Excellent restaurant , interesting food and wine. Great after a Somerset house exhibition for RnR
Excellent all round
Always a delightful restaurant - absolutely excellent food, and impeccable service. Highly recommended, but expensive
I first visited Spring about a year ago and had a delightful meal. The service, ambience and, most importantly, the food were delightful. I was less impressed when I returned recently for a second visit. The service and ambience were still excellent. The food, however, was not. My companion and I both chose lamb cutlets for our main courses. Portions were small and both our servings were tough and tasteless. This is an expensive restaurant; main courses are in the GBP30 -- GBP40 range. I was struck by the staff who were misting the linen tablecloths to remove creases as they set tables for the next day. At these prices, I suggest that Spring focus more on substance and less on style; it needs to up its game in the kitchen and find a way back to its previous form if it's going to return to favor with this diner.
Had pre theatre dinner and between 5.30 and 6.30 pm they do a scratch menu at £20 for 3 courses which changes every day and is the left over from ingredients from lunch. Was absolutely lovely and perfect portion size.
Scratch menu is brilliant and really good value. Beautiful space and excellent service.
We had a lovely meal. Opted for fixed price lunch menu. The food was great, portions small, wine expensive,
We thought the food was outstanding! But the evening was really spoiled by the wine waiter who spent 20 minutes chatting to people he knew at the next table - we had asked for a wine list 3 times and didn’t receive one till out mains had been served. That seemed really unprofessional. The food waiters were lovely. We would come again for the food but will be v unhappy if the wine service is poor again. The ambience is also lovely.
V good beautiful space lovely service
Ate here twice in a week and the difference in the food between the two was too much. First trip very good, second the food was just ok.
Thank you because we had a wonderful evening at Spring restaurant! Found the restaurant via the app where chefs eat. The staff was genuine hospitable (my teenage daughter sensed) and friendly which really made our stay. They took very well care of our needs and made us feel comfortable by creating a relaxed and yet refined atmosphere. The food was in one word delicious and the sommelier served very good matching wines.
Loved my Scratch Supper at Spring - the food is excellent, fresh, locally sourced and cooked with great flair and served by wonderful staff. The Sommelier Monique and team are knowledgable and enthusiastic and the atmosphere was buzzing in a full restaurant on a Tuesday evening. A wonderful experience!
One of the top five dining experiences of my life. Everything tasted divine, the service was an excellent combination of discreet, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The decor was calming, and beautiful, and all credit to them re sound - you’d never know you were right next to the main road onto the bridge!
Starters were ok, but nothing amazing, especially at £16-19, I had the lamb for main which was the standout dish for me. The side portion of jersey potatoes was £12, it was much too much for one person and was a waste of food. It should have been half the size (and the price). I am usually very at home with a wine list but I found this one to be quite nuanced (not necessarily a bad thing) but prohibitively expensive for things you are uncertain about choosing. The venue is stunning though. Overall a bit disappointed.
Food and service were excellent. Comfortable seating in a very refined setting.
Had an amazing time at spring. The ambiance is amazing, it's not pretentious at all even though it's in such a beautiful and grand setting. The service was really great, everyone so attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious but starters on the expensive side. Overall I would definitely go back! Very good to take your parents or for a date!
Lovely room and great food . Idea for a special occasion .
Staff attentive and helpful with menu interpretation
Always friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food. Stunning room and decor. A firm favourite.
I loved my visit to Spring Restaurant. I went specifically because I was interested in the Scratch Menu. This is a daily menu created using waste / surplus food. My dining companions preferred to eat from the a la carte menu. I was told that I couldn't have the Scratch Menu as it was only served to the whole table. This to me is crazy and takes away from everything the Scratch Menu is about and makes me feel that the Spring Restaurant's commitment to it's principles is tokenistic.
We had lunch here after visiting an exhibition at Somerset House.
Lovely venue & delicious meal, staff were very attentive. It all made for a lovely day out on Good Friday.
Wonderful and creative. The scratch menu is great value. Wonderful attentive service as well. We will return
One of the best restaurants in London
Spring was an excellent location for a date night. With a rather feminine and modern aesthetic, we felt very comfortable from the moment we sat down. Delicious cocktails and a great selection of wine. The only critique was that when our mains arrived the lamb was just warm rather than hot, otherwise we found everything very pleasing. The rhubarb tart was a highlight on the trip!
A beautiful setting, airy and light. Good service and lovely fresh food.
Wonderful meal in a beautiful room. Very inventive. Warm and attentive service. A treat.
Excellent experience - had the set lunch which turned out to be good value. The food was delicious and the service was understated but very attentive. The environment is very light and relaxing and we spent a very pleasant 3 hours there. I would definitely recommend it, and will go again.
Spring is a real breath of fresh air with excellent food that is served by friendly and attentive waiters in the most beautiful ambience. The chef treats simple food with enough touch and attention to create a little piece of art, without overdoing it. At the same time, the Spring team reminds us that we have to stop wasting food, as a part of being climate change conscious. Well done team Spring.
The Scratch menu was very good value at £20 for three courses. Wine expensive but can get a bottle of Spanish red for £27. The service was impeccable and the restaurant decor is beautiful. Will be going back to try the A La Carte.
We are regular diners at Spring because it is great value for money, tasty, well-cooked food served by hard working, generous hosts in a genial atmosphere.
Wonderful - in every way. A delightful treat on a Friday afternoon!
Great food and atmosphere
One of my favourite restaurants in London and a massive fan of Skye’s cooking. This time around it was sadly not the meal for me, guinea fowl was below par, dish looked odd and taste/execution fine. My wife’s halibut was divine, awash with colour and taste. Service was good but too attentive and this a tad frustrating. Finer balance required. I will return
Super food and very attentive service
They noticed we had a special occasion (a double birthday!) and were delightful with the recognition
Very good value for such excellent food
Lovely staff but a little odd to have run out of potatoes by the 7.30 pm dining slot! One of my group asked when ordering to have the deep fried potatoes in the monkfish main course replaced with boiled potatoes. The monkfish arrived with the deep fried potatoes and no explanation and when we queried it we were told that unfortunately there were no boiled potatoes left!
Service just right. Good wine choices
Gorgeous venue, beautiful flower arrangements, however the food was a bit of a let down. If you’re after sophisticated meals, this one isn’t for you.
Everything was excellent from entry to exit. Well done
lovely to look at and good service. delicious wine as well.
Good food, attentive service, beautiful building, but it’s massively overpriced.
We went for a festive meal to celebrate two birthdays. While the room is beautiful and the food very good, the service was simply awful from the moment we sat down. We could not have been more ignored by the staff who seemed clueless. It culminated in having to chase down a waiter, having waited endlessly with our dessert menus for someone to take our dessert order. They need to seriously sort out the staff.
