What Insiders Are Saying
As far as classic, good-for-everything establishments go, it’s hard to beat the Wolseley. The breakfasts here are an essential London experience.
The setting was lovely and our waitstaff cordial and efficient. I was encouraged by the waiter to order the sole which was pricier than the entree I was thinking about. It was dry and tasteless. But everything else was delicious. I would return for the ambience alone.
Great Great Great
Great atmosphere and really special. Delicious.
A good type of afternoon tea, the scone and sweets were great, and the sandwiches were all right. It’s a lot for one person such as myself alone as i was, but everything was all right. The price is average and the same as expected/promoted.
Un luogo meraviglioso!
Servizio impeccabile e cibo di alto livello.
Doveroso andare appena possibile
Timeless elegance, amazing ambiance, great service and food from this London gem. A must!
I don't bother to look at the menu any more... schnitzel every time!
Great atmosphere, good selection of food, friendly service however a little slow and pricey.
Beautiful room, quintessentially British
Really loved the setting but I was expecting a little bit more when it came to the quality of the food
Excellent food, great ambience & very personalized service
despite booking in advance was given a poor table by the loos!
my favourite place in London. For all meals, for all events. It is magical.
Just amazing as I expected. Very good food, excellent service and the best location.
Excellent food (oysters), service
Love the Wolseley!!
Great as always.
Decent food great venue, and excellent in price.
Poor scrappy service
Great food and lovely to be remembered by staff following our private dining experience however the attending waiter was poor with slow service and inattentive to drinks and such like. Surprising given your normalcy high standards.
I have been to the Wolseley some time ago, but my visit last week was disappointing. The staff were not attentive at all. The food is ok, but very pricey for what you get. There is a cover and service charge, which I knew about, but on this occasion was not happy about.
It is a beautiful room but the acoustics are terrible and the noise level very high, making it difficult to have a conversation. I will not be rushing back there.
Great place to relax in London.
Average at best
An excellent experience lovely food in stylish surroundings, the only mild criticism I would make was that it was impossible to get a 125 glass of wine the staff did not seemed to have been properly briefed on this
I booked this place for my sister who was visiting from Australia. We have dined here a few times before and its been a favourite. The food, staff, ambience didn't disappoint and it maintains our favourite restaurant in London, and ticks all the boxes.
Thank you so much for great dining experience. We will be back again soon :)
Great experience as usual, always good. The afternoon tea is very good.
no visit to London would be complete without a visit to the Wolseley
Kind & efficient personnel, splendid food, fine premises, premium location
Food was overpriced, salty, and horrible. The only thing good about this place is the interiors.
Iconic, fantastic location, beautiful historic building, The original Wolseley car showroom from the early 20th century
Had a bacon and egg sandwich. Bacon was burned!! I had a tight schedule so did not complain.
Wonderful evening - highly recommend for occasion or date night dining
Our 1st trip to London
Food is decent but service is terrible. They forgot our orders and we had a second waiter come and re take our orders. Next small things like tea refills and butter or sauces took awhile to be given. We were seated at a table in a smaller dining area where there were no servers in sight.
Location and setting are superb. The pastries/sweets were really good. However, the whole experience has been knocked down by the terrible service. The waiter was grumpy and missed out 2 orders out of 3. If there is a table of 3 for the afternoon tea how can you think the party has ordered only 1tea? I had to ask a different waiter who thankfully promptly reacted. But that was not over as during the afternoon the same waiter who missed out the 2 teas: 1) took away plate and napkin to one guest with no reason; 2)forgot to bring clotted cream and jam with the scones; 3)forgot to bring the bill and had to ask a second time to another waiter (total wait for the bill 40 minutes!). They charge you 12,5% service when the service is utterly embarrassing.
Having tried lunch, afternoon tea and dinner it was time to sample breakfast. A relaxing morning ambience , delightful professional staff, scrummy food and reasonable pricing. A great way to start a day in busy London. My clever NZ relatives sent me the perfect birthday gift voucher. Well done to the Wolseley team once again.
Front desk person was great about accommodating my later schedule.
Food was tasty as usual. Kedgeree was flavorable, fresh and delicious.
Service once seated overall very poor. The first wait person who took my order was lovely. But he disappeared. Perhaps shift ended?
The subsequent wait person was uncommunicative and primarily absent. Came by once to refill my water glass, so perfunctory and inattentive that he didn’t notice as he plunked down the pitcher that it splashed my hand.
And then he was gone and came back at the very end to run my card through the machine.
In the meantime, had to flag two separate waiters to eventually get my bill (which took about 10+ minutes).
And except for that water pour, no check-ins/follow up from the waitperson or captains or anyone.
Unfortunately, not the hospitable and competent Wolseley I remember.
Busy and popular eatery. Food is mediocre and not the greatest of value. Pleasant experience though.
Service was great. Was disappointed by the Salmon I had. My friend has the grilled chicken sandwich the chicken tasted like charcoal
