Trento Italian American Retro
the menu is very limited the salmon was very good but i didnt want salmon in an Italian restaurant, i wanted a tortellini dish which they didnt have. the waitress was very good.
We've been wanting to check this place out for months and decided to dine here Friday night (5/1/15) on a whim. Thankfully we did! We were pleasantly surprised (a common theme in the other reviews) as this turned out to be a little treasure on 110. The decor was very stylish and the ambiance reminds you of some of the more high end steak houses on Long Island. We were greeted by the hostess who was very sweet and addressed us by name (we had booked our reservation on Open Table). It is important to get this position right as this was our first impression of the establishment (she aced it!) Our server was also great :) she was very knowledgable of the menu (limited selection but it was nice to not be overwhelmed with choices) suggesting her favorite dishes and checking up sporadically.
Love, love, love. Trento! The food is so fresh and delicious ! The pasta is homemade daily and the difference is amazing! Try the fettucine alle vongole! Oh and the truffle Mac n cheese pizza...there's just nothing else like it on the planet! Trento is not your regular everyday Italian restaurant....it elevates your experience and you'll feel like you're dining in heaven!
The food was outstanding, although a little pricey. I had the polpo salad and swordfish, and it was better than any of my seven-fish Xmas Eve dinners, and I'd probably order it again if there weren't so many other dishes I'd love to try. Our waitress was personable and prompt, and she knew her cues on when to come and go. For dessert, I ordered the nociella gelato and it was so good, i didn't even offer a spoonful to my husband to try, but that's okay because he was more than pleased with his cannoli. He said it was the best cannoli he's ever had, and it didn't look like your average italian bulk ordered cannoli. It looked freshly made, and the shell looked so soft but crisp and he said the cream was the best he's ever had and not too sweet. Just go and enjoy the food, worry about the money later.
The place is brand-new. The Decour is very up-to-date. The food was very good. I just felt they didn't have a lot of choices. The menu had different types of good on it .
Was very dissapointed with the food. Ordered the meatball and it was hard and tasteless. Don't think it was Waygu beef or the put 3/4 of a pound of breadcrumbs..,ribeye steak was also too lean and tasteless as well. Gnocchi was too soft and also taste was very bland... Overall the service was amazing and the Lemon Fig Martini were the highlights of the dinner
We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation time and were seated immediately. Our server's name was Jeffrey and the service was excellent. He asked if this was our first time eating there and when we said yes he went over the menu with us in detail. The food was excellent and came out in a timely manner. We loved the atmosphere but it is very pricey. We were given a gift certificate to the location. Everything is a la carte. I had a steak special which was $58 alone. I will go back but it will have to be a special occasion. Too pricey to be one of my regular eateries.
After an initial issue with a long valet line and a rude valet attendant who lied to me by saying the restaurant had a mandatory valet-only parking lot (while threatening to tow my car), my group of four enjoyed a pleasant dinner here.
Table was ready at reserved time. Hostess was personable and friendly. Waitress was knowledgable and attentive. Service was mostly prompt: the speed was not rushed and flowed well, except for the time between appetizers and dinner. We waiter slightly longer than expected for dinner to come out. Food was not amazing, but it was above average. None of the dishes were culinary masterpieces, nor was anything poor, tasteless or below average. I don't know if I would go out of my way to come back here, but I certainly wouldn't avoid it, as I left content and full.
Food was great and the suggestions made by our server were right on. Service was great. Like sitting in the booths. The broccoli rabe was not made properly. The stem part should have been cut much shorter or removed as that part is chewy. Cappacinos good but my wife's regular coffee was undrinkable.
Wonderful experience! It is absolutely fantastic for food.
I loves the food.We were 4 people that went.Everyone said the food was excellent. The restaurant has a very nice ambience to it.It is also not loud. Our waiter was great. He provided excellent service.I will definitely be returning again.
We've been wanting to try Trento for quite a while and finally got there. The decor from the moment you walk in the door was magnificent. The long and beautiful bar with the industrial look was really cool. The place does not lack space and therefore you don't feel like your sitting right next to another table of people. The menu was expansive along with several specials. All of which seemed delicious but we had to go with the homemade pasta which was absolutely fabulous. Run don't walk there. You'll love it for sure.
Service was top notch, nice variety on menu, everything ordered was delicious. Can't wait to return!
The ambiance was wonderful and the food was exquisite. Our server was very helpful and sweet. I will definitely be coming back!
Went here with 2 friends on a Tuesday night. Seating area is a bit too dark...had trouble reading the menu. Waiter was exceptional...explained all of the specials in detail and also highlighted various dishes on the menu that were popular. We do not drink but wine list was impressive. Nice bread basket with various types of bread. Ordered the 16 oz. Kobe meatball which was very good...fed all 3 of us. Our main dishes were of ample size. We had Shrimp Limoncello, Rigatoni ala Vodka and Chilean Sea Bass. Nice sized shrimp. All pasta is homemade. Dishes came a la carte so we had risotto as a side that was more than enough for the 3 of us. All entrees were very good and the Risotto was done right. Too full for dessert but it was nice to see that the desserts were more varied than just the normal choices you get in an Italian restaurant. Would definitely come here again but could not make it one of our "regular go-to places" as the prices were a bit steep. This is a nice place for a special occasion or a business lunch/dinner.
I was looking for a convenient dining place near the Farmingdale Movie Megaplex and was pleasantly surprised to find this Italian bistro.
I had a very basic dish of spaghetti and chicken cutlet. The pasta was made fresh on the premises and perfectly cooked "a la dente" and the cutlet tender with a mild not over baring sauce. The price was reasonable considering the quality.
I will definitely be a repeat customer.
Went with friends to Trento after others recommendations. Food was good although overpriced. Smarter if kitchen sent out plates with sides rather than a bare plates. Not a fan of paying for sides. Presentation better with even a bit of broccoli, green beans, etc Service was almost non existent. Mains brought out and sides brought to table after meal. Mgr called and did the right thing by us. Noisy establishment. Valet parking a disaster. Had to wait 20 minutes for car. Couldn't find it. Duh??? Don't offer it if you can provide services. gone but not forgotten. Lots of alternatives.
went to Trento for the 2nd time and now remember why I hadn't been back. The place is cool, the food is good, the waitress we had was great. So, why thee negative review. Pricing....had baked clams for appetizer....which were delicious....but $16.00 - let's be real. Ordered the salmon...but instead of the stuffed salmon that was on the menu we just had grilled salmon ...which was good...but not great...$28.00 for that...just salmon...no sides!!!!!! Could this be a great restaurant, yes, but they need a reality check....the prices need to be adjusted or give a side dish with your meal.
Great place to bring clients on the 110 corridor. Food is excellent - service is excellent. Great bar atmosphere to have drinks and very friendly people. Overal highly reccomend
We went to Trento for dinner. We braved the ice and cold for a good meal and weren't disappointed. Everything we had was excellent. The menu consists of Italian restaurant staples, Parmesans, Marsalas, pastas, etc. All were done properly and served hot and fresh from the kitchen. The servers were attentive and efficient. Perhaps the busboy was sleeping because I had to ask for a bread basket but when it came, the included foccocia was super. Drinks were properly made and served. I have only praise for this place and will return.
When we arrived there was a large group of business people at the bar that were pretty loud and annoying. They eventually took a table in another dining w=room and the noise instantly subsided. Perhaps the owners should put something up to keep the bar noise in the bar. The existing trellis isn't working.
The experience was great except that we were told by our waiter that they are known for their Kobe meatball and when we ordered one he told us they were sold out! Don't try to sell something that you don't have!
We had a very impressive meal at Trento. From drinks to appetizers then on to main meal was all perfect. Get the kobe 16oz meatball its a must, also has tuna tartar that was also excellent. A bit pricey but felt it was worth the money. Will def return.
So i have to say the overall experience was nice. But there were a few things that could be changed for the better… there were a few girls standing in front as hostesses some took your coat for coat check, so it was a bit confusing on who to talk to and the girls seemed to get a little overwhelmed, and a smile wouldn't hurt for a couple of them. Second, one of the bartenders didn't look to happy to be there either, smiles go along way even if u have to fake it! We absolutely loved the music that was playing and the lights dimmed down once we sat which we love, but being that it gets that dark in there the music in the dining area could have been a little louder. i don't like hearing other peoples conversations while feel good music is playing so turn it up a few notches!! food was great! waitress was very sweet! we will be coming back very soon and hopefully i see a small improvement on smiles and turn it up!! thanks!! :)
My fiance and I went to Trento for Valentine's Day. We had a 5:30 reservation since everything between there and 8:30 was booked (at least on OpenTable). The place was pretty empty when we got there, but I was guessing because of the early time. The atmosphere was very nice. The girl who sat the couple before us gave the women a rose, then the girl who sat us did not give my fiance a rose. I asked the first girl who was seating someone else if everyone got on or if it was pre-reserved with reservation. She apologized and brought my fiance a rose.
The food was excellent. I got rigatoni alla vodka and my fiance got chicken Marsala. Both dishes were excellent. We observed another couple who got pizzettes and they looked delicious, so I think I am going to try that next time.....and there will be a next time.
Been to Trento several times and food and service are ALWAYS outstanding. My hubby and I were here for Valentine's Day evening dinner, and although the weather was a bit bad, the restaurant was packed. We both ordered from the specials menu and both meals were GREAT!!! Saved room for dessert as Trento does them right. Special props to our AMAZING server, Sharon (thanks for the heart on my cannoli plate)!
Was told this is the best spot on Long Island. Not sure about that. But it was pretty good. Jeff our waiter was fantastic though!
Been wanting to come here since it opened. My husband and I went this past Saturday. It is definitely a restaurant to celebrate that special occasion. Service was great and the food was everything we expected and read in reviews. We started with a cocktail , then had the meatball appetizer. We ate half and saved the rest, not wanting to spoil our appetites. The wedge salad dressing was delicious. Our favorite was the Troffolini. It was so special. It was different and we were not sure we would like it.. loved it. All the flavors came together beautifully. Also had the Fettucini Bolognese. Again, absolutely delicious. All was cooked to perfection.
The only down side was that we were seated at a booth and the other side was the bar, which got very noisy. There is only a cutout petition between the booth and the bar. Next time we will request to sit in the back dining room.
Great time. Want to come back for lunch and try the paninis.
We were there with a party of six. The group felt that the menu didn't give enough options and was very pricey. In addition, the a la carte feature adds to the cost. For a cost of $8.00, a side dish of spaghetti was sent back because it was so small. The men at the table felt the drinks were stingy for a price of $12.00 each
Our second visit after a very pleasant and thoroughly enjoyable first recently. Unfortunately, waitress service was unattentive and extremely S-L-O-W second time around. We will return but will request a different server in the event she is assigned to our table. Food was excellent however.
The food portions have been reduced while the prices have been raised!! We have visited this restaurant several times in the past year. The portion of the Chilean Sea Bass is much smaller than in the past , while the price went from $33 to $38, without sides! When I questioned it I was told by the waitress that nothing had changed. Not true. I used to make 2 meals out of the Sea Bass while this portion which was cut, was just enough for one meal. We know it was cut, since 2 dishes were ordered and they were both smaller compared to the those in the past.
This restaurant is overpriced, without the ambiance of other neighborhood restaurants. We will not return.
overall good experience! would recommend to friends for lunch or dinner.
We had 6:30 reservations and was seated when we arrived. From moment we were seated til we left, everything was excellent. Our waiter Sean was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu and how the food was prepared. His recommended dishes were delicious. My husband loved the khobe beef meatball and Triffolini. The Triffolini was one of the most delicious entrees I've ever tasted. I had the Sea Bass which so like and not fishy tasting at all. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes.
Another wonderful experience at Trento! Lorenzo and his staff are consistent in providing a combination of a beautiful restaurant and superb cuisine. The bartender was warm and friendly, dinner service was excellent and the food outstanding. Notably the swordfish, it was a generous portion cooked to perfection. We will certainly return.
Never disappointing. Outstanding food and service. Try the Basil-cucumber martini. Cannollis are a real treat. Love this place!
Great menu selection. Food and service above average. Our waiter Leo was very knowledgeable and was very welcoming.
This is a great place...the food is fantastic! The Kobe beef meatball and truffolini (app size) are a must!
Found the place very quiet for New Year's Day, we had an early 6:45 searing. Had expected a more vibrant atmosphere . Beautiful spaces, the bar and dining areas.Service was friendly and efficient. Food came out in good time and paced perfectly. Enjoyed the Shrimp bisque, calamari couple of pastas, salad and a pizzeta at our table. All of it was well prepared and presented. Great place for a special occasion celebration. Will return in warmer weather to experience outdoor dining.
What a great place!! It's nice, lively, excellent food and service!
Food is solid but overly expensive. Thought I was eating out at a NYC steakhouse after getting the bill. Probably wouldnt go back, better values out there.
Had a wonderful time on New Years Eve. Our server Jeff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. He offered us a nice drink suggestion which was perfect. The filet mignon was delicious and cooked to perfection. Great food!
