Perfect in every where. Fantastic food and service. Really good set menus too.
As it was a birthday celebration we opted for the 5-course tasting menu with wines. At £45 plus £32 for the wines it was good value and all the courses were something I would order. We were there for 4 hours rather than the allocated 2 and the staff were very good about it. A great evening.
Really good, took my parents for a treat ok the set menu and the food was great. We arrived at 7 on a Sunday and the restaurant wasn’t very busy, it got busier as the evening went on and the atmosphere and ambience was really good. Our only complaint was that the coffees weren’t as great as they had been when we went before but otherwise we all really had a nice time.
Had lovely long lunch with friends.
The service was lovely and food was excellent. The 3 course lunch deal was good value otherwise it would been on little expensive side.
The ambiance may be bit noisy when the restaurant is very busy.
I would happy eat here again. All in all very pleasant lunch.
Top notch food including the salted caramel/honeycomb desert that i had last time. Ambience ok for family do. Service professional but not v personal/warm.
I’ve been here a few times and it was very average on this visit which is a shame!
Lovely food, staff overly attentive making you feel uncomfortable. Over priced and we didn’t receive our dessert cocktail with our dessert. Lighting was awful, not ambience - no candles on the second floor (first floor lovely!)
Post theatre dinner with friends, ideal for lots of West End theatres.
Courtesy call the day before to check we were still coming.
All staff very friendly from that call right through to collecting our coats at the end.
Opted for the 3 course set meal which included a cocktail which on that day gin & lime, a gimpty? Very nice.
Cod cheeks were so tasty as were the prawns for starter
Two of our party choose the vegetarian option, it tasted as good as it sounded. And two for the lamb, I was too slow to get a taste but clean bones said it all.
Room for desert, of course, salted caramel ice cream with honeycomb scattered on top was yummy as was the deep fried rum baba with lemon curd in. Had a little taste of those but pear and honey cake was delicious.
Will definitely be visiting again on our next theatre trip
Went for Birthday lunch.
The experience was spot on from start to finish. Very quiet in there mid-week; so an intimate experience which was fine by us.
Great. Food delicious. Quality restaurant.
Excellent food, good atmosphere and good value for money
Excellent nothing more to say
Very nice location
Had a super dinner at Tredwell's before a going to see SIX at the Arts Theatre. Although we had to work quite hard to get the staff's attention, once we did they were very helpful! We only managed 2/3 courses from the prix fixe menu, but they gave us a discount on the bill which was greatly appreciated. Would definitely go back. Lovely food selection and beautiful dishes.
Gosh. This place sucked. Slow service. Poor food... Over salted, over-charred or bitter or cold . Drinks took ages to come. There was nothing good about this place. Manageress, while very nice, didn't seem to have control of her wait staff. We felt like we paid 100 pounds each to dine at zizzi's
Lovely atmosphere, excellent service and attention to detail.
Food was really good, however expected a bit more in terms of quality.
The chouxnut dessert was delicious, stand out dish for me.
Had a lovely time. Was very quiet but I guess it was an early week, early lunch. The service was good, a little over bearing when the waiter asked me three times if I was sure I didn’t want anything to drink whilst I wait for my friend to arrive.
The food was fantastic, we both had the three courses for £29 deal. Cod cheek to start, sea bream for main and salted caramel with honeycomb for desserts. Delicious.
Great location bring in the heart of Covent Garden.
Great food but slow service
Food was very good, service was excellent. We especially appreciated the attention to detail and helpfulness shown by Valentina.
staff were very attentive and polite and up for a good laugh with the table
We had booked a pre-theatre table at 5.45pm. Unfortunately, our train broke, so we were delayed, but arrived just before 6pm, but they had already given our table away. The front-desk staff did find another table but service was a little slow and random from this point onwards. We ended up abandonning the set-menu option - not enough time - and ordered from the al la carte: a rib-eye (£33) with peppercorn sauce. I got so little sauce, from a £4.00 extra, that I owuld have sent it back except for the fact there was so little time left this would have made us late. In summary, incredibly expensive for what we had, which was nice, but so many better choices available in London.
Tredwells lived up to our expectations and was a culinary delight. The service was as good as you would hope for and we had a lovely evening. Definitely one to savour and we will return
We both enjoyed the “Vegwells” plant-based tasting menu, and there are also vegan options on the A la Carte that we’ll try on our next visit. Very convenient location for pre-theatre and pre-opera dining with friendly welcoming staff.
Booked for a group before a trip to Comedy Store. We had the 3 course plus a cocktail deal for £29.50. It was incredible food and the Gunpowder Gimlet cocktail was amazing. Really great experience
Staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the food on the menu. Food was unusual and deliciously memorable.
Excellent food cooked beautifully with attentive service in a comfortable dining room. My wife and I had a great evening here , would definitely recommend.
My partner & I were thrilled with the the 3 course + cocktail menu. Everything was delicious & expertly crafted. We even tried, in vain, to recreate our fabulous Gimlet cocktails at home! Table service was second to none & thoughtfully attentive throughout our visit. The location is a nice bonus too, perfect for so many West End theatres.
Thought the deal offered of a three course dinner plus cocktail for two at £58 seemed like good value for a Marcus Wareing outlet. It wasn't really, we decided that vegetables/sides were essential at £5 each portion as was the supplement for Hanger Steak. With wine by the glass only served in 125ml glasses at a minimum of £5.50 we opted for two carafes. Out total bill came to £122.63. However, the food represented chain bistro quality and the wine cheap plonk!
We absolutely loved the food at Tredwells--it was imaginative and really delicious. We were going for a pre-theatre dinner so arrived at 6. However, the service was very slow indeed and we had to keep reminding them that we were there. They were good natured and tried their best, but it made for a slightly stressful dinner. If we weren't going on to the theatre we wouldn't have minded the length of time to receive the food and probably would have enjoyed the food more. The salted caramel ice cream was wonderful to end with.
Pre theatre dinner on Monday night. Food was fine, nothing exciting.
This is always one of my favourite places to celebrate birthdays in London. Good food, attentive service and great price. A lovely evening, and they were happy to accomodate any necessary changes for dairy free and alcohol free diners.
Vegan menu was dreadful. Just bad cooking throughout. Table of 6 thoroughly disappointed. Service was good when the manager took over but that will only ever count for so much when the food was so below average. Embarrassing to have taken guests there.
Delicious food as always and great staff!
Everything very well organised and professional and a good location. Lunch menu was well executed but you do need to invest in a couple of sides. Loved the cocktail that was included in the lunch price nad well done the waiter who suggested we have it with the desserts.
The food was not as good as last time I came. Very salty and over seasoned. The service was too intrusive with constant water filling. The waiter was unsure how to address us calling my friend Miss which seemed unusual. I was disappointed because the food is normally so good. I had the set meal parsnip and pancake both salty. My friend had pork and charred cabbage which she couldn’t eat because of its bitterness. Pudding was fine. Ambience nice. I was thinking of coming here with my professional leadership team and parents and family but will now reconsider which is s shame.
We took 3 kids for a nice meal and they all had the tasting menu. It was an amazing first foray into fine dining for them (ages 6-8) and we were elated with the experience. Our waitress was lovely and the good was delicious. We will definitely retro again.
Enjoyable, buzzy brasserie, well-spaced by Theatreland standards, and with engaging staff. Food on our Saturday evening dinner varied from really enjoyable to really dull. Perhaps a slight tendency to try to be a bit too clever?
Popped in for dinner after a show, the team there were excellent and we easily managed to find options for my wife (vegetarian) and my 9 year old. the food was very flavoursome. overall a very enjoyable meal
This has got to be one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in London, the food was outstanding and the whole experience was thoroughly worth it.
The staff were nice and helpful however the food was not good. I couldn’t eat half of my main course (pork) because it was so undercooked. I told the waitress and she said she would feed it back to the chef but that was it! I left hungry.
