What Insiders Are Saying
Trestle is a go-to date night restaurant - simple food, upbeat surroundings, and a streamlined menu will get the job done.
We had to stand for 20 minutes even though we had a reservation so, a little bummed out. Good was great for the price though!
Super simple menu with great food and great service
I make it a point to dine at Trestle every year when I attend the Winter Fancy Food Show, it's one of my "must-go" spots. It's a small room, comfy and intimate. The service is always friendly and well-informed, and the food is beautifully executed. The prix-fixe menu never seems limiting, as there are always appealing options for me. Be sure to add on the pasta course, it's invariably scrumptious; it makes a perfect shared dish between your starters and main courses. And also be sure to make a reservation, otherwise you'll be deeply disappointed at not being able to share in the fun.
Very good food always done very well and imaginatively! I ate here for the third time in four months and all times were great. I like the fixed price approach and limited menu. This approach results in good, creative dishes delivered timely without lots of decisions. The staff is engaging and happy. Highly recommend for good American fusion flavor at a very competitive price.
The food is always on point. The staff at this locale never misses a beat. You can't beat the price fixe option. Definitely a local gem.
This was my greatest experience in SF, so I came twice for a friendly dinner and for a business one, and my guests where so happy. The wines selection is so very fine and very reasonable prices.
Finally, the service is delicate and personalized.
Very well conceived restaurant. The fixed menu limits choice, but also allows each dish to be terrific. Also, since it is a multicourse menu, each course is reasonably sized. Highly recommend it.
Loved the food, the wait staff need improvement. Wine glass was half full and they brought check without asking if we'd like another glass. Then grabbed wine glasses and napkins after bill was paid. Odd ending to a great meal.
Delicious food at a good value, fun, and lovely service, but much too loud for normal conversation. And wish they had a bar where we could wait for our table, or at least a bit more space inside for waiting. If it were raining, we would have been quite uncomfortable waiting outside.
Amazing evening. Perfect service and wonderful food! The ambiance was low key but full of good energy.
Super great time! Servers were efficient and knowledge. The overall great experience. Only dislike was the two deuces by the server station in the back (I was seated there).
Duck salad was good, more like a duck croquette. Too salty and I usually like salty...the pasta courses for both of us, were some of the best ever. Gnocchi and a lobster spaghetti. The spaghetti itself, was al dente perfection and is the best I have ever eaten- ever!
Chestnut soup amazing. Strip steak cooked rare and very good. Scallops a bit soft all over for my liking- and the accompanying hard purple cauliflower had no flavor. Desserts both just ok. This was NYE so for 100 each, not a value. But enjoyable.
The normal pricing would make this an amazing place.
We are from Philadelphia and didn’t find the noise level bad at all. The waiter was very good, and pleasant. I liked the decor, and black brick. I did not feel rushed at all.
I would go back.
Had a great dinner with my best friend for NYE. We both enjoyed the meals. They were amazing! The dessert could’ve been better though.
Customer service was on point!!
The service was perfect. The food was some of the most creative and flavorful dishes I have ever tried. The atmosphere is cozy, but very comfortable. The price is very affordable. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
Amazing food and great service. Total dining experience and awesome value. Always a pleasure to come and dine here.
A little late seating is, but feels trendy and food focused.
The food is innovative, and oh so tasty, but also healthy. The service was very attentive, but not overbearing. It is a little loud, but we were seated next to a party of 6; so, that accounted for some of the elevated noise level.
Great fine dining at very affordable price. Service was excellent. Staffs were friendly.
Awesome! Everything is very good. We must go back again.
As always, amazing food
It is rare to get great food in SF at a reasonable price. It is obvious that the chef and staff care a great deal about your dining experience!
Great food, great service, great front of the house. I’ve never had a bad meal or even a bad dish.
I love Trestle. It’s our favorite spot in SF. The combination of quality, an ever-changing menu, the level of service, and the value make it a perfect five in my mind. Amazing place all-around.
Food was yummy. Service was ok. They were super busy
Highly recommend adding the pasta and risotto course!
Interior was nice, but small. Noise level was pretty high. Hard to hear the person across the table from you. Food was cooked well with a nice presentation.
This place is outstanding. VALUE! Value! Value!
My wife and I fully enjoyed our experience! Service and food were top notch!
For a midwest gal in a big city, this dinner was the perfect ending to a great trip. Dining room was small but inviting and warm. Service was very attentive. Food was INCREDIBLE!
Such a great concept for a restaurant.
Will be sharing all over Columbus about my great experience here.
Each course was delicious and the servers were all very attentive. Overall it was a great dinner experience!
One of the better fine food values in SF. Space is small, tables are close together, servers are friendly and attentive, food is excellent!
My husband and I were really looking forward to dining here because our friend gave it such high reviews. However, we were so disappointed.
Appetizer | Tuna Tataki salad - The portion was great, but it was SO SALTY! A diner sitting next to us sent hers back and asked for no salt. We should’ve done the same.
Entree | Salmon & Braised Beef Short Ribs - The salmon was fine, but didn’t have much flavor. My husband’s short ribs were extremely dry and he didn’t even finish it. The server asked if he wanted a plate of the salmon instead, so I have to say that was very nice of them.
Dessert | Double Fudge Cake & Japanese Cheesecake - Both desserts were good, but nothing special. The desserts were the best part of the meal.
Overall, I would not recommend Trestle to anyone. My husband and I actually went to another restaurant afterwards and had a second dinner.
We celebrated our anniversary there. The staff was great about making us feel special.
Great food, great price, great service!
This is a small cozy quaint restaurant, perfect for low key celebrations. This was our second time there and we went back since the first time their food was truly outstanding. I am not sure what has changed over the last year or if we were chasing the dragon, or if the chef was having a bad day, but we felt like the food was average this time around. I would still give the place a try since their service and price makes it totally worth the buck !
Fabulous food and ambience, only thing was that we ordered bread and it took about 20 minutes to come which was annoying when we wanted to eat it with our meal. Everything else was great though, would definitely come back. A jem in San Francisco.
Best all around restaurant
Very nice experience at a reasonable price. The dishes were very good and the desert was amazing!
Loved the ambiance...food was beyond delicious...service was off the charts. Cannot wait to go back!
