What Insiders Are Saying
Trestle is a go-to date night restaurant - simple food, upbeat surroundings, and a streamlined menu will get the job done.
What a great location! I hate to recommend it this highly only for selfish reasons. But they deserve the accolades.
Everything was great! We had an earlier reservation so we were quickly seated before our complete party was there and placed our drink order.
Great food. Great ambiance. Overall great place for a fancy date that doesn’t hurt your pockets too much.
Awesome food, service, and quality all around!
Love this place.
Delicious meal, but very fast-paced. We were in and hour within 75 minutes which felt a bit rushed for a date-night. One of the main servers helping us seemed pretty impatient - she was quick to clear the table and fill waters, but not friendly. I've been previously and had been really impressed by the service so it might have been an off day.
Absolutely delicious, great service, beautiful space! I love Trestle & will be back
Very positive experience. The ravioli, blueberry risotto and polenta desert stood out.
Excellent as always, the best value in town! We'll be back and please keep up the good work!
Very eclectic mix of ingredients - memorably delicious results!
The food and ambiance is lovely but the service left us a little disappointed. Great lighting.
Food was exceptional. Dinner exceeded all our expectations. It is a bit noisier than I like but the experience is worth it.
Can’t give enough high praise for the service. And the value! They’re magicians to present such quality and imaginative food at that price tag.
Good food, the optional pasta dishes were delish, the service was great!
For $39, you really can’t beat Trestle’s pre fixe menu.
It’s perfect for a business dinner, a second date, or just a catch up with friends.
The service is attentive and menu is simple so there’s none of that analysis paralysis or fomo hitting you like other good eats in the city.
The menu is different every day, but if you go back enough you’ll recognize some familiar plates. It’s California cuisine done well, centrally located, with its own atmosphere the second you step in the door.
It’s not my all time favorite food in the city but certainly it’s a tried and true goodie you won’t go wrong at.
If they had more bubbly by the glass, I’d go for happy hours that turn into dinners, but alas, you can’t have it all :)
Really good food for changing the menu daily. Very fresh ingredients and execution. Service was okay. You can tell the server were done heading towards the night.
Overall, it was a good experience. The food was delicious. We were seated promptly. The hostess was extremely friendly and polite. I found the service was a bit rushed and the noise level was high for me.
every course was excellent . the beer menu was impressive . this was my second dinner there, the previous one on the Big Game weekend which was postponed due to the Camp fire . no vegan alternative on entree
Great food, atmosphere, and value! Definitely will be coming again
Awesome food and excellent service. Will be back - heck even as a regular!
We enjoyed our first visit to Trestle. The menu had something for everyone and we added the pasta course which was delish! We'll go back again soon.
Trestle is more than a great value, it is some of the best food in the city. My wife and I have eaten there at least 10 times and have never been disappointed in a single course.
service was a bit on the slow side even with the menu being as small as it is, the place was very busy. the food was delicious, thoughtfully plated and imaginative. there was watercress in every dish somehow, including dessert.
A good restaurant for a gathering, a casual date, or just dinner on the town. The food was excellent, nice seasonal ingredients with a good balance of flavor. I’d say get the optional pasta dishes. They were truly outstanding. For the price, you really can’t beat the quality of food and the experience! Highly recommended!
For the price point, the quality of the menu was exceptional and the staff were extremely friendly and equally very proud of working at Trestle. I would highly recommend trying out the menu here and will gladly be returning.
Really enjoyed the dining experience. It was great from the get go. The staff decanted our wine while we waited for our table. After sitting we had a nice card for our anniversary waiting for us which was a classy touch. The menu is pre made new every night so you don't have to select too much which is nice for people with food fomo or indecisive. The service was impeccable and the food had delicious flavors with every bite and great presentation. Overall really enjoyed it and was well prices for what you're getting. We had forgot our bottle when we left and the server chased us down the street to give it back to us. Really appreciated that!
Great service, great food. This is my second time and I realize I need to try and get there more often.
Food was very good. Fantastic service. Hostess greeted us with a huge smile. The lobster risotto add-on is was delicious. We split the 2 pasta dishes between four of us. Next time no splitting- I’ll order my own.
Love the food and service! Will definitely be back.
Great food but service was slower and less attentive than usual tonight. Maybe because of the North Beach Festival and Father’s Day made it busier than usual, Seats are not that comfortable and it is too loud for conversation. Pluses include we were seated right away, food was delicious, and they accommodated a food allergy at our table without any hesitation.
This was my second time at Trestle, and again, had a great experience! The presentation and the food never disappoint. The service is also outstanding. I brought a friend here for their birthday, and they added a couple extra touches which made the overall experience memorable. Thank you Trestle, I'll be back again for a third time!
As always, a great meal. Fantastic offerings despite only 2 selections per course. For 2 people I recommend splitting one of the pasta supplements as 1 each is too much food. It was 100 degrees out and very hot inside the restaurant, although the staff provided folding hand fans for everyone to use to keep cool...a nice touch
Remains one of the best values in SF. Excellent food, served in a lovely atmosphere, with great service. 3 courses, each delightful. My wife and I both had the stone fruit salad that was light, refreshing and tasty. That was followed by the pork loin with potato pave, which was cooked to perfection and was utterly delicious. My wife tried the berry tart for dessert and I had their version of black forest cake (thankfully without the coconut shreds). Both were excellent, but the black forest cake shone in particular, moist, chocolatey, mmm. Supplemented by a decent wine list. An old favorite, and likely to remain on our list of repeat visit destinations.
Great meal and evening. Wedding anniversary meal, server was able to modify appetizer to account for crab allergy, wine pairing was great and food delivery was perfectly timed. All in all food and service made for an excellent evening.
What an amazingly affordable way to have a delicious prix-fixe menu. my friends and I will definitely be back.
Trestle is one of our very favorite SF restaurants. You really can't get a better meal for such value! On a recent visit we had a silky, super flavorful corn chowder, a stone fruit salad & perfectly cooked salmon. The lime mousse desert was one of the best ever. This was a perfect early summer meal that highlighted fresh produce.
What a pleasant surprise! Enjoyed everything about our experience at Trestle. Wonderful choices for the prix fixe menu. I always have such a difficult time choosing from a large menu and it was a no brainer to make our choices -One of each! Attention to detail was number one. Plating was beautiful and each course was so thoughtfully put together. Grilled bread was yummy! Great service and we were able to dine leisurely.
I was very excited to make a reservation at trestle. From the reviews, I expected a wonderful experience of both foods and service. We were let down because (1) the main course was simple and not hearty enough, (2) the two add on dishes were explained that it was sufficient for 2 people but the size was really only for 1 person (3) the service was awfully slow especially that the menu was a prefixed menu and (4) it was really warm in the restaurant. Was the restaurant over hyped? I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and think they had a bad night, but I do feel that the experience should have been better, especially the service!
Another wonderful meal at one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco! The service was impeccable, the food excellent. We couldn't be happier with Trestle.
