Taberna de Haro
The paella with shrimp and mussels was really tasty! So were the artichokes. The black paella with squid was not as interesting as we had hoped, a bit bland and one-dimensional. Need to try more tapas next time.
This is our go to in Boston.we love it! This visit was fantastic - great wine! The food is just so good and tapas with a fun group is the best. Our waiter Jack was so much fun and so attentive and engaged. Really can't say enough..other than, we'll definitely be back!
Our waiter was absolutely wonderful! I have a lot of food restrictions and he was very accommodating. However: the oyster special is only 5-7pm at the bar!
Authentic, delicious food, lovely staff. Neighborhood find.
Expensive food terrible service.
Great food, great wine, and great service! The waiter was so knowledgeable and made an amazing wine recommendation based on our tastes and our meal.
Very expensive for a standard Spanish food. The paella was not good
Excellent foo,d and service, pleasant ambiance, but a bit noisy and quite crowded. Food is not cheap (we paid appx. $40/person), but very, very good. Will definitely go again.
Another delicious dinner at Taberna. There are so many wine choices; the advice and the selection is fun, with lots of help when requested, and there is no wrong wine there. And the food seems to get better and better. There are some items that have been removed from the menu to make space for new ones, or long ago dishes being brought back, but our requests for what we missed were happily filled anyway.
We love this neighborhood haunt! Their food and service are always good and the menu gets changed often enough that there’s always something new when we stop in. We’ll be back later this month with out of town guests.
Great environment and drinks, food was mediocre but had fun there. Order simply and have drinks and you will enjoy yourself.
Tuesday night, live guitar, good bottle of wine, and tasty food, what's not to like?!
As always a great experience. Sherry flite terrific.
Nice variety of dishes and not too noisy on a week night.
We've enjoyed Taberna de Haro a few times in the past, but eaten outside -- the inside, at least on a busy March Friday night was LOUD (lively :-) ), even though the staff was kind enough to seat us at their quietest table at our request. The selection of small plates is broad, and we ordered a nice selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian. As we would expect with tapas, items came as they were prepared, but they came pretty darn fast -- we felt a little rushed. We enjoyed the wines by the glass, and felt the pours were appropriate to the price. We did NOT feel, however, that the black paella was appropriate to the price -- for $36, we should have had more than two small squid. It looked like one big plate of black rice -- really disappointing. Our server was great, friendly, just the right level of attentive. We will definitely go back, but when we can sit outside, and we'll skip the paella.
Lot’s of fun and a very interesting menu. Drinks were great. We were sitting at a high top in the bar area, so it was a little noisy. Perhaps sitting in the main dining area would have been a little. If you are and adventurous eater, there is plenty to choose from.
Traditional tapas with the authentic tastes of Spain. The wine list is very impressive with a wide range of options to match the cuisine.
Took wife and daughter to dinner. Daughter is knowledgeable about wine and spotted something on the extensive wine list. It was the first time that I didn’t ask the owner to pick a wine for me.
Fantastic food and great casual low key ambiance. We loved it!
Wonderful tapas...the special this evening was frogs legs. Absolutely delightful!
My wife and I reserved a late table to visit after going to the theater, and enjoyed the ambience and food. We ordered a favorite bottle of Priorat wine (for $45 which is a reasonable price for Priorats) and had the grilled lamb chops, chicken thighs, and sauteed artichokes with Jamon. It was all prepared with the large quantity of fries under the chops and thighs, it was more than enough food. The meal was a wonderful end to a nice evening. We finished around 11, and there were still many people finishing up as we left.
We had been here once before as a last-minute thing with friends and enjoyed it, so we booked a table for dinner with an out of town guest. We loved the ambiance and the wines; our servers were very nice. The problem was that the food was terrible. Rather than having a complex melding of flavors, the dishes tended to have one overpowering flavor, and not a very good one. The sauce of the meatballs could have been Chef Boyardee, the blade steak was tough, the shrimp overcooked, the tortilla mealy. There was a lot of food leftover and I had no interest in bringing it home. Maybe the regular chef was off duty on 2/23 since we had had a good meal there 4 months before. A big disappointment for us and our guest.
Good food! Very authentic Spanish food.
Everyone was great and accommodating
My neighborhood favorite, and I don’t even live in the neighborhood. When good food and relaxation are priorities, there is no better place.
Service was amazing, the food was amazing, the sangria was amazing! All around perfect Friday night dinner
Enjoyed another dinner at Taberna de Haro---especially the eggplant with honey drizzle, the frog legs, the codfish croquette----lovely wine with help from Deborah, who never fails to choose a great one----our opinion of the best Spanish rest in Boston and environs.
Typical Spanish food tapas.. patatas bravas with mediums quality mayo . Aubergines a little bit too oily.
Lovely spot, wonderful ambience, great date spot, wonderful service, highly recommended overall.
This restaurant has the ambiance, menu and wine list that I have always loved when traveling in Spain. It is very authentic.
There were four of us dining early on Valentine’s Day before going to symphony. Of course it was full, but in spite of that, the wait staff was attentive and the service was impeccable.
I look forward to future visits there.
The food an ambiance were incredible. We felt incredibly welcomed by the owner and by our server. This is my favorite spot in Boston and I will be back. Taberna de Haro blows Barcelona out of the water with there authentic tapas and incredible wine and sherry list. This spot is a must for Spanish food and wine lovers!
Fantastic meal as always, with exceptional service and absolutely spot on wine/sherry recommendations.
It was a flawless restaurant experience and a great value.
food is bland, sangria less than mediocre, theyonly have 2 kinds of beers , wine is lousy
atomosphere boring, older crowd
barcelona down the street blows it out of tthe water
Wonderful food with an amazing number of choices. Wines and sherries also amazing. Service and ambiance makes it a perfect night out.
Wonderful food and great wine list. Service was excellent with good recommendations. Table was fine, but a little tight. Definitely easier when outdoor seating is available.
Love this place. So authentic
The Spanish reds we tried were both very enjoyable (Mourvèdre & Seis). We shared the special trout, the papas, and the spicy shrimp and all were delicious.
I’ll be back
Deborah runs a fabulous restaurant. Her wine list, service, food (tapas and regular dishes and desserts) is excellent. We have come back again and again with various friends and visitors over the years.
