When I made the reservation I let them know it was for a birthday & would love to get a window, lake view table, if available. The host was bizarre. He called me 4 times to confirm my reservation after I’d already confirmed online. We arrived early and he was acting like I wasn’t going to get our table bc I didn’t answer his calls. He was rude, really was a big turn off at what is supposed to be a nice evening.

New Years dinner was great as was service from Isabella. We had prime rib and Spanish Taritelli. The peppermint ice cream with hot fudge topped off an all around good experience. Always a treat to eat at Garwoods!

We started going to Big Water Grille for our wedding party, and other special occasions thereafter. We celebrated my husband’s birthday last night. Everyone was attentive and helpful. We always have to ask extra questions since we follow a gluten free diet. The food was delicious, as usual. We shared our dinners - the pork chop with a baked apple glaze on mashed potatoes, and the braised ribs (boneless) on polenta with a tasty brown gravy. The green beans were nice and firm with toasted almond slivers, and the chard with the rib dinner had a nice flavor. He picked the flourless chocolate cake with fresh raspberries and glaze for the birthday celebration dessert…yummy! Thank you for the nice experience!

We were staying at the hotel and had brunch here twice. The food was solid, fairly priced, and very tasty. Service was kind of mixed. The person checking in people to be seated was very aloof and seemed unfriendly but both the bartender and the actual wait staff were very nice.

Birthday celebration for me (59 yrs) with my 2 adult children, whom I had not seen in 3-5 months. I flew in to Reno. Our server, Danny, was attentive, with a great smile, sweet & humble. He took ownership for forgetting to let the kitchen know I didn’t want cranberries in my salad. He comped the salad & gave my son a neat whiskey. (My daughter & I were sharing a bottle of champagne.). The portion sizes were larger than any of us could finish. Danny offered me a complimentary dessert for my birthday, but we were too full. I had the Chipolte Plum Salmon, which cane with delicious veggies & rice. My son had the Elk dinner, which he enjoyed. It is gamey tasting, just like wild elk. My daughter had mushroom ravioli pasta dish, with a creamy white sauce- not too heavy. It was DELICIOUS!!!
