Essence is a casual restaurant that serves French cuisine using seasonal ingredients. Chef Shiro Naito opened the restaurant in 2010 to provide dishes that celebrate the essence of each season. Essence is conveniently located next to Inokashira Park and Ghibli Museum. Its spacious dining area provides tables for guests and a private room for special occasions.
The menu at Essence offers themed seasonal courses. The restaurant uses organic, pesticide-free vegetables from Yoko Farms, has its fish and shellfish delivered directly from Hakodate and uses chemical-free fertilizer from Tokorozawa to grow some of its own ingredients.More

A hidden away space in which to enjoy Japanese set menus and à la carte dishes. The interior space, with its 5 meter high ceiling, is fitted with underfloor heating for greater comfort. More
The Petit Course we had was just perfect and everything tasted wonderful. We had requested seats by the window and a corner table but due to the lateness of booking, we did not know whether this request would be met. Our request was met and we had the best view of the Inokashira park while we enjoyed the delicious dishes. On parting, we had requested a taxi and they kindly called the taxi and we could wait at our table. All the staff members were very attentive and very kind. We found the course also very reasonable for the variety of dishes that the course included. We will be happy to visit again. MoreOpenTable Diner -
