Excellent food they have tables which are completely covered. Cocktails were good, but too much ice, not enough beverage for the price.
Thanks so much for your feedback and choosing to dine with us! We have to use plastic cups on our patio and they are much larger than our usual glasses. The cocktails, beer and wine are in fact all the same sizes as always. Very sorry that you thought too much ice. We will work on less ice to fill cups. Thanks again for taking the time to let us know!
Food was amazing. Outdoor dining was a little thrown together with the tables being wobbly. They sat us outside even though our reservation was for indoors. There was a large party of people outside as well which made it very loud. Service was a little slow and didn’t come around as often as I would have liked. Could be either due to the waitress also waiting on the large group, or it could just be how it is there. I would 100% go back again because the food was amazing. Hopefully next time the service will be a little better because that would have made it 5 stars instead of 4.
We have worked tirelessly to create an enjoyable outdoor space for our guests with furniture that is all Lifetime brand, new and easy to sanitize. You can be sure that we'll make sure at the beginning of every shift the tables are adjust to sit as evenly as possible on the pavement and sidewalk. Given the times that we have opened our staff has been trained to spend as little time needed with unmasked guests. This is for their safety. Glad you enjoyed your meal and we hope to see you again!
The Moody Street experience was great tonight. Great to be back at Tempo
Fish and chips were excellent!
Always a delicious meal, and they have great options for everyone! Very healthy and food is so fresh and satisfying. Our waitress was super sweet and gave us recommendations for drinks and new dishes to try. Tempo is such a gem, would recommend it for any occasion!
We were so excited to get back to Tempo after Quarantine. The guidelines were clear and our experience was lovely!
Service was really slow but I understand covid makes it hard to have more servers!!
Considering the times.Nate and Erin have put together a fantastic outdoor dining experience on Moody Street in Waltham. The service and the quality of the food was outstanding. And our server Was delightful and energetic.
Tempo was one of the first restaurants on Moody Street to open with outside seating after the Corona Shutdown. Service was excellent, food delicious, atmosphere was festive. Show Tempo and all the Waltham restaurants some love. Tip big and be patient, they’re doing great.
Great service and great food! Loved it, we’ll be back!
Tempo never fails to disappoint. From the truffle fries to the Pinot Noir choice to the New Bedford sea scallops entrée, everything was outstanding. It is like having access to a fancy downtown Boston restaurant right up the street in Waltham. My husband and I love it
Everything was five star but the dessert.
Great food! Great service! Great cocktails! Will be going back soon!
I have never been disappointed....Awesome !

The food was good but the delivery was way off. Our server (Georgette) may have been new but not sure. Our appetizer order was taken first and she rushed off. The appetizers were delivered by someone else and then the server came back for our drink order. But, she only took a drink order from my wife and I and then rushed off again ignoring our three adult children. It certainly wasn’t special enough to warrant a return visit.
Made a reservation was seated next to child who threw mac and cheese and ran through the heavy curtain blocking the wind from the door. Loud and really not the experience you expect when you paying $170 for two for dinner. Can't say if restuarant should have asked us about making a change to our seating request when we arrived. But in the end probably won't go again.
I've been there several times, and it has always been above average. This last visit was the best. Good drinks with a warm and blue cheesy brussels sprouts tomorrow start, off the menu oysters rockefeller and steak from the specials menu cooked to perfection. One in our party of three was so impressed that she called the restaurant the next day to praise our server.
Meeting up with a friend- casual evening
Lovely place but food was mixed. My friend had a delicious seared tuna. My spicy shrimp and scallops was a
Muddled mix. Not much seafood drowned in bland tomato sauce. Service was erratic. Very helpful at times. Missing in action at others. Wine List was very expensive.
Excellent food and service, a little loud for detailed conversation. Nice wine list that paired well with our meal choices.
Great Place, first time there. It was a bit loud at the tables by the bar, making it difficult to have a conversation, but overall the food and service was excellent.
I love their menu - lots of gluten free and dairy free options.
The restaurant is pretty, with a cozy ambiance. The service was friendly and efficient (the restaurant was nearly empty, but the menu warns that when it's crowded the service may be slow) but the food was just fair and way overpriced, considering that the place is billed as a bistro, and has a limited menu. We shared chicken wigs as an appetizer and both ordered short ribs as a main course. No bread was offered. The wings were overcooked and dry (almost charred), and the short ribs were ok but nothing special. The accompanying risotto was good. We did not order dessert or coffee. There are so many better restaurants in Waltham, and at these prices we will probably not return to this one.
We had heard a lot of good things about Tempo and wanted to give it a try , that will be our only visit.
The food was fair, not bad , not great. We ordered appetizers, the Brussels sprouts were delicious, plus two other apps that were okay. We asked for bread for the table and our waitress said that they didn’t have bread, we could order the pita and hummus appetizer. We waited for the main course , there were four of us. Our waitress was not really someone who should be in the service industry. Food and service were okay , Bill was quite high for what we got. Would not recommend.
Interesting food selections well prepared. Portions are large enough to satisfy even the very hungry. Nice ambiance that doesn't try too hard but is several steps above everyday casual. Will be back again!
Lovely experience. The food was so good. And the service was phenomenal
Great food. A little pricy. Our reservation was ready when we got there which was nice. Overall, I would go again
I hadn't been back to Tempo for several years -- dined there frequently in the first ten years or so it was open (now 15). This was Valentine's Day, and they were busy, but not to the point that service was degraded. We ordered specialty cocktails (smokey old fashioned and a mezcal / Ancho Reyes / pineapple / lemon concoction) and a kale ceasar salad off the regular menu and Oysters Rockefeller off the Valentine's special menu, followed by seared Ahi tuna and lobster paella off the special menu. Ended sharing a chocolate desert bomb. Everything was excellent .... nothing disappointed! Took photos of the cocktail ingredients to recreate at home. Plan to come more frequently to hang and eat at the bar.
Amazing service, great menu with a lot of options, and the food was delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better place for a Valentine's Day Dinner
The appetizers and meals were very good. The service was lacking however. We would’ve ordered dessert if the wait person hadn’t taken so long to come back to the table after giving us the menu. But all in all it was a nice dining experience.
Always a good time at Tempo! I can’t say enough great things about this Moody Street staple! If you haven’t been... go tonight!
the food is extraordinary. happy to know that the backgground music is just that, kept in the background. excellent wait service, the kind of service that is excellent because you're only aware of it after the meal is over, non obtrusive but attentive.
The food was excellent
Burrata and brussel sprouts both excellent
Mains shrimp and scallops, veal chop, lobster special and hangar steak were all perfectly prepared and even the coconut crisp for dessert was very good
We have always had good meals at Tempo this was particularly exceptional
server Sean was on his game! Our friends had not been there before and can’t wait to go back
The extensive GF options are very impressive as well
Tempo is one of my favorite restaurants. There is always an interesting range of specials to complement the regular menu and the food is excellent.
The food was excellent and there were many gluten-free options which is key for me since i have Celiac. My only real complaint was that the portions of the tapas were quite small and you needed to order many of them to actually make a dent in your appetite.
Tempo was excellent. Yummy food, attentive wait staff and great atmosphere. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.
Felt like more of a local bar (and the cocktails were quite good) than a great restaurant. Despite reservations and lots of open seats, we were seated by the entrance next to another couple which seemed unnecessary and rude. The entrees did not excite us so we stuck to appetizers and salads. The $12 for three mushroom raviolis seemed overly expensive and the serving of calamari was also on the small side with mostly tough tentacles instead of rings. The dinner salads were tasty but no special in any way and similarly small portions that looked even smaller on the over-sized plate. We finished them quickly and were still hungry. We ordered the creme brulee to fill up which was good but also a small serving for the price. We tried Tempo because it was highly rated by Trip Advisor but I think someone (owners and staff) stuffed the reviews with 4-5 star ratings because it was definitely not up to that standard for us. On the plus side, the server was pleasant, prompt and efficient ... maybe too efficient since we got the vibe they wanted us in and out quickly so the table could go to another couple. Overall, it was good but very ordinary and definitely overpriced for what was served.
I loved this restaurant. Our server, along with the hostesses were excellent and welcoming. The food was delicious and the drinks were great too. I definitely recommend Tempo!
This was hard to review since we were pleased with the food and the service but when I showed my email with our reservation and the reward card the server then the manager they said I needed an actual card. According to Open Table the email showing $10.00 off on the reservation confirmation should have been enough.
Am I missing something when it comes to the rewards?
