This restaurant is an absolute delight. The environment is very modern, simple and clean lines. The welcome and service was exemplary. I would call the cuisine modern rather than Italian. I feel the restaurant would be better promoted if it was not labelled as "Italian". There were two fixed menus and we chose the smaller one. The dishes were still adequate for a very satisfying meal. The wine list features Japanese wines of very high quality. The sommelier was outstanding-very knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Do yourself a favour and go to this wnderful restaurant! It was much more ambitious a restaurant than we expected, but the owners could not have been more welcoming -- we speak no Japanese, so they communicated using translations on their phones. We also did not expect a fixed-price menu, so they adjusted the number of courses to meet our budget. Sake was excellent, and the food was sensational. We had many great tastes, but the best may have been the tempura uni in a shiso leaf and the duck with mustard seeds and asparagus. MoreOpenTable Diner -

To be honest, we were excited and quite nervous to be dining in this restaurant, as we are two foreigners visiting Tokyo and upscale restaurants can act a bit cold to foreigners. However, the people there were friendly and very attentive, much to our surprise. The atmosphere was casual and intimate. It was not too formal and uptight for a Michelin star restaurant, which we love! We could relax and enjoy our meal. The food was superb. We especially love the focaccia bread and pasta. They made our day! We also ordered the osso buco for our main dish (we shared it because we are not big eaters) and it was just splendid. One of us was having a birthday and they gave us two complimentary glasses of dessert wine from France, it was very sweet of them. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Tokyo and we cannot wait to return! MoreOpenTable Diner -
