Wild Ginger Downtown Seattle
It has been a long time since I went to the Wild Ginger. The menu has changed considerably but the food was excellent. Unfortunately the service was pretty poor.
Always wonderful and consistent. A great spot for any celebration!
Great place for a bite before an event at Benaroya. Leave some extra time, as the kitchen gets backed up when they are busy and dinner can take longer than you think it will.
Top! Nice Place and very delicious try the spiced pineapple shrub and the Green Curry!
My favorite! Always perfect food very consistent, knowledgeable friendly staff. Spot on!
Excellent service and wonderful food. Far too loud! Although the food is excellent, it’s a little pricey for what you get. And one of the lamb pieces on my satay was nothing but gristle and inedible. For the price, I would expect to be perfect. The remainder was delicious.
Our waiter (I think Alex) was excellent. He handled the crowd beautifully. Our sommelier (can't remember his name) was great as well. I think you have the best sommeliers in the city. They always come up with wonderful recommendations based on my criteria. Your food is always delicious. This is why we are regular clients. We love your place!
We love the food and service. Awesome experience!!
Great pan-Asian fusion restaurant. Everything is very good but maybe not as authentic as in more specialized restaurants. Cool room and nice ambience.
We had a wonderful dinner with our son and his wife. Great food and service.
This reservation was made for my son, who attended Prom at the Seattle Art Museum nearby. This is the second time he's been at Wild Ginger and requested this restaurant specifically. Both times (previously for Homecoming) he's reported back on the great service, food and ambiance.
Hands down best spring roll and curry I've ever had!
We always order our favorites and never disappointed. Chicken potstickers, Asian short ribs, Seven flavor beef and Mongolian
Noodles. So delicious!
We had a wonderful lunch. I was meeting a friend. The server was very gracious. He realized that we wanted to talk and gave us time to do that. We had the lobster dumpling soup that was a meal in itself. We also had the Thai spring rolls. I love how they give you ingredients to add to the spring rolls, which are delicious on their own. The 7 ingredient soup was delicious with a curry soup base and filled with chicken and noodles. I love the Wild Ginger. They are consistently good and delicious whether for lunch or dinner.
The food was good and the atmosphere nice. The service was otherwise. We had four different servers which made us nervous initially and then rightly so. About twenty minutes after my wife’s entree arrived (and finished it), we were asked if there was anything else they could do. After I asked about my entree, they went looking for it and found it. The rice that came with it was inedible. I have had sticky rice before and this didn’t seem right. It was as if was heated and then congealed. Fortunately, my wife had rice left over. Also, because we had so many servers, each thought the other was taking care of us and no one ever checked on us until the end. Finally, the manager talked to us, heard us out and comped the entree.
The ambiance was not that great. We ask for our appetizers first before the main dishes and everything came out at once. The tables seemed crowded together. I would have preferred a more intimate setting.
The food was great, the service, though not rushed, could notch it up in noticing such things as more water, etc.
What a scrumptious and relaxing lunch! Definitely worth any return visits.
We arrived late due to traffic. They held our table for us. Service was prompt and our server listened carefully to our allergy concerns. The food was delicious and we definately will come back to enjoy a similar meal at a more leisurely pace .
We ate before the symphony at Benaroya Hall. Everything was wonderful and the wait staff was attentive without being smothering. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Never disappointed having dinner at the Wild Ginger, delicious, great service and a wonderful menu.
Wild Ginger still ranks as one of the best restaurants in Seattle.
The food was delicious, the service friendly and prompt, the ambience lovely and quiet. There were three of us and we had the Canton steamed fish, roast duck and the Seven Spice Beef. Also, the dessert of Olympic Mountain sorbet and ice cream was outstanding. Looking forward to going again!
The server was excellent. The food was flavorful, but the lamb satay was tough.
Great place for dinner before a performance at Benaroya Hall. Our waitress was really friendly, service was quick, food was excellent. Restaurant was really noisy which was the only negative in our experience.
Everything was delicious -- we had chicken satay, potstickers, pad Thai and Sichuan green beans. Our waiter, Sam, was attentive, friendly and efficient. Great place to share dishes family style.
Mother’s Day brunch served in bar area. AC was too cold
Mother’s Day Brunch
There were 8 of us who went for Mother’s Day brunch - a buffet at noon. The hot food was COLD - which quickly made a wonderful day turn into a brunch of complaints. It cost too much for the food to be cold. I believe we paid nearly $600 for all of us. Not worth it! Won’t be back!
Our server/ waiter was amazing, very attentive and courteous.
We always have a pleasant experience at Wild Ginger. The food is outstanding and the service terrific. There is always something new to try and their standards are simply wonderful. It would be difficult to have a bad meal there. We have been visiting the downtown location for many years and we never get tired of the flavors or the experience.
It was a great experience! Note that open table marked me as not showing up, but I did make my reservation
Husband enjoyed his lamb chops- cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the Paad Thai. We started with Siam Lettuce Cups. I thought they used Sea Bass but what we received seemed like it may have been something different. The lettuce cups were still delicious, regardless of the type of fish used.
Fabulous food and service. Had dinner with my wife and friend and all of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Fresh, different and wonderful in every way! Pleasant experience, great staff, easy, downtown location for vacationers.
My husband and I made a 5:30 p.m. reservation on Saturday May 11 for dinner prior to going to Beneroya Hall for a piano concert. We had ordered food and wine by 5:40; the wine arrived at 5:55 after having two empty glasses sitting on our table for 10 minutes. We were brought a chicken skewer appetizer at ~ 6:10, and then summarily ignored until we flagged the waiter at 6:30 p.m. We stated that our show began at 7 p.m. and that if the food was not served in the next 10 minutes we would have no choice but to leave. The waiter mumbled that the food was coming, but offered no real solution. At 6:40 my husband went to the front desk and asked for the manager, who arrived at our table with excuses that "the food is coming". After waiting an entire hour for dinner and mostly being ignored by our waiter we left the restaurant terribly disappointed and feeling that we we not valued at all as customers. I must note that my husband is a type 1 diabetic and must time eating to coincide with blood sugar levels and whether it is rising or dropping. By this time his blood sugar was well below 80 and moving into the hypoglycemic regime, which necessitated his consuming a quick breakfast sweet roll purchased at the counter kiosk in Beneroya Hall with 5 minutes to spare for seating. Although we have had Wild Ginger food at the Triple Door (next door live event venue) and loved it, we will never return to this restaurant.
We really love to go to Wild Ginger. We had a nice variety of dishes to share and no one left feeling unsatisfied.
What more can be said? Perfect 5 stars due to a perfect dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all off the charts. I would and do recommend Wild Ginger to friends. Must visit while in Seattle!
From the stressed hostesses to the overworked server it was clear the restaurant was understaffed creating an atmosphere of frustrated workers.
It took forever to learn whether the kitchen could accommodate a simple change to the menu. Another person in our party did not get served and we ended up simply canceling his order.
We absolutely will not return.
Service was slow and confused. We were seated late and our food came out entree first and appetizer last . Not the usual Wild Ginger experience.
