   We always enjoy a nice meal here and the atmosphere is very pleasant. It would be nicer if the wait staff offered drinks on arrival and without having to chase. It would also be good if the wait staff knew what was sold out of before coming to the table as two meals & a coffee couldn’t be ordered and the waiter had to return twice.

   Excellent Beefy Burger, children loved their burgers. Ice cream sundae a treat, milk chocolate milkshake very delicious. Dog was very happy in the space under the bench chairs

    Delicious! Fantastic service, a friendly welcome, homemade great food & lovely chilled, informal atmosphere. Good job guys. You do get what you pay for, and we’re living in expensive times…but you’re probably 10% over us being with you fortnightly. Maybe a treat once a month price bracket.

    They did have a problem with the underfloor heating in the main dining area. So we sat in the bar which was fabulous as we were near the giant pizza oven and could watch them cook .

    My partner and I went for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed; we had the beef roast and chicken burger respectively. The food was well cooked and presented with generous portions. Staff very friendly and helpful.

    Great food although the curly fries were extremely salty. Usually they are pre cooked and dont require additional salt which was added after they had been fried.

    A very disappointing evening celebrating a family birthday. Briefly, having booked ahead and noted it was a birthday celebration on the online booking, not to have this acknowledged at all during the evening was disappointing; the wait for main meals for a group of 5 was unacceptable, at over an hour; when it came, one meal was overcooked, another burnt, but because the wait time for food was so excessive we kept quiet as we couldn't stand another hour to get better quality food and the serving staff didn't return and ask if everything was OK, either. One side dish was missing and had to be asked for. Staff, when they were available were very pleasant and professional. The staff did acknowledge that the wait was unacceptable and offered a free round of drinks, which some of the party accepted, also the missing side dish was provided free of charge because it was so late with the main meals. Due to all the delays, we did not stay for dessert and coffee as we usually do, as it was not an experience we wanted to prolong. Clearly, you did not have sufficient kitchen or waiting staff for the bookings you accepted for that evening. We would rather be declined booking and come when you have capacity than the experience we did with more staff needed.

    The staff are great food perfect, however we waited 15 minutes for our first drink and I had to ask for it after 15 minutes it then arrived a few minutes later which is too long to wait for a drink. We will be back as we love this restaurant.

    We go to the Cricketers regularly but it was really disappointing tonight. One meal was burnt so had to go back, and the other was supposed to come with seasonal veg which turned out to be roughly chopped red cabbage floating in gravy that had been under the lights for so long it had skin on it. A real shame. We got free drinks as a result but would rather have had a successful meal.

    Food took a very long time to appear. We were waiting for over 40 mins before the staff informed us that something we ordered had in fact run out. Food, once arrived was quite nice - burgers just come with fries which looks a bit stingy - a side should be considered too. It wasn't the best experience I've had but not the worst.

    We had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come to our table and take our food order...we told them we were still waiting for someone to come and take a drinks order! Older women waitress was working hard and two young lads were trying when they weren't being distracted by young female waitress. She seemed more interested in chatting to her colleagues than serving customers! Menu choices weren't as varied as they use to be

    The service was slow due to Christmas gatherings. We were made aware of this after already waiting 30 minutes for food. They did provide complimentary drinks by way of an apology which was appreciated

    We had a table for 12 for Sunday lunch. The guests included 2 infants. We were very well looked after from first arriving to when we left. The principle waitress/manger was exceptional. Very friendly and kind. The other staff, including those in the kitchen, were friendly too. I got the impression that they all liked working at The Cricketers. We certainly enjoyed our event .

    We had the Christmas menu. Absolutely lovely food, plentiful, obviously all freshly made. Service very good, although we were the only ones in the restaurant. Great evening all round, will definitely be back.

    Sadly this experience was not the best, arrived before big party and waited for far to long a time to get drinks and then each food course, so slow, one server not pro-active or self motivated, had no knowledge on food or wine, not really busy either 2 small tables of 4 and one large group joined later, if it had been full then what! Overall saying sorry once you forgive but too many times sorry was said as a flippant pacifier to us and blaming large group. If insufficient staff to cope dont book, or expect to take a loss. After protest of disgust they offered one dessert for persons meal that should not have passed kitchen check at the pass it was a burnt dried out chicken meal, horrid, should have replaced whole meal, as accomplements were cold by time new chicken arrived! Common sense replace whole plate! All people in party had to wait for each course and food not piping hot, bit hit and miss, clearly having staff reliability and training issues, very different to the last visit... very disappointing weekday evening meal. Only saving grace is the pretty barn area and festive feel. Sadly, can't suggest at moment with the amount of issues experienced.
