PoP is one of our favorite restaurants on the planet. Last evening’s meal was evidence of why. Started with gâteau de crabbe, had duck confit as my entree — both were prepared and presented to perfection! Our waiter, Trey, was a total gem: excellent server, warm and welcoming personality and terrific sense of humor. And as is typically the case at PoP, before we finished our meal we had a wonderful conversation with the couple seated next to us, who were originally from Puerto Rico but are now fortunate enough to reside just a few blocks from PoP, and dine there frequently. (Can you sense my envy? We drive up from Sarasota to Safety Harbor, so aren’t able to enjoy it as frequently as we’d like, but thank our lucky stars each time that we do.)

Love the Paris bistro ambiance inside, with mood music playing at just the right level so that it feels like you're in a special place, but you can still easily chat with table mates. My second time there and cannot wait to dine there again. Exceptional service, a lovely French chardonnay by the glass, and delightful mussels served with delicious, crispy French fries. Food was served perfectly hot. Beautiful presentation of Hubby's sea bass, but the tomato-onion relish on top could use refining. Good but not great. Rice with it was wonderful. Looking forward to trying the crepes.
