I finally made it here!! From spicy tuna tartare to dessert, it was all delicious and well worth it!! Service was impeccable, the food outstanding, the view was amazing! Just go here and eat everything!!
I have loved this restaurant for 10-15 years, but this time the portions seemed smaller than ever and the prices higher than ever. The value just wasn't there. For example, the shaking beef was $43 for six small pieces of meat, two of which were mostly fat.
Slanted Door is a fantastic place with great food. The only challenge was that we only got seated at 8:25pm for our 8 pm reservation. That is completely unacceptable for a high end place like Slanted. Naomi was fantastic in her service and our sommelier recommended an excellent wine but the front desk was awful and disappointing.
Everything was fine except the price for the rice paper wraps. I thought $15.00 was overpriced for two rolls cut into 6 pieces for an appetizer. I now have learned to make them myself!
Excellent service and good food. Think it’s a bit overpriced
Simply the greatest food available. Although the dishes use Asian herbs, spices, and ingredients it surpasses geographic limitations on the meals and the menu. Too tempting to over order and not be able to finish the meal at the restaurant
Restaurant was so full at 5:30 first seating that background noise level was a little high to make it totally comfortable.
Prices high but food totally worth it as to value
Clearly one of the TOP restaurants in SF and California
We have been several times but this visit was a major disappointment food bland, service unfriendly
What a great food experience! The view of the Bay Bridge outside the window was spectacular, as was the tasty food. We tried a variety of appetizers and salads for our meal and it was all delicious!
Overpriced and food is only ok. This place has gone downhill.
Food was delicious and service was great. The drinks are a little pricey but normal for touristy areas.
What great food! Eat the squid, it is tender and amazing and it will make you happy. And my husband "licked the bowl" of the chocolate creme brulee. Cocktails delicious too.
Food quality and presentation wonderful! Service was fantastic, as usual
Great location for friends visiting from out of town
Great food, reasonable prices,
Love this beautiful place which has great style, service and food although I’d love if they found a way to lower the decibels.
Underwhelming. Bland food. Slow, overwhelmed service.
The restaurant food quality has deteriorated over the years, however the restaurant environment imprinted a whole lot.
Muy buena comida, sabores y menú, muy buena vista y en la noche se disfruta mucho
Delicious. Food is served family style but everything was outstanding. The view is beautiful. Highly recommend.
This was by far the pinnacle of my dining experiences in San Francisco. Even though every dining experience was incredible this was the best. I highly recommend the clay pot chicken, and blue lake green beans. Be adventurous and try out one of the cocktails as they are amazing as well!
Delicious! Second time here and it was as good as we remembered. Ordered family style combination of apps and entrees- spare ribs, spring rolls, dumplings, rib eye, noodles and chicken stir fry. Everything was delicious. Don't miss the cotton candy for dessert! And the jasmine tea was a delight as it "bloomed" in the glass. The views are incredible. Service was courteous and helpful. Loved it!
Standard of food has dropped tremendously.
Special spring roll was obviously pre-made and very stale.
Shaking beef was definitely huge disappointment.
Cellophane noodle with crab did not even look appealing even though it tasted ok.
Have been going there for past nine years.
Used to be more elegant...now feels like a tourist stop.
Fabulous dinner with delicious wine and great views
I brought two people for their first experience at the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed every dish we ordered.
The waiter recommended a good wine pairing to Ho with my catfish which was really tasty. I also had the slanted door egg rolls which were ok, nothing special as an appetizer.
The quality of the ingredients and preparation remains high. Amazing consistency in quality.
Entrees very slow to come out.
Went for a luncheon. Very tasty fresh food. Great experience
The place is chaotic for the price and the food is not that great. Overall low score for value for money both in terms of taste and ambience. Over hyped for the view but you may not get a table close to those enjoy those views.
Been here many times over the years. Love the food. I don’t usually like Asian food because it’s heavy on sauces and garlic, spices. But this is exceptional in that the flavors are delicate. I was however very disappointed with the green beans in black bean sauce because the blue beans were old and stale and rough. Not fresh. Noodle and crab dish was sparse on crab and not very tasty. Overall I do like to come here when in the city.
I love this restaurant. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. I come here for my birthday. 🙏🙏🙏
Always go to the Slanted Door when we visit San Francisco!
Not as great as I remembered.
Food was nothing special.
Very good food. Excellent service. Too noisy for comfortable conversation.
Great food, great wine, and a service staff that not only were helpful in giving suggestions but also gave us the right amount of attention. The pace of the meal was perfect
On vacation in SF for first time. Great spot. Wonderful meal and service!
Just delicious. Had the ribs and lettuce wrap for appetizers. Cellophane noodles and chicken stir fry for dinner. Highly recommend.
Excellent food every time! Love this place
