   The service and restaurant was AMAZING. big shout out to Louise and Carlos they treated us amazing with respect, filled all our needs and just were perfect waiters and restaurant servers I’d 100% come again & especially because I know the service is just top tier ! Again, it’s amazing.

   We went to the Ivy as a treat to ourselves last night as we were watching six the musical. I had been saying to my friend that for the quality of the food and service you receive, it’s good value for money. I was extremely disappointed by this experience. We ordered all our food to come together, our starters arrived before our mains. When ordering this we also ordered a bottle of wine. Our drinks still hadn’t arrived before half our food arrived. We were waiting for 15 minutes with our food getting cold as there was an issue with the wine. The wine we had ordered had changed so we were told there was a house rose we could have instead. When this was presented to us it was extremely dark in colour and not to my preference so I didn’t want to pay for a bottle of wine I wouldn’t enjoy. The manager then offered us an alternative that was double the price, I said I’m not comfortable paying for a bottle of wine that’s double the price. The manager proceeded to pressure my friend and I to buy the wine, and not in an up selling way, a pressurising way. We had to be firm and say no. The rest of the meal, we felt the manager was talking about us and made us feel uncomfortable being there. At this point we wanted to eat and pay the bill as the experience had been let down by the service, wine issue and our food coming out at different times. When we received the bill, we had 2 bottles of wine on the bill that we had not drunk. I then asked for this to be removed and the service charge to be removed as this experience kept getting worse and worse and I felt we received awful service from the manager. I fed all this back to the general manager upstairs, who was very apologetic. I was utterly dissatisfied and disappointed with this trip to the Ivy.

   restaurant was very busy but no-one came remotely near us for over ten minutes.... noise was awful difficult to hear anyone speak....table turnover was very poor....tables remained unfilled for nearly fifteen minutes.....they seem very understaffed...but the greeting staff did their best in difficult circumstances......

   Our experience was spoilt by the lack of light, it was so dim that you couldn’t see to read the menu or eat your food. We asked the manager to turn them up a little and he refused ! Felt like cattle being herded and staff waiting for it to go for the table. Haven’t been disappointed before here but was today unfortunately.

    We were celebrating our Sapphire Wedding Anniversary and could not have chosen a better place to do so. The service from Alexander was extremely good- attentive but discreet. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. A gorgeous complimentary celebratory desert was a complete surprise! Our wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was busy but calm and the lighting added to this effect. We would highly recommend The Ivy Market Grill. We’re not surprised it’s hard to get a table- so remember to book well in advance.

    Good choice of food. If you have a booking, I wouldn’t advise arriving any earlier for a drink at the bar as the spaces are very limited so we had to go elsewhere and come back in time for our reservation. Food was unfortunately very disappointing however I couldn’t fault the front of house service. Not sure whether it was just a bad day in the kitchen maybe? Our first time here too which is a shame. Would I come back based on this first visit? Probably not.

    We were seated nearly 15 minutes later than we had booked which meant we had to run to get to the show we had booked which is far from ideal when you have just eaten! Service was good but also quite hot inside the restaurant and tables very close together which makes it awkward to have an intimate conversation!

    Fab pre theatre meal with family , we ate from the set menu , we had to ask for the menu as it wasn’t given with the main menu. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and our 2 course meal with wine for 3 people came to £100. Very well priced for a fab venue with attentive waiters and waitresses

    We’ve been regular visitors to the Ivy when in London. Last nights visit will likely be our last. To cut a long story short three of our party ordered salmon. Once it arrived we found that all were hugely undercooked and extremely raw. We reported this and it was taken away. We were heading to the opera and by the time the replacement salmon arrived we were under a bit of time pressure. The waiter explained that the manager would not charge for the salmon. We finished our meal and requested the bill. This is where the experience took a turn for the worse. The original bill looked very expensive considering 3 of our party of 4’s mains were to be free. A quick check of the bill highlighted we had indeed been refunded for 3 salmons but had been charged for 6. We went back and forth for the next 10 minutes explaining the errors in the bill, yes there were more, and we really didn’t have the time for the hassle. Eventually it was resolved but the overall experience was a total and utter disappointment and certainly not hassle free.

    Service was lacking. Our waiter was very nice, but we waited a very long time for the bill and for any service during the meal. It felt like the staff weren’t managed well and was not up to the level of service we had at other spots during our trip. Food was excellent, and it’s a lovely space with a nice energy to it

    Service was slow. Ran out of time for dessert as the waiters didn't take our order and then had to wait 15 minutes for the bill to arrive after asking twice for it and then a further 15 minutes to blip the credit card, again, after having to ask twice!

    As you would expect, the restaurant was very busy as it was Mother's Day. At my request, we were moved to a new table to enable my Mum to be comfortable (she is disabled). Maggie very kindly helped us with this. We were also very well assisted by Carlos. Our waitress Petya (I hope I have spelt this correctly) was really good at double checking our order and checked back to ensure that we were happy with our meal choices. The best sirloin steak we've had for a long time. The restaurant has a good friendly vibe, music not noisy just right, and we will certainly dine there again. Thanks to all staff for making my Mother's day meal a lovely treat!

    Unfortunately we got off to a rocky start. We arrived ten minutes early for our reservation so we’re asked to sit at the bar whilst our table was made ready which was fine. After 40 minutes of waiting I asked a member of staff what was happening with our table to be told they had sat someone else there due to a mix up. Given we had plans after lunch this was somewhat annoying. The member of staff apologised and said the drinks we had had at the bar would be removed from the bill by way of apology. We were then sat downstairs. Our waitress was lovely. Polite, friendly and thorough. I cannot fault her. We ordered and the food, as always was delicious. When we asked for the bill the drinks that were to be removed were included. I explained and a discount was placed. Overall we had an ok experience but missed our plans afterwards due to being late. I can appreciate it was Mothering Sunday so there were a lot of reservations and staff were stretched but trying to do their best. Hopefully if we visit Market Grill again we’ll have a better experience.

    The staff, tho polite, seemed rushed and under pressure and we had to wait a long time for a food. The waiter was very friendly but was obviously under a lot of pressure as he kept forgetting things. The place is too small and cramped and I won’t be visiting this particular branch again.

    How the Ivy has changed over the years! I first went to the original over 25years ago. What a treat and a special occasion it was. Now it at best is a cafe! The food is sub standard , obviously with this expansion, a lot of cost cutting on quality. Not what it used to be! Will not be returning in a hurry!! Very poor🥲
