What Insiders Are Saying
Stoneburner is an Italian-American spot in Ballard with good neapolitan pizza and decent everything else, though the pastas are a crap shoot.
Lovely food and service
Fennel sausage pizza...soggy crust ! Limp to the point of fixings slid off while moving a slice. Served with a large fork and serving spoon ??? Instead of a serving spatula...🙄
Once again, we had a server (goes by Jus 10 I believe) who helped ensure we had a great vegetarian experience...he swooped in like a ninja to stop a plate from hitting our table when he saw it wasn’t prepared as we asked. He also brought us a sample taste of another wine when they were out of the one we ordered. Things happen when you order a lot of small plates on a busy night, but none of that matters when the service is so good (and the food tastes as good as it does here.) so impressed with this place—we’ll be back again and again. Loved the pumpkin cappelletti, the roasted carrots, and the vanilla & dulce de leche budino best.
Really great food and service
We were told Stoneburner has excellent pasta and wood-fired pizza. My wife and I both had pasta dishes that were excellennt. Our salad would be given a "good" grade.
They gouge you on the wine. Should be a decent red on menu for under $30. Mostly they were $50+
Service was very good. Loud but have come to expect that in most restaurants these days. Food was between 3 and 4 stars. Meatball dish was tasty but too salty for my (usually salty) tastes. Octopus was good -tender, not rubbery. Drinks were fine. Staff appeared to be working well together and enjoying themselves. Overall a nice time.
Loved it all! Will totally go again!
Stoneburner is underrated. It's so incredibly delicious. They change their menus every 4-6 weeks, so everytime we go we try something new and it's always spectacular. We always have great waiters who take the time to answer all our questions and serve us with a smile.
Stone Burner never disappoints! one of my favorite brunch places in Seattle.
The very best service I have had in Seattle in s very long time. Thank you Kate @ Stoneburner! Charcuterie platter is not to be missed! Excellent sharing plates and overall cool Ballard vibe.
We had a really nice time. We came for a late Friday night dinner. The staff was really friendly, great wine options and easy to share plates. For two of us we did an appetizer, pizza and bottle of wine. We just moved to the area and will definitely be coming back!
Terrific food, excellent service. Our server was quite animated and passionate in her description of the dishes, which made her an excellent advocate of the cuisine! We all chose pasta dishes, as well as a couple vegetable small plates and desert, and they were all delicious. Our only drawback was the noise, which made carrying on a conversation difficult at times. A lovely meal like that shouldn't have competition in terms of distracting ambiance. Otherwise, everything was divine--a lovely evening!
Our favorite restaurant in Seattle is Stoneburner. It's a little above our typical date night budget, so we save it for special celebrations and we are truly never disappointed. The food is the best in the city, the drinks and wine list are incredible, but what makes this place so special is the thoughtful details put into every step of your experience from the time you walk in until the time you leave. The staff are all highly trained and yet still so personable. If there is one spot you have to hit in Seattle, it's here.
Amazing vegetables and seafoods!
Great food and lively atmosphere!
We went there for Sunday brunch, they have a great selection of items on the menu some of them with a unique twist on a familiar dish. I had the biscuits and gravy, the gravy was thick and so flavorful on top of the drop biscuits which were fantastic. We are already planning a return trip for dinner to enjoys those items and taste their extensive wine selection.
Our server, Kate, took excellent care of us, even though it was a very busy Saturday night. We mentioned we were vegetarian and she worked with the chef to ensure the dishes were suitable. Everything was amazing—and the veggies were treated as superstars! Definitely try the charred broccoli. The Dutch fries were wonderfully crunchy on the outside, creamy soft on the inside. The house-made pasta was perfect as was the dessert (dulce de Leche budino.) we’ll be back for sure!
Awesome brunch as always
It was amazing the waitress help us so much on our menu and made it the best time !!:)
The food was good and ambience/service even better, but the serving proportions were small yet pricy.
Our server was amazing!
Overall, we enjoyed our Valentine’s Day experience. The restaurant was chilly. My wife wore her coat during dinner. Our food was delicious, especially the meatballs my wife ordered. My pasta dinner was very rich (with lamb) but was a small portion. The service was excellent. I would go back during a warmer time of year.
Stoneburner is one of our favorite restaurants. We were entertaining a relative from Minneapolis and a colleague of hers from Sweden. There was one vegetarian and they had no trouble finding items to eat. Since it was at the tail end of the big snow, the restaurant was not as loud as normal (not very busy). We were also seated at a table at one end. I would have to say it was chilly in the restaurant. We didn't complain so I can't comment whether or not they could have adjusted the temperature.
Overall, a great restaurant and always, first rate service.
My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Stoneburner. It was some of ours’ first time in Seattle and this spot will be remembered. Service was prompt and each dish was fabulous. The atmosphere is wonderful and their large tables make it perfect for a friends dinner. We will return next time we are in town. Thank you!
The food was very good. It did take a long time to be served, maybe due to snow conditions? I’m not sure if they had a full staff or they were really busy.
Quaint. Food interesting and tasty. Good wine list.
We had the best server ever and the food is delicious! Great cocktails as well.
Our server was excellent. She took very good care of us.
Food wasn't anything special. pricing was reasonable. Date night with 3 total drinks, 2 appetizers, 1 shared vegetable, 1 shared entree came up to $100 +tip.
Restaurant was cold. location is great, service was great.
Really enjoyed the blackened salmon. Black crust over salmon that was medium rare in the center. Luscious. Caesar salad was large enough for 2-3, so don't order one as a side salad for one person. Get some help. Bar work needs some help. Ordered Tanqueray up with a couple olives. In most restaurants they call this a Martini with three ounces of gin. It came neat in an Old Fashioned glass and appeared to be an ounce of gin and was not even cold. Friends ordered Jack Daniels on the rocks and received a very measley size drink. Appeared to be 1 ounce rather than the typical 1 1/2 ounces normally served in most restaurants. Today's Martini should contain no vermouth and be shaken until the shaker is too cold to hold on to, about 30 seconds. Then rested for about 45 seconds to allow a very thin sheet of ice to form over the top of the gin. Then strained into a freezer chilled glass with 2-3 green queen olives. These drinks appeared to be made for Millenials, not someone like Humphrey Bogart as they should have been. Luscious food though.
I would have liked our waitress to explain the menu to us. Even with prompting her there was no explanation.
We celebrated my husband's birthday at Stoneburner this weekend because it's consistently a great dining experience. As usual, the season dishes were exceptionally tasty. Our waiter - Justin - was made great recommendations and was very attentive. We really like that they seem to empower their staff to do everything they can to make it a memorable experience for their clients and they do it well!
Our host and hostess were friendly. We loved the booth we were seated at and Jocelyn was an excellent waitress. The Oyster King mushrooms were our favorite! Thanks for a great evening.
The appetizers were good, as was the service. Charming place. My complaint is with the pizza we ordered. A tough dish to mess up, but ours was greasy and just plain ol' didn't taste very good. My son had the pork chops, and they were on the dry side. So, maybe an off night for the kitchen? No big deal, but I don't think we'll go back.
Chicken was only fair and overpriced. I would not go back.
Our service was a bit slow and it was disappointing that they had run out of their specials as we had several fish eaters in our party.
Changed the menu, we love this resturant, however the new pasta dishes are not even close to as good as the previous menu
Stoneburner never disappoints. Menu is inventive and they deliver great tasting dishes. Pizza is outstanding, of course, but the other selections are excellent as well. I love that they take reservations.
