The Auld Hundred
The food is fabulous! So fresh and tasty. The staff are very efficient and friendly. I would go back again and again.
Food was delicious and the side vegetables were so fresh.
We were looking forward to our first classic Scottish supper before attending the fireworks concert and chose an Opentable listing. We expected a more elegant environment but initially didn’t mind the rustic tartan decor. A young, lean and heavily tattooed server approached. We came early evening and there were only several diners. So there was no reason for the server to be trite and impatient. Worse yet, when one of us came out of the restroom, we overheard him making insulting and offensive comments about us. He was surprised to see my partner and he never returned to our table. Only the female servers hurriedly finished up with our check. The food was bland and the experience was unpleasant. There were so many dining options and we made a very bad choice that night. At least, the fireworks concert was awesome!
Excellent establishment great food good prices lovely staff
Food nice and hot as always could have had some veg/salad with our fish and chips . Son felt portion sizes smaller than before. Waited a while to be asked what drinks we would like.
Have always liked the Auld Hundred. Food always delicious and home made.
We came with our two grandsons aged 12 and 9 for a meal before getting the train back to the Lake District after a day at the castle. We were served by a very friendly and obliging waitress who quickly got us drinks and took our orders. We were all able to find something we really liked on the menu and the food was excellent. We were served quickly and really enjoyed our meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The food portions have definately improved since our last visit in Feb2019.
If in Edinburgh, this is the place I go every time for lunch or dinner, great food and service.
Very good experience. Been there a few times now. It has the traditional menu my family likes
Food portions have definately shrinked over the years.
Central located cosy restaurant above the pub.
The menu offered a wide choice, including some basic vegetarian options which were nice, we went back twice during our stay in Edinburgh.
The staff were very welcoming
Been quite a few times and loved but this time the food was just okay. It was but dry and like warm
We went on Hogmanay and had a really good decent feed before heading out to party. Thought the restaurant was extremely well-run, really lovely staff on and everything was just great. Will go again. Thanks
