What Insiders Are Saying
Fine dining that doesn't take itself too seriously. Sons & Daughters is definitely our speed.
The food combinations were incredibly creative, the wine pairings really different and worked very well. Nothing about the meal was ordinary - we learned a lot about the food and wine. I wish my mind was as creative as the chefs.
The food was good but non-memberable. However, the wine pairing was a great experience.
Had a great meal on our last night in San Francisco!
The staff were amazing and the food very very good!
A warm welcoming restaurant ! As we went there for honeymoon celebration, the team offered to us Champagne and diffused musics we love. So cute ! Food is amazing with modern and tasting meals.
I have been fortunate to dine all over the world and to experience many amazing meals. This was easily a top 5 experience and may be the best overall meal/wine pairing I have ever enjoyed! Sons and Daughters is a must!
Great ambience. Diverse food experience. Go for the wine pairing. It goes great with their food.
3rd time visiting. And it always delivers. One of the best meals in SF period. Ambience is very casual and relaxing and the food is fantastic. Not an inexpensive night out but usually 6 out of 8 courses are a home run. As it was again this time. Deliciousness. Innovative. A great 3 hours.
Excellent food and unique combinations in bites. Highly recommend
Must visit in San Fran. Outstanding
The service was faultless, the food was incredible, and presentation was lovely. The only a few things that were off. The dessert of goat cheese tart was a disappointment after the delicious palate cleanser. The final taste in the mouth was a bite of straight goat cheese. Second, the wine pairing did not elevate the meal and instead were at odds with each other. At times, the paired wine complemented the dish, and at other times it overpowered or did not relate. Other than those 2 things, my date and I agree this was the best dining experience we’ve ever had. Thank you for a great night!
The food and service are really amazing. It's a splurge, but well worth it. The 5-spice squab was especially tasty. And the wine pairing option is worth it too.
A place for an amazing culinary experience. A fantastic and imaginative selection of wines sets the taste-guardrails for an evening of delights served with precision and friendliness. We enjoyed talking to the waitstaff, learning about the food being served, and the accompanying drink. It was a night I look forward to repeating.
Our second visit which we were anticipating highly since our first time was wonderful.
This time we brought a friend who was thoroughly disappointed and said she would never return.
Several of the courses were very disappointing in flavors and textures; especially the salmon (mushy) and the squab (crunchy, bony). Our friend wound up picking up the check (not our intention) and she felt it was enormously over priced. She dines at the finest restaurants in San Francisco as well as all over the world. I felt badly that we suggested Sons & Daughters to her.
But DO want to comment that the staff was WONDERFUL; especially Julianna who couldn't have been more accommodating, sweet, helpful.
It was delicious and I think should have 2 Michelin stars, not just one!
Wish I lived closer, so I could go more often, it really is that good!
I came here to celebrate a birthday and wow the staff were extremely friendly and made the experience great! They gave out custom menus alongside chocolates at the end. I will definitely come to celebrate here again.
We just aren’t fans of fruit and seafood and that it what was showcased on this highly seasonal menu.
Incredible experience and extraordinary food and wine pairings!
We celebrated our anniversary there with my husband. The staff was all aware it was our anniversary and made this a really special night. I have many dietary restrictions (no grains, dairy or soy) and the chefs managed to adapt the menu to my needs and still make every serving delicious and special for me! I highly recommend this restaurant with a great ambience, nice decoration but more importantly amazing food!
I loved almost everything that was in the tasting menu. The quail, which was one of the main dish, was a bit disappointing, and the panna cotta was so small I almost did not taste it, but the asparagus dish was so surprising and the bread was outstanding.
A really wonderful meal! All beautifully plated. Every course was a successful blend of flavors. Service could not have been any better. So glad we chose to dine here.
Whenever I go to San Francisco, I try to take time to enjoy this wonderful restaurant. The menu changes regularly, but the food is always magnificent. The best part is being able to share the experience with good friends. I highly recommend Sons and Daughters for your special occasions, as well as when you are looking for an amazing food experience.
Such an amazing restaurant. They easily catered to our dietary restriction (vegetarian). The food was spectacular.Every.Single. Bite. The wine list is spot on. Ambiance is perfect. The only knock is that it is a bit over serviced. It felt like there was someone always around filling glasses, cleaning the table, replacing silverware (this is a not a complaint, it was just more than I had anticipated). I would recommend Son's and Daughter's to anyone celebrating a special occasion.
Tasting menu started off great but main course Lamb was very poor executed . Lamb was tough and hard to cut . For a Michelin star restaurant really unacceptable . Also no air conditioning inside, on a hot day very unpleasant . Service was top notch .
Complete magic!! I’m
Simply amazing. The food the staff the environment. Will be back
Prix fixe menu- outstanding -eight courses of mouth watering delights attended by a marvelous staff. Cava and amusé lit the runway for a well balanced pairings evening. The Halibut crudo amazed with unexpected apricot and excellent wine pairing from Scribe. The macvin Beurre has my jaw dropping with every bite. Flores ‘17 Popes Smoke matched and played nicely with the ramps. An unexpectedly inspiring evening finishing strong with hibachi grilled lamb. Delightful. Stand out spot.
Wonderfully prepared, and entirely memorable (from a good memories standpoint). Thanks to Chef Tommy and the staff for making it a great experience.
Fantastic as always!!!!
Amazing experience. Highly recommend.
A fantastic experience. A serene restaurant texturally exquisite on so many levels. The staff, the creative dishes presented one by one were works of art. Perfection, an edible poem. Don’t miss this restaurant!
The best restaurant in San Francisco!!
Amazing in every way!!!! Can’t wait to go back.
Everything was wonderful. Wine pairing was magical.
The overall experience was good.
They deserve more than 1 Michelin star. The Food, service and wine pairing were all excellent. Love the music which gives a very nice vibe and atmosphere. It was such fun experience. Will definitely go back when I come to San Francisco.
Adjust to suit our taste too late
All the above catagories should have bern 10 stars. This is our third time here and this place is truly amazing. Our dinner was an ode to spring including asparagus, ramps, spring peas, mushrooms , soft shell crab and more. All tasty and beautifully presented. Services was perfect
The dining room lights were waaay too bright. You could do surgery in that lighting. It killed the ambiance.
