Tilikum Place Cafe
The server was slow, attended tables that came after me before bringing me my coffee. It was pretty annoying, they got all their stuff first and I came first then them. Food was okay, coffee was good.
Loved the ambiance, great service, food great from appetizer to dessert.
Great food, superb service and reasonable prices. The menu is a little limited so the specials help increase the choices for returning customers. Very cozy warm place.
We LOVE your restaurant!! Everything was amazing!
This is the best restaurant in Seattle
This is our second time at Tilikum and we look forward to the enticing menu. We had the cauliflower and octopus special as appetizers that kept our forks moving at full speed to grab up all the yumminess. We ordered the braised pork cheeks which were indescribably tender and had a great flavor. However, the pork cheeks were over salted to the point where it was difficult to eat - we couldn't figure out whether it was just the sauce or the cheeks as well. We also ordered a side of beans which were outstanding. Service excellent albeit a bit spaced out but it was busy that night. This won't keep us from going back but the salty pork cheeks were surprising.
The food was excellent. The server was exceptional. Could explain items on the menu. He made the meal even more enjoyable. We were seated promptly at our reservation time.
Been there a few time for dinner this was my first lunch.....excellent soup and sandwich ...yum yum, price was also OK and the service terrific...definitely a great lunch place.
It was our first time there for lunch (on a Monday). The food was absolutely terrific!! We look forward to returning.
This is a reliably excellent bistro. Friendly, with a neighborhood feel. It is our favorite place for our visits to Seattle for concerts and plays. Food very well prepared and presented. Creative menu, and the wine list always has good Washington presentations.
Excellent meal as always...restaurant is always a tiny bit cold so reqeuest
I love this restaurant. So much so, that even though my girlfriends took me here for lunch on my birthday, less than a week later I took my husband for his birthday - two visits in one week - and we had to drive down from Shoreline on a Friday afternoon in i5 traffic. That's how much I love this place. Our server for my birthday lunch (I think his name was Mario? I know his nickname was "Super Mario" - it came up) was fabulous! A great waiter - friendly, attentive, very knowledgable about the dishes, never made us feel rushed - and we girls always linger when we get together. He was great. Our server for my husband's lunch, not so much. She was okay, but it was one of those experiences where she seemed pretty disinterested in us until the end when she laid the bill down (tip time) and finally smiled and looked us in the eye. I'm a friendly person, as is my husband, we're always conversational with servers - this one was having none of it. She would not engage. It wasn't that she was rushed, she was just "elsewhere" and irritated. Usually looking somewhere other than at us as she rattled off specials or took our order. If she ever smiled, it was forced and brief. Maybe she was just having a bad day. This is the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars in this review. Because beyond that, the bloody marys were perfection and the food was delicious. I had the fry up with melted Beecher's cheddar on the toasts, and the previous weekend, I'd had the baked eggs - both were scrumptious. But admittedly, I was so full after both meals I could hardly breathe! Maybe don't try to eat it all in one sitting, as I did. My own darn fault. My husband had the halibut salad sandwich and tomato bisque - so good. Also, they have the best bacon ever. It's nice to have a few, true Seattle-vibe spots left here. It's all changing so much and so fast. The soul of this city still remains in places like Tilikum Place Cafe, providing you get one of the good servers...
My favorite lunch spot - a Seattle gem! I can't think of a better place to dine.
The best quiche I have ever had!
Food was wonderful. Our waitress seemed irritated to be waiting on us... Service was poor.
I hate giving this place 5 stars- not because it doesn’t deserve it - because it definitely does - but because it may get harder to get a table. Innovative dishes. Perfectly prepared and expert and attentive service. Enough said! Love this place. Don’t tell anyone
The flavors were great and the menu had a good variety of food. The creme brulee and chocolate dessert were also fantastic.
Our favorite restaurant!! the food is amazing. love the simple neighborhood feel and adore the people working here at this special place.
We eat before our subscription to opera. We had great service and wonderful food. It is our new go to place before opera.
The pasta appetizer is the BEST! Service was excellent too. Overall we had a wonderful experience and have recommended Tilikum to anyone going to Seattle.
Great experience for a lovely lunch on a cloudy day!
As ever, the food here is consistent and worth coming back for. The wait staff, however, is often unfriendly and off-putting. It doesn't stop this from being one of my favorite lunch spots, but I wouldn't mind a little more warmth from the people working here.
Engaging knowledgeable staff. Stupendous food flavors. Dim lighting just right. If the reservation is available stop reading this and book it now.
This is my current favorite restaurant for two people or a small group. A real hidden gem.
We loved the vibe in this cozy and friendly restaurant that reminded us of a bistro in Paris...the food was delicious, especially the baked oysters with miso aioli which were AMAZING! Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and yet professional.
Tilicum always feels like visiting a favorite old friend who is a great cook... welcoming comfortable and delicious.
This place is a Jem. Incredible service and great food.
This is a great place with a cozy atmosphere with good food and great coffee. Our problem was our server. I told her exactly how I wanted my poached eggs, which she assured me that the chef would do. They did not come out even close to what I had requested. After most of our entire meal was eaten and we were waiting for our Dutch Baby, I had to call her over to ask her about it. She gave me that dear in the headlights look like she had forgotten but didn't admit she had forgotten. If she had and let us know, we would not have waited the extra 20 minutes after we completed our meal. She gave me the vibe like she was irritated with me for being irritated over the lateness of it arriving without any apology and just an ineffectively covered up bad attitude masked behind a fake smile. The server was the buzz kill of my first time at Tilikum Place Cafe.
Great place for date. Food was superb and service was very friendly. Large windows provide great views of space needle and fun people watching. Would definitely come back again.
Really good food/drink menu. The weekend special we had for brunch was AWESOME. I had the salmon eggs benedict and my boyfriend had the pork belly skillet which was so good. Also ordered original dutch baby with lemon and syrup and it was sooo good. Planning to come back for sure. Just wish we had been checked up a little more but overall, a good experience.
It was great. Service was just right and servers in gaged. Nice little place! Food came out with good timing and was delicious.
I had read the Dutch Babies were the thing to try here. My husband got the savory (bacon, broccoli, and cheese) and I got the sweet (apple, cranberry, oatmeal topping). The eggy part of the Dutch Baby was fine. The food gets 3 stars because there needs to be much more of the filling part (whether it's savory or sweet) to the dish. Out of the two dishes, my sweet one was better. The savory one really lacked on ingredients.
The ambiance is charming. The service was fine. Improve the proportion of ingredients in your Dutch Babies and we'd be back. For now, we'll try other places in Seattle before we return.
Excellent ingredients, house-made staples, and creative, flavorful specials. Plus wonderful staff.
My high-maintenance foodie self always leaves content. :)
Food is very good. Dutch baby and soups was special! but staff little attentive. recommend for visitors to enjoy Seattle
I enjoy this place a lot! It’s bright and cozy, the food and service is good, it doesn’t feel crowded or noisy when it’s busy.
I have came here on my birthday every year for the past ten years. It's my favorite place in the city.
Time and time again, Tilikum delivers! We love the friendly, comfortable, neighborhood vibe and the unpretentious and low key ambience. Most importantly, everything on the small menu looks and dates divine! We try to come here every time we journey to Seattle from Portland.
Wonderful food and wait service. Looking forward to going back!
I try to dine here a couple of times a year, and each time I do it is a wonderful experience. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. It is a gem of a restaurant in a intimate, downtown setting.
A must visit cafe if you appreciate the finer things in life! The qulaity of the food, the service and the space itself is memorable.
