Trento Italian American Retro
I enjoyed Trento, it was great food. However, I do believe that Trento is overpriced. The price of the meatball (I believe $22) is excessive. I understand it was Kobe or Waygu beef, but it didn't taste much different than a regular meatball that I've had at other Italian restaurants. I truly enjoyed the Truffolini meal. It was fantastic and delicious. My boyfriend had the scallops and they were good as well.
I have eaten at Trento many times and I am always pleased. Their food is delicious and flavorful. We had the giant kobe meatball and shrimp & lobster stuffed artichoke apetizer special and both were delicious. Entrees were great too. Ask to have Nicolette as your server. She is amazing... great personality and efficient service. The food and Nicolette are the reasons I keep coming back.
Had dinner there on sunday. Food and service was good as always, but the entries are pricey. $23 for chicken parm without pasta. That was extra.
Entrees were good. Dessert menu was terrible. Wouldn't go back .
The food was quite good but expensive. The bartender very carefully measured a shot for my drink....very tacky. Service was adequate but not better. The ambiance was quite nice.
We were seated immediately. Wait service outstanding. Described each dish accurately. Food was delicious. It was presented flawlessly. Would highly recommend Trento to anyone.
Went for my 32nd anniversary and asked for a nice seat. Got one right across from the bar and next to a noisy child. Not exactly a romantic evening. Also, the music was too loud with an empty restaurant. As the place filled with people it was not so bad.
Very nice of them to dress up our dessert for our anniversary.
Really outstanding food and service!
Yes, I'd recommend it and go again!
Our waitress was extremely personable and attentive
The must have dish is the kobe meatball appetizer. Delicious. all main courses are good from the pasta to my favorite the veal chop. For a perfect ending go with the diplimatico napoleon.
Well worth the money
My most recent visit was a disappointment. One of our party ordered the linguine with clam sauce and the server properly notified her that it was spicy...my friend asked for less spice. When the meals were served, that entree did not appear and an apology was offered however the rest of the party was finished by the time the dish appeared. The pasta was soggy although the sauce was tasty. For dessert we decided to share the profiterole....unfortunately neither the menu nor the server informed us that the cream used was hazelnut which I am extremely allergic to and which is an unusual filling for the dish. Neither an apology nor an accommodation was made for any of these issues. I had been there several time in the past but will not return soon
Just delicious. Excellent, attentive service. Truly outstanding cuisine. Definitely not your basic neighborhood trattoria.
The service, the food and the environment were all great. Just seemed a little pricey for two salads, two entrees and a bottle of wine. Will save it more for 'special occasions'.
very limited menu
The food was good, had lamb chops, scallops, veal chop. Dinners do not include anything , all sides and/or salads are ala carte. it will add up!!!!
Great food!! Great service!
Our waitress just couldn't do enough for us. So observant and attentive. Just terrific. The Happy Hour crowd can get quite boisterous so if your're looking for a quiet romantic dinner, this is not the place. But if you want an energetic, fun filled crowd, go for it!
Very good continental menu, nice variety and great service . My family loves dining here- we eat here quite a bit and the food quality is always consistent , definitely recommend .
The last two times my husband and I ate here, we were disappointed. The first experience they ran out of special veal chop by 830. How do you run out of a special that early. When we complained no other offer given. Just last evening my husband ordered the rib eye for two. For 100.00 steak it should come out how it was ordered. He ordered medium and it came back mostly well done. When he made the waitress Amanda aware of this, she let the chef know and came back to us and said "that's the way the chef said it should be cooked"! My filet mignon dish came with what they called a Mac n cheese truffle! It looked like soupy Kraft Mac n cheese from box! Very disappointed and embarrassed we recommended to our friends who were there for their first time and not impressed. Btw no buy backs at the bar either. Was sitting there for an hour six drinks $100.00!
Duck gnocchi was awesome - good sizes
My husband and I, in our sixties and over six feet tall were seated at a small cocktail table for dinner. These small tables were added to the floor for Valentine's Day, (we had been here before with another couple so we knew that these were not normal). When we asked if we could be seated elsewhere and were told no, the other tables were for 4 people, mean while there were several tables for 4 which were left open for over an hour. We were constantly bumped by waiters and other quests as they tried to get through the narrow openings between tables. Service was spotty, we had to flag someone down for water, and the waitress didn't return to see how liked our meal until she cleaned the table.
Not going back.
Good. Will eat here again.
Overall good experience
I enjoyed dining at Trento's. The food was delicious . We had crab cakes , calamari, tuna Tatar , rack of lamb. The drinks were expensive and the martini glass was small but the service and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family!! I can't wait to go back there. The server was very sweet and great at his job. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. It felt very nice and romantic , the lighting is perfect.
We were surprised to find Trento has been at its location for 3 years and we live 2 miles away!
The sign does not say it is a restaurant and that location had been various clubs in the past so it was easy to assume it was another club. So happy a friend recommended it to us. For starters we had the kale Caesar, meatballs and another salad - all very good and large portions. My husband had the veal chop parmesan which was enormous and outstanding. I had the dover sole, amazing! Two other dishes at our table were also very good. We are world traveler foodies and this ranks high on our neighborhood list. Thanks Jeff for the amazing service, we will be back!
Delicious food and good service. Pricey but worth it. Will return.
The appetizer sampler they were offering that evening was delicious!! Mini versions of their Kobe meatballs, skirt steak, crab cakes, a dumpling of sorts with pear, shrimp cocktail...yummy!!
The waiter we had had zero personality. I almost felt like we were and inconvenience. I felt that the food was overpriced for what you get. Chicken parm, with no pasta?! What?! An extra $8.00 to have pasta added. Drinks were overpriced and didn't taste great. I wont be going back.
Started off with italian bread that had just the right amount of garlic, followed by black mussels in a white garlic sauce. The mussels were very tender and the sauce was excellent, however it could have used a touch more garlic. For the main entree, rigatoni alla vodka, and chicken parmigiana. The rigatoni was perfect, with Prosciutto in a nice thick sauce with the perfect amount of creamer. The chicken parm was very good, and crispy not soggy in a nice read sauce with a decent amount of mozzarella cheese.
Have visited 3x. Food is always first rate. Expensive, but a special place.
Outstanding food. Exceptional service. It's a little pricier than a typical Italian restaurant but you absolutely get what you pay for. Great place for a celebration or business meeting. The staff is dynamite. I'll continue to come back. They never disappoint.
Always a nice time. Trento is one of my go to places when I'm in the are. Food is good. However not consistent. I am upset to see that the Kobe meatball appetizer no longer is served by the chef. This was my second time there without the delivery. That was a signature and should have stayed that way. We first came for that. Tonight we felt the meatball was slightly bland, the trofolini is one of our favorite pasta dishes and Tonight it was on the money. I tried something new today., The gnocchi. Very good!!! We had a new face for a waiter. For a Friday night not being overly busy he wasn't on point. No bread and we had to serve ourselves our meatball. (He was "caught up").
Favorite dishes -Kobe meatball, tuna tartar, trofolini, sea scallops over risotto, Chilean sea Bass, chicken Bruchetta, gnocchi . Cannoli is very good as well
Overall enjoy Trento for "our" original Trento dishes!
This restaurant has a diner look to it. Very cold inside. Quite expensive for what you are getting.
This was my first time dining at Trento and the experience was fine; the food was very good and the service was, as well. My issue was the traffic on Rte. 110. I had a 6:30 reservation and was only coming from Melville but it took me close to 30 minutes to go several miles. While my overall experience while at Trento was very good, I would be very inclined to dine elsewhere on business days.
We have been to Trentos numerous times and they do not disappoint.
Everything at Trento's was great. Appetizers were terrific as were the drinks. Our waitress was excellent and has a wonderful smile and a very winning attitude. She helped to make a very good dining experience more pleasurable
I LOVE this place. Every single item (for real, everything) has been delicious. The wine and drink menu has been just as enjoable. The service has been responsive and helpful. But really it's the food that keeps me coming back!
You could easily have a ladies night out or a romantic dinner for two and feel satisfied with the atmosphere. You can also spend $200 on two (which my boyfriend and I did) or at little as $30 per person (which I just did with my ladies). The bar isn't a happening place for a 20 something, but is conducive to a great conversation between two people over a glass of wine.
I LOVE Trento. Love. I woke the next morning after eating at Trento and pondered moving to Farmingdale so I could eat every meal there. I'm not exaggerating. It's a nice space-- room for large groups or for a romantic rendezvous. We had a reservation and were brought to our table in the middle of a large room. We were placed next to a table of 4 and shortly after we sat, 4 more folks were seated right next to us. Frankly, if the people at the nearby tables spoke at a normal decibel it probably wouldn't have been a problem, but they didn't. One woman in particular just talked incessantly and I feel like if we'd been spaced a little further away from each other, she wouldn't have been such a distraction. Our server was personable and knowledgeable. We had the French Onion Soup, the burrata and the tuna tartare. We ADORED the melt-in-your-mouth burrata. We gushed over the small accoutrements on the plate that just enhanced the already delicious and creamy cheese. The tuna tartare is the reason why I gave the food one less star than perfect. It was chewy. I have eaten tuna tartare 100 times in my lifetime and I've rarely met one I didn't like. I didn't like the texture at all. I'm guessing it was the way it was cut, but it was tough. My friend ordered the lamb chop special which was pricey but there was enough food for my friend to be able to bring home some leftovers. My partner ordered the short rib special (ricotta cavatelli). It is a dish I will not soon forget. I cannot even put into words how delicious it was. SERIOUSLY. My bronzini dish with lobster pieces (another special) was just short of being as amazing as the short ribs, but it was delicious, delicate and exactly what I had hoped for. The portion was 3 pieces--2 would have probably been enough, but I'm not complaining. Our dessert was the rainbow cake, the gelato and the oreo cheesecake. All very delicious. The cocktails were tasty but expensive. We'll surely go back.
The waiter was on top and very helpful. The sampler appetizer gave us a good taste of the variety they offer. The truffolini was awesome as was the wine suggestion from our waiter
We've been to Trento twice now. Most recently for an early Sunday night dinner. The service is excellent, our server was extremely friendly and helpful. Food is excellent also. Portions are a bit large. We had chicken cutlet parmigiana, chicken franchese, pasta with short ribs, and pasta with vodka sauce. We also had gelato for dessert. We enjoyed every bite!
