Chef Tyson's menu offerings include daily specials, hot and cool tastings, makimono, yakimono, tempura and, of course, sushi and sashimi.
Food was Wonderful but the Servcie was Exceptionally slow tonight. 45 minutes after placing an intitial order - and nothing brought to the table. The wait styaff didnt even acknowledge or apologize for the length of time it took to deliver our courses.
Food was good, in my opinion a little overpriced for what you get even if quality is high.
My husband and I had the Chef Tasting Menu which I highly recommend. Everything was so delicious and it was the perfect amount of food. Just before dinner, we went upstairs to Uchiba for a drink and small appetizer. The foie gras mousse was amazing and our two drinks - too much heaven (bourbon, rye, lemongrass and lemon bitters) and the shiso tini (vodka, yuzu, honey, barley shochu) were perfect. Highly recommend giving yourself time to enjoy upstairs before you dine at Uchi.
Great service with each dish delivery giving explanation on particular food.
I used to LOVE Uchi, thought of it as the best Japanese restaurant in the US (and I have been to all Uchi in Texas), but I was disappointed this time. We ordered almost everything from the Sake Social menu, in which nothing wow us except Machi Cure (always love this). While Uchi Brussel Sprouts used to be my all time favorite, this time the Brussel Sprouts were over fried to almost blackened and were heavily soaked in the sauce, so they are soggy and not crispy. Nevertheless, Uchi provided very good service. We were running very late as I needed to finish feeding my baby first, but they saved us the table as I called ahead to let them know. Overall the food was quite disappointing, not sure if we would go again. We will need to search for another outstanding Japanese restaurant in Dallas~
LOVE this place! The food is fantastic and always so fresh. Love coming here for Happy Hour too and the service is always impeccable!
We celebrated a birthday and had a wonderful experience
Stephanie was great!
We ordered the tasting menu, the time between the courses being served was unacceptable. Had to ask servers twice to speed it up. Requested wasabi and ginger three times. One of the courses was nearly identical to a previous one. Requested bottled water refills repeatedly as well. There was a lack of urgency and attentiveness by the servers until towards the end of the meal. This used to be my favorite place but it seems the service and food quality have decreased yet the prices remain high.
Service was FANTASTIC. Seriously, amazing service. Never once was I looking for my waiter or needing anything and our waiter suggested fabulous choices and was very honest and accurate about what they would be like. Happy Hour is a must...5-6:30 p.m. with great prices on food and drinks.
It was amazing!
Chef Jamie did an excellent work! His work is piece of art and so delicious. Enjoy!
Love Uchi. They take care of us every time we go. Best sushi spot in Dallas 100%.
Amazing food & service.
Service was awesome! Everyone came by and wished a happy birthday to my wife. They knew us by name. Then made their recommendations on how to eat the dish (we had the Omakase 6 course + a few other dishes).
Foie gras + the dessert we had was the best dishes IMO. We had the hot dish with escolar and that was the 3rd favorite @ Uchi.
Wow. Wife and I love sushi but we had never been here before. Really had no idea what to get and our friendly, awesome, outstanding waiter suggested the 6-course meal with the idea of getting more of anything we tasted that we really liked. Which we liked pretty much everything they brought out especially the Walu Walu. If you don't get anything else, get the Walu Walu. Waiter suggested we try the hot rock which is small strips of Wagyu beef that you cook yourself (what?) on a very hot stone slab and dip in ponzu sauce.
Seriously, one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had in Dallas. Also I drank saki out of a wooden box. So much fun. Can't wait to go again.
The food and the service are top notch, the social hour prices are extremely affordable - overall perfect experience each and every time.
Great overall will definitely come back next year for my birthday
Our first visit to Uchi did not disappoint!! We all loved the food, service and ambiance. Will definitely return next time we are in Dallas.
Uchi has yet to disappoint! My first time I experimented with the small tasting, and it was phenomenal from start to finish. All items were expertly prepared with the perfect amount of garnish. The wait staff has been amazing as well, noting my preferences and acting on them accordingly. The second time I did the larger tasting, and it was to die for. In addition to the 10 items, the chef sent out special tastings based on our preferences. Drinks were consistently full, and I felt like I truly had the attention of the staff.
Try the fried milk dessert and the Kari Kyuri cocktail. Those were my faves.
Uchi is consistently amazing. Everyone we take here is impressed.
Excellent, service, great atmosphere, superb sushi. Overall an absolutely wonderful place.
Always great. Food took a bit in between dishes but still great
Fantastic as always. Omakase was incredible - the staff (servers, runners, etc) were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the food. It truly takes the dining experience over the top. We try to make this a once yearly stop and it never disappoints.
Another visit to Uchi and another fantastic eating experience! Mateo, our server was great (again). Already planning my next visit.
Went to Uchi for my boyfriends birthday. We had the 10 course tasting menu and it was delicious and innovative.
Traveled and dinied all over the world; t5his is probably the best restaurant in Dallas!!
5:15 reservation, full house
Great prices during happy hour.
Worth every cent any time of day.
Great experience all around
Great experience at the sushi bar
This is a very high quality Japanese restaurant and is a real treat. Just go. And I suggest having your waiter make selections unless you are an expert. They all know the menu so well! We had Rafael. He was the best!
We have been to Uchi a half dozen times and it is always fabulous. We let the servers pick what we eat and they do a great job.
Uchi is the amazing! I moved to Santa Barbara from Dallas a few years ago, and it’s the one restaurant we make sure to go to when we are in town. THE BEST!
Uchi is always terrific. The food and service are consistently excellent. The sushi is always fresh and the treatment of the ingredients ranges from very traditional to creative and unusual. Great for a quick bite or a longer slow march through the menu. Good sake options, too.
My sister and I went to Uchi last week and they did not disappoint! The waiter, service and food were 5stars! I cannot wait to go back, delicious!
Fabulous experience. Everything was delicious
Great quality service will defiantly come back perfect for large groups !
The front reception was a little to be desired but once we were sat, Bryan took great care of us helping us build our own tasting menu. The food and his knowledge as well as the rest of the wait staff were impeccable. We tried the Machi Cure (Yellowtail), zero sen role (yellowtail with crunchy onion, Masu pom (my favorite of ocean trout -- its like salmon but WAY better), Kobocha (japenese pumpkin tempura), and closed with a surprise from Bryan of Shima ahi crudo (striped bass with candied garlic). We finished it off with a seasonal dessert of Pumpkin spice so flipping yummy. It was a funnel cake with pumpkin seeds and panna cata.
Food and service was amazing! Loved our waitress, Peyton!
Everything was amazing!! It was our first time and the waiter brought us stuff that would’ve never order. The presentation of the plates was beautiful and the convination of the flavours were amazing! I trully recommend it!! We are coming back!
