   I had the Sunday roast, the first I've ever had being from the US. it was the best roast beef I've ever had. the rest of the meal was perfect as well. what an experience.

   It is a cozy place with a nice atmosphere, however the food was very poor, Mac and cheese was tasteless and very dry, the fish and chips very oily and the batter on the fish was terrible, much too thick and not a nice taste, the chips were ruined by the oily fish being placed on top, I asked for ketchup to hide the taste but it was sour! Not somewhere I would try again

   Sorry ive always gave very positive reviews and been coming for years and never not had a great time but not a great experience yesterday down to inexperienced staff i think and not as pleasant as our usual regular bookings. Hopefully things will improve and front of house staff get as good as they used to be but i guess a lot of new members of team by the look of it. Wont go into long story but we were disappointed during our reservation but at least left went elsewhere and got a seat and enjoyed remainder of our evening

    It’s a great pub, but you need to sort the smell that comes out of the men’s toilets. It reeks and comes in the pub while you’re eating.

    Visiting Edinburgh for our first wedding anniversary. Visited the queens arms for a Sunday roast. We went for the sharing roast and it was outstanding. Beautiful food, great service, very busy but not surprising as it was so good.

    It has always been one of my favourite places, having first visited 52 years ago! I always enjoy my visits here and this time we were having a pre-flight lunch and were enjoying ourselves so much, we almost missed our plane! It's a firm fixture on our calendar - I mean having lunch here, not missing our plane!

    No taps working for draught lager disappointing toilets a lot to be desired place in need of a makeover. on the plus side the staff were brilliant great service. Food was excellent also.

    Had a great Sunday Lunch the food was prepared really well and tasted fantastic. The staff were attentive, friendly and more than helpful. A special thank you to: Chefs Lan, Fonso & Santi for some fantastic food, keep that beef cooking!! Supervisor Yasar and our server Paulina were super helpful and a credit to the Queens arms.     This pub is fast becoming my favourite city centre gathering spot. Massive respect and thanks to the bar staff (and those behind the scenes) who were clearly rushed off their feet, but who all managed to be helpful, efficient and friendly throughout. Not all of us had food but of those who did, the feedback was very positive.

    Didnt have food this time as we had booked a table to watch the rugby. Fantastic atmosphere plenty of staff on so no real wait for service for drinks and cosy as always. Back in few weeks again thank you as always for a great time. Tmc

    I went to the Queens Arms after reading the previous reviews, as I wanted a Sunday roast in a nice pub environment, although the menu may appear to have a limited choice which is probably deliberate to make sure the food is delivered from the kitchen quickly, I visited the Queens Arms on the lunchtime to take a look before me evening booking. The pub was comfortably full at midday, turning away customers looking for a free table without prior booking, when I arrived for my booking at 18:00 the pub was still comfortably full. Once I had eaten the pie of the day to share, it was clear the food and service was excellent with attentive staff, this pub will always be busy with a nice feel so I recommend pre booking, and the food was very good.

    We'd heard great things about the Queen's Arms and were very keen to try it. It was very busy when we arrived, and the waiting staff were run off there feet. As a result, a few of our orders were omitted or forgotten and it was really hard to grab their attention. They then told us we had 5 minutes left at our table which was no problem. We had settled the bill and were just finishing off the dregs of our drinks. The booking didn't have a timeframe, I assume thay was an issue with the system, we were guided by them. 1 minute later the manager came to tell us they needed it straight away. Why not just ask us to move to the bar in the first place? When we went to the bar area, one of our party asked for a drink and the barman put his hand up to our friends face and said 'I'm serving'. It was quite aggressive and unnecessary- he could have just said, I'm serving and I'll come back to you. Overall, the service was poor, it wasn't very friendly and the prices are very high for what you get (£7 per standard larger pint!?). Its a lovely spot, but it's geared towarr the tourist market as opposed to locals.

    Initially felt it was a good pub atmosphere though the volume was really loud in the restaurant. I find the Queens Arms a little pricy, the food is ok but nothing special, the chicken supreme was nothing like chicken supreme & the macaroni was a little tasteless. Also pretty sure we were served a small glass of wine but charged for a large. On the 2nd glass it was served in a beer glass as no wine glasses!!! Haven’t been for a while so wanted to give it a try again but felt a bit disappointed similar to previous visits. Left feeling like I just want this place to be better.

    Enjoyable visit to a traditional pub. We had some sharing plates but not overly impressed. Wine was good at a reasonable price. Good ambience. Excellent place to watch sport but not intrusive if you are not interested.

    Excellent service and outstanding food - the trout was fantastic. Small point hopefully, but the interior was obviously designed at a time when we were all a lot smaller. At 6'6" I struggled into my booth.

    First visit food and service great and staff were lovely. If there was one feedback I did request in booking for not a high seat - we were however put on the very small side table for 2 (not too high) so wasn’t worth mentioning to waiter. However we had the sharing pie so space on table with our drink was difficult had to put drinks menu on shelf and floor, would have been nicer on normal table since there were free tables. So just one to note really for staff to read the booking request but we didn’t feel it was a big deal - we definitely will be back.
