The restaurant is run by owner-sommelier Yasushi Yatabe, who honed his skills at L’ecrin Ginza, and chef Katsuyoshi Yamada, ex-deputy head chef at Restaurant Feu. The restaurant they have created together aims to be a place in which comfort and coziness are more important than high-class French exclusivity or a French style bistro ambience. KINKA is a “grown up’s hideaway”. Anchan, the anglerfish, welcomes you as you enter. The Anglerfish lives in the deep sea, and because it is not a good swimmer, it gets through the day by emitting a soft glow and nestling itself into the sand as it patiently waits for food.
