The service was excellent and ambiance was beautiful and relaxing.

There was street parking two blocks down. Free meters after 6 pm.

We opted for the $145 pp tasting menu. Some of the food was on the salty side but overall the presentation was nice and the variety of the food was on point. The three different courses of bread was delicious.

For a special occasion, I would recommend you come and give this Michelin Star a try. Enjoy ....

Sons and Daughters was a fabulous experience--the food, ambiance, and service were all excellent. We expected things to be pricey but the final price tag was a bit higher than the value of the experience though. Definitely worth going for a special occasion.

Took my sweetie for his birthday. The food was excellent, but what really stood out were the wine pairings. They were SPOT ON. The wines by themselves were fine, the food by itself was of course excellent, but the two together really justified the expense of the wine pairing. It was really clear that a great deal of thought went into the decisions.

So most of the dinner we were really enjoying what was essentially an added dimension to the food that was not anticipated. Many fine restaurants do wine pairings, but here it seemed like the wines were holding hands with the foods, rather than just being appropriate but not otherwise complementary.

Definitely the two together were 4x what each was alone for the selections we enjoyed.

Everything is perfectly prepared and could see they definitely put a lot of thoughts into it. Just don’t align with their style and vibration. I prefer things more soulful and to the depth. Sons&Daughters is very good on the eye and surface level sensations but I left without spiritual satisfaction

It doesn't compare to all the UK Michelin star resturants we have visited.

Some of the dishes combined ingredients very poorly and the ability to taste the main ingredient was overshadowed by too many other flavors. The waitstaff was terrific and friendly and usually prompt with all courses. The sommelier was a little abrasive at times and the wines were a little bazaar and outside my comfort zone. The decor was lovely and the overall ambiance was nice. Maybe I was there on an off night.

Our experience overall was excellent.
The service was impeccable-they flowed with ease and were conscientious of not taking plates before everyone was done.
The food was creative and well portioned. They also made sure to explain the dishes ingredients and preparation.
We brought our own wine and they poured continuously.
I will definitely return.

This is a Tasting-menu-only restaurant. I went to Sons and Daughters for my close friend’s birthday.

The day before, Someone from the restaurant called to ask about food allergies and for both our names. She said it was for our personalized menus.

When they learned that it was my friend’s birthday, they gave us two complimentary glasses of champagne (delicious).

The 9-course menu includes the

Definitely special, but compared to other similarly high priced inventive multi-course meals I've experienced, this wasn't the best. Afterwards, i felt like I could have spent same amount and had better quality michelin star level dishes elsewhere. For me, some dishes felt like the weren't quite dialed in flavor wise, but they were no doubt creative. On the good side, it was a nice interior, with great service and wine pairing. Really liked the envelope they handed you at the end of the meal, with record of all you ate that night plus wine descriptions, plus a boxed truffle salted chocolate! Really nice touch.

From first greeting to the last bite, Sons and Daughters makes you feel like family. Everything was very good, but what stood out was the service. FOH was friendly and professional and not at all snooty or pretentious like other Michelin Star restaurants *cough* Commis *cough*

The food was playful and outstanding. The crab and truffle cannelloni was MIND BLOWING. Literally had dreams about it that night.

We will be back very soon.

It's a cold Saturday night. The traffic is bad and parking is hard. Dinner is eight courses and I enjoyed five of them and not the other three. The ones I don't enjoy aren't bad. I just don't like the flavors.

My wife had pescatarian menu she didn't enjoy the change. Not only ingredient quality is lower than those on regular menu but also the flavor is no match to them either.

But still, Sons and Daughters has its merit. And, whoever hasn't visited it yet could plan for it.

We had a fabulous 8 course meal with an extra amuse course, a palette cleanser course and truffle chocolates packaged to take home. The food was creative, unusual, artfully displayed and delicious. Some of us included the wine pairings that were perfectly matched to the flavors of the various courses. It's a small quiet restaurant so call at least a month ahead, but well worth the slightly hefty price.

My husband and I received a dinner at this restaurant as a gift. What a wonderful treat! The food was beautiful and very tasty. They serve very small to small portions but after 8 courses it is really more than enough food. The service was excellent as well, we felt well cared for. We did have the wine pairing with the dinner and everything was explained so well I felt like I was getting a wine tasting education!

Underwhelmed with the tasting menu, the highlights were the bread, tarts, and desserts. The rest of the dishes didn’t flow together and missed with a lot of the ingredients not pairing well together. For the price there are better options out there for you. The ambiance and service was really good but the food didn’t hold up its end.

Most definitely one of the best deals for fine dining in the city. The experience from start to finish was wonderful thanks to the attentive, friendly and warm staff. The tasting menu was diverse, creative and (of course!) tasty. S&D took care in making sure the reservation went perfectly. I was contacted by text on two occasions to confirm the date and time, as well as the names and spellings of the guests in my party (they put this on the menu). Thanks S&D for being a nob hill gem!

The reason this place had same day reservations available on a Saturday is because it's bad. Worst michelin star meal I've ever had. Every dish was super salty, many inedibly so. Lobster canneloni made with wonder bread and drowned in a way too peppery coconut cream sauce that managed to be too salty at the same time? A shockingly terrible dish of soggy, muddy beet-braised greens on top of fried boquerones and buried under what I can only guess/hope was sumac? An amateurish deconstructed pineapple dessert? Who comes up with this nonsense? Complete waste of money. The only redemming point of the meal was the wine pairing and the house made bread.

When the kitchen is on, the dishes are sublime. The caviar with sunchokes three ways and the buttermilk-encrusted sweet potato were surprising and delightful. But some dishes were odd and flavors were mismatched (scallop with too tart sauce, truffles overwhelmed by a spicy coconut milk sauce). The service was really stellar -- unpretentious, considerate, and kind when I asked stupid questions. The restaurant itself is cozy in a way that too many of the the SF blonde-wood-and-cement restaurants are not. Finally the wine pairings were some of the most well-considered I've ever had. I'm happy I went once. For this level of dining and expense, I don't think I would return on my own dime. I'd be thrilled to go as someone else's guest though.
