Went for weekday breakfast at 10:30 a.m. and it was very pleasant and quiet. Restaurant is lovely, service was very good. Portions were generous and tasty. My only complaint is that substitutions are not allowed.
Love the food and the service. Meghan was wonderful.
Very few people, dinning last Sunday , so the ambiance was a little bit slow
Service was awful, and we almost walked out. We waited almost 20 minutes before our drink order was taken. Then our order had several errors. So it was a disappointing experience. Food was great though.
I've been a regular of this neighborhood restaurant for years so I'm very sad to write that in the passed month thinks have changed and not for the better. If the new chef has barely modify the menu, his delivery is of inferior quality. So after several disappointing dinner, lunch and breakfast I decided to write this review hoping that the people at Tavern will correct their act. Sunday at 10 am, it took over 35 minutes to get a simple scrambled eggs with bacon, potatoes and bacon were greasy and burned, even the toast was dripping in fat too. The latte had no crema , the waiter sent another one, it was no better. The service is still good and friendly but some of the new people at the desk have a bit of an attitude, they are dishevelled and inappropriately attire for their position and for the class of the restaurant. And the barista ! please have them trained at Alfred or Luxe .
Beautiful ambiance, I especially loved the live tree in the center of the dining room. The menu was a unique take on bunch classics, everything was delicious. Excellent cheese and wine selection and the staff are very kind and knowledgeable.
Service was so spotty. Disappointing.
Fantastic brunch on weekends, great food overall and service is great!
The new spring menu has a great garden salad with mixed greens, avocado, oranges and radishes tossed in a delightful green goddess dressing. Halibut was lovely, properly prepared on a carrot puree with greens tucked in and gnocchi much lighter than described. Duck sausage was also great on my last visit and our neighbors loved their tuna meatballs.
The menu selection was not interesting. The food wasn’t good or delicious.
Love this place ---- its my go-to breakfast place for business and social. Great ambiance in solarium, easy to hear the conversations and food consistently good!
Just wish they had eggs benedict at lunch!
Always a pleaser. My go to for a consistently great night. If Chef Goin is steering the ship, I’m goin’.
Perfect place for Mother’s Day Brunch. Menu selection was varied and delicious. There were a few dishes we ordered family style, since everything sounded so good. The restaurant is a lovely venue and very comfortable too! The service couldn’t be better. This is our second year in a row and looking forward to next year. Both years we brought small babies and it all worked.
The service is not good i like the place and the food . But it takes 20 min for any waiter to great you or ask drink order or bring bread and water . I use to have brunch there every weekend and I stopped just because of their bad service .i tried again and it was disappointing again
great food, great time. Love being able to choose form the dining and bar menu (for the Blue room)
Great spot for a date. They have great food and a great selection of drinks.
I'm on the fence about the recommendation. It's pricey. We love the bacon-wrapped dates, but they've shot up in price (from about $8 to $11 in the last 3 or so years?). We tried the fish tacos (grilled, not battered), and the cod was "meh." Other food has been fine, but nothing great. It's also noisy in the main room. The service was pleasant but a bit slow. It seems more like a place to go to be seen in Brentwood. If you kind of quietly hang out in the cafe area, it seems nice. Overall, I think the cons just outweigh the pros.
Delicious, delightful, easy parking, a must in Brentwood, casual quality.
Beautiful bar and dining room. Menu is perfect, something for everyone to with share or covet. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive making your trip to Tavern a perfect dining experience! Bravo!
Great location; limited menu without a lot of fresh options.
Perfect ambience, great for any occasion. I've been here for big gatherings or small outings with friends and it always feels like a "happy" place!
Fun food beautifully presented. Lots of pretty people too.
This is a special place in the neighborhood. Inventive recipes. Food is perfectly served. Atmosphere is bright and cheerful and beautifully designed. And there is great consistency for return visits. Wonderful breakfast/brunch spot and a delightful place for dinner.
We ordered the salmon, which was PERFECTLY cooked. Crispy skin, tender, moist meat with just a hint of rareness at the center. The accompanying vegetables and dressing were outstanding too. We recommended this dish to the table of men who sat down after us, and they loved it as well!
Great breakfast/lunch/dinner spot especially for a business meeting. Good food, sophisticated and easy.
Food was lukewarm. Little portions and high prices. Somewhat disappointing.
Food was horrible. Hanger steak chewy and not cooked as ordered—even after we sent it back. Swordfish smelled so fishy, it was inedible! Fingerling potatoes were like mush. Cauliflower side and the pea side dish—too spicy. You could not taste the vegetables. French fried were the only thing worth eating although when they took my hanger steak to cook it as I ordered, they returned the plate with soggy French fries.
Expensive and no value!
Horrible Easter dinner!
I have been to Tavern many times. Mostly for lunch. On this particular evening, we were celebrating a birthday. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. The drinks took 25/30 minutes from the order time. Our appetizers were lovely although the butter lettuce was EXTREMELY fishy. The chicken that was ordered for the main course came out luke warm on the outside and "refrigerator" cold on the inside. No waiter was ever to be found to check in on us after receiving our main dish, offer us a drink and our water glasses were empty yet again! When the waitress finally arrived, she offered to have me order something else, but I declined and sent back the chicken. When it was dessert time, a delicious desert came out as a surprise for the birthday girl with a candle. I went home disgusted and hungry. Bad main course, BAD service, way too much work. Wow. Big disappointment. Too many good restaurants in town to bother with this.
Tavern is my favorite place for a business lunch in Brentwood. The ambience is great. The tri salad is my favorite.
Good food. Good service.
I like the restaurant and the food tastes well prepared, but the food portions were not commensurate with the price. The gnocchi at $23 included about 6 or 7 pieces of gnocchi. Many of their items are meant to share, but a plate of pasta with a few pieces of pasta is disappointing especially for what is being charged. The side dish of broccoli was also a very scant portion. I normally love the Goin restaurants, but some of the portion sizes should be revisited for the price.
Cramped table, and noisy, but otherwise quite pleasant.
Beautiful restaurant w good food
Devils chicken over cooked. My mother did not eat it.
Pasta served with unusually large amount of butter.
Loved the entire experience! Best ambience!! Highly recommend going!
I have been a few times. They change the menu to fit the season or Holiday. All over real tasty food.
The lunch menu is too small without many options. And NO House Chardonnay?!!
Always a beautiful room in the back for busk was meals. Highly recommend.
The food was very good with lots of choices for a pescatarian & meat lovers too. Burrata salad & bacon wrapped dates were delicious. The desserts, beniges & candy bar takeoff (can’t remember the name) were wonderful & very chocolate. The service was rather slow but just what we wanted for a relaxing meal. They apologized but there was no need. It was quiet enough that we could have a conversation. We will return again for dinner or brunch.
