What Insiders Are Saying
As far as classic, good-for-everything establishments go, it’s hard to beat the Wolseley. The breakfasts here are an essential London experience.
Was so looking forward to our visit as we have dined here many times, however, our meal was spoilt by a very sour faced 'waitress' who, when I asked why she looked so unhappy and could she not smile, I was met with the response, I am here to take your order, thats all ! I asked to see the manager who was VERY apologetic and we were given another young lady, who was perfect. So, in summery, an evening spoilt, and of course, we tell everyone about it. Hence this review. Leave your troubles outside of work.
never disappointed with The Wolseley - always great customer service and ambience
Long time patron but won’t return.
Too many venues in Mayfair that know how to treat their guests to settle for arrogant inattentive service.
Too bad, used to be a favorite of the wife.
It was great as usual
My entrecote steak had a lot of gristle in it - not what I expect when paying £30 for an average cut of beef. My wife had a dish with broccoli which was so hard she could not cut them - they were not cooked properly but were taken back and replaced satisfactorily.
My ultimate favorite!
Great atmosphere and food was excellent as was the service. Would return on my next visit.
The Wolseley is my favourite restaurant in London it’s informal but sophisticated great simple food and I always have the same food now I have tried most of the dishes but have my favourite each time I visit staff are friendly professional and Charing when I bring my kids for lunch.
Excellent service, lovely food. Macaroons for birthday.
we went for breakfast on a Sunday morning, booked 2 days in advance and the only time available was 9am so be sure to book further in advance if you can’t stand too early hours!
The food was excellent, however the waiters seemed a bit annoyed and never had a smile or whatsoever... understandable considering it such a busy place
Food was good, my chicken was moist and the John Dory fillet was better. For dessert the Carmel eclair was very good. Tables are extremely close so be prepared to share your conversation as well as the tables next to you. Service was good.
Busy place but great atmosphere, best if you’re not in too much of a hurry. Best for those who want to appreciate the beautiful building and interior.
Fantastic atmosphere and service. It’s my mom’s birthday celebration. She’s so happy to have it there.
As usual just fabulous!
The food was good but the service was the worst experience I have ever had
It was wonderful enjoyed breakfast service was excellent
I took my Mom here for brunch. Everything from the ambiance to the food was impeccable. The pancakes are to die for.
The gentle Doorman was treat and must be thanked, Such a welcoming start to an evening.
Excellent service, not crowded, attentive and welcome.
Food all good.
Great lunch, sommelier was outstanding, deep and broad knowledge of our favourite wines. Pleasure to talk to him about good Italian wines, and even better to know he came from around Amalfi.
Excellent English experience!
Perfection as always . Love the place and the atmosphere !
Outstanding tea outstanding service
A true classic tea. Lovely presentation classic sandwiches. Scones are perfect
My colleagues and I were all quite disappointed with our food. Whilst presented well, the food was very salty and nothing special. I have had far better meals in less expensive restaurants. Felt we were paying for the ambience.
Good full English breakfast, fantastic ambiance, my husband and I enjoyed it greatly
Fabulous. My husband and I had a wonderful meal food was delicious and service was excellent
Always a winner. Often a glam crowd at the Wolseley, but it doesn't matter because the room is gorgeous with all the mirrors and soaring ceilings. The food is precisely perfect and the service helpful and not stuffy. Love this place.
Tea with a visitor
Very expensive. But staff are wonderful.
We went for a late lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was excellent . The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and did not rush us. The ambience is busy, but not noisy like some popular places as the tables are well spaced out. . The menu is not huge , but very varied , catering for all tastes. My wife had a complimentary pudding as I had advised them it was her birthday . We could not have wished for a better celebration lunch.
Wonderful hospitality, service and food!!
A London favorite!
I was very disappointed. Terrible service and food was not amazing.
We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. It has a great pulse, great service and excellent food too.
Outstanding service @ The Wolesley yesterday, surpassed their usual high standard! Lovely food, cooked and presented beautifully. If you have never been, I would recommend it, it never disappoints!
Lovely up until the end of our meal when they disappeared, and we couldn’t find anyone to bring our check and forgot a glass of wine for the table.
See and be seen
I just love The Wolseley! The buzzing atmosphere, great service, friendly members of staff, and delicious food all make for a memorable experience.
Great service good food and for LONDON a fair price.
Great place to have a productive business breakfast. Service is attentive and efficient and the food always meets expectations.
Excellent for a treat. Great decor, great atmosphere, very good service, food and wine. Only two slight criticisms: our wine was left in an ice bucket elsewhere but our glasses were left empty on one occasion (once I pointed it out had no more problems); the kedgeree was fine but lacked real flavour.
