The Little Owl
Back for dinner here after a long hiatus. Simply superb - the food, the service, and, most of all, the welcome when we arrived. Every bite was delicious, from the sliders and pear-blue cheese salad to the main courses of salmon and halibut to the dessert of bread pudding. Yes, it's an expensive night out, but worth every penny. We can't what to go back.
The food was GREAT. The service was outstanding. A little noisy, but we could not have had a nicer evening.
As always, Little Owl offers the best service and the finest food in a jewel box of a restaurant that I will return to again and again -- as long as I can get in!!!
Awesome food great service
Always memorable. May be slightly easier to secure brunch reservations. A go-to fir a relaxing Sunday.
Very quaint restaurant located at the bottom of the Friends apartment building. Very small a quite tight when crowded, but the food is awesome and very unique! Great place to bring a date or your wife.
Ordered the pork chops and parts of it were ice cold. Also got the risotto and it was definitely under cooked—> very very al dente
We always have a great time at the Little Owl and food and service is always superb!! This time we felt is was extremely congested and noisy. Maybe Friday night is just too busy for us!!
We still loved our experience and will return!!
It’s good food and nice place but I’m not fond of places rushing me out with giving me the check even before I’m done with my dessert drink (cappuccino). I was there for like an hour! Give me a break. You should give people 2 hours for that kind of price.
Whenever i go to NYC i make a point of eating at The Little Owl! Have been many times and have never been disappointed . Menu changes with seasons and food is always unique, fresh, and delicious!! Staff is friendly, courteous, and helpful. Restaurant is very small so make sure you make a reservation in advance. You will not be disappointed!!! Enjoy!!
Cozy small space gets noisy but food good.
Great small place...fantastic food and service. Highly recommended
Great lunch at the Little Owl. Be sure to get the green beans and the fries.
I love love love the little owl. Always great food and ambiance. I never miss it when I’m in the city. So intimate.
New Year’s Day Brunch
Food is good, but not great. Definitely overpriced. Choice is not big enough. Really poor choice for vegetarians and vegans
This place is worth a stop! Great food! Great people! Great drinks! What else do you want!
Little Owl is one of those neighborhood gems that you don't go to enough times. Always good food. Always friendly staff. Tables are a little cramped around the bar area, but it IS a small restaurant, so I suppose you can't blame them for trying to fill up all floor space as much as possible. I had the beet & bibb salad that was very tasty, followed by the lamb shank that was downright delicious. The au jus with the lamb was soooo good, you almost needed bread to sop up whatever was left on the plate.
BTW, you feel like paparazzi sitting in the restaurant as tourists and "wanna be" people stand outside, constantly taking pictures of the building since it was used in the sitcom, "Friend". Lame.
Outstanding! The food, the service and the accommodations. A very special dining experience.
Adorable restaurant with decent prices for the area., and the staff were super friendly and attentive to our reservation note! Also very well situated near some cool W. Village landmarks!
Dining at The Little Owl is one of life’s great experiences. We return to New York on an annual basis and the first place we make reservations is at this restaurant. It holds a special place in our hearts and always welcomes us back with open arms. For a fantastic evening of delicious food and staff who make you feel like family, look no further than The Little Owl.
Great food and service. Love both the staff and food!
crowded, noisy, and disappointing - very tiny portions, and kind of rushed service
Always delicious! Great neighborhood gem. Food is fresh, tasty and creative. Warm atmosphere. They do amazing in a little space. Highly recommend a trip to the village for the Little Owl.
Probably the all around best restaurant in the city. Super good food and an incredible, efficient, knowledgeable, friendly staff plus terrific ambiance
We went on Christmas night. It was a full house but we had reservations so we got seated right away. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional even on Christmas Day. We ordered the New York strip and the Lamb Chop, both so fantastic! We both had the risotto for our appetizers, delicious! One of our servers was so great with us, he kept us entertained and made sure to take care of us. Love everything about this place, will be making it a regular spot for us. Easy commute for us from Jersey City.
Christmas Dinner. Wonderful !
A little bit expensive, especially the wine. By the way, it was ok.
Happy new year!
Christmas eve diner, the special and the fries was incredible. The dessert spetacular, the pear crisps. The music, decoration and service perfect
Cute typical Village spot ... not huge portions and a bit pricey, that said very good food and cozy feel.
Fabulous from the moment we stepped in to the moment we left . Food , service all above expectations 3 rd time at this quaint spot and just live it
The Little Owl is literally little (I think we counted 30 covers at most) but what it lacks in space it more than makes up for in fabulous food and a great staff. I have been there 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years and it has never disappointed. I probably shouldn't give it such a great review as it will be even harder to make a reservation! A side note...don't be distracted by groups of people standing outside taking photographs. It's not you they've come to see...it's the facade of the building where Friends was shot.
Super friendly and fast but did not feel rushed service. Food beyond delicious. Wonderful experience.
Absolutely exceptional. Took one son out for pre Christmas dinner. He and I both had the whole fish and my husband had the lamb shank plus salads and sides of green beans and fries. All were just delicious. Warm but very professional staff. Cozy. It’s been around a good while but it just seems to get better and better.
Wonderful food, ambience and service. The lamb sandwich was amazing!!
The food and service at The Little Owl was outstanding. However the seating is very cramped and I felt too close to my fellow diners. I even brushed against another person while I tried to put on my coat. I had to go outside to put on my coat.
Very cozy restaurant with excellent food that we have loved since it opened about 12 years ago.
We really enjoyed our visit - staff were excellent and food delicious
Upon arrival we were told we had 15 minutes to order. our party had not completely arrived but were en route. It was not communicated as to why we were hurried.
