Wild Ginger Downtown Seattle
The food and drinks were top notch, our waitress was excellent and very friendly. Over all made our experience worth the while.
Food was wonderful and service was excellent. We arrived on time and our table was ready to go. Our waitress was very personable and made for a great experience. Looking forward to going back.
Meal was excellent there were 2 of us but 3 sitting at the table. We had a window seat and before our first was delivered to the table a gentlemen not necessary homeless but extremely intoxicated bounced off the plate glass window several times before sitting down at the foot of our table leaning against the glass. He was with us most of the evening sippin’ away on his can of whatever. I pointed out his presence to our waiter but no one asked the man to move. I’m not a resident of Seattle but think a window seat should be avoided.
Brent was awesome!...his attentiveness was great when it came to the food and pairing with the right drink...we really appreciated him....
We went for a birthday celebration- five people. After years of living in Seattle, I had never been (nor had anyone in the group). What a delight! What beautiful ambiance and nice large booths, it would also be a great date night location, or any special occasion for that matter. Food was excellent and we had an attentive server, who also brought over a birthday sundae. Excellent over all, and I would definitely go back again.
We went for dinner early before a concert at Beneroya, so it wasn't too busy when we arrived. Our table was small (a table for two) and a little crowded. The food was absolutely superb, generous portions and wonderful flavors. Our server was very quiet, alit too quiet, and never smiled, but he was efficient in his job.
We would definitely return to try other dishes.
Bartenders Clayton and Racheal were awesome and attentive!!! Overall a great experience at the Downtown Seattle location!!!
Came in a little early and seated immediately. Then my husband and I proceeded to wait 20-25 minutes before the wait staff even bothered to acknowledge us. We almost got up and left.
We tried speaking to the waiter serving the table next to us but she wouldn't take a moment to hear us.
They finally assigned us a server who we think was the bartender as he seemed to be washing glasses at the bar when we left.
We frequent this restaurant every year when we come to town and used to recommend it to others. So it was upsetting to be treated so poorly.
Other than poor management the food was fantastic as always.
Just ok. Waited 45min for a reserved table, and ended up at at what felt like a makeshift 3-top. The food was very good, and our water was very sweet. But it was very noisy, that seemed like a long wait for a reservation, and there was nowhere my party could sit together while waiting to be seated. While the food was good, it was not enough to make up for the rest.
UNBELIEVABLE.... We had reservations 2 hours before a concert at Benaroya Hall. We were seated 20 minutes late.... we ordered a cocktail and dinner right away. Our meals NEVER CAME!... we saw the server running about, but he never spoke to us.... We decided we had to leave. On our way out the door, the server ran up and gave us the bagged food, AND A BILL FOR just over $100.00!!!... No apology from the management.... Nothing! I work at the concert hall... I can’t recommend Wild Ginger anymore!
One of my favorite places to eat downtown, especially at lunch time. Quick service and easy reservations on Open Table.
Lovely food and very attentive staff in spacious and gracious building. Worth a visit. Great cocktails!
Great food! The duck, scallops, and salads were especially incredible.
The lettuce wraps are a must have, loved them. We had the ahi and the sea bass. I love seared ahi, but the bass was far superior. The sea bass was the best I've ever had! I will be back!
Service was terrible. Long delays, wrong drinks brought, wrong food. Took 10 min to get water
The food was predictably wonderful, and we experienced terrific service, from checkin to final good-byes.
Beautiful space. Incredible food. Really friendly staff. Unfortunately, my food was not piping hot, but I ate it anyway bcuz I was so hungry. They offered to remake it but I said no. Had Hoisin sauce and cognac marinated lamb chops. 3 small, perfect amount, plus szechuan green beans and brown rice. SOOOO good! Also hot tea. $56 not incl tip. I would go back.
We asked the chef to choose a menu for our party of 7 to share, family style. OMG... they nailed it! Fantastic food just kept coming, and coming, and coming... We left stuffed and happy.
Great service and food. Only issue was positive one - the vegetable curry for one was enough for 2-3 people. Needs choice of portion size if possible!!
One of our favorite restaurants in Seattle. Always consistently good, we never hesitate to take visitors to Seattle to Wild Ginger! We eat here at least once a week and we always find new favorites to try, although the duck and the lettuce cups are always on our table. Great for family style dining so one can try it all!
Excellent food — those lettuce cups!!
We were seated in the main area right as you come in, and found it to be pretty breezy. Next time, we will request an area in the room by the windows to the South, as the ambience of our seats didn’t match the special feeling of the food.
Amazing service! Even the bus boy was friendly and full of smiles!
Brought 7 friends to one of my favorite Seattle restaurants after a 4-hour baseball game at freezing cold Safeco Field! We had a reservation for 2 weeks in advance but were seated by the front door and felt the chilling draft every single time the door opened! We had to wear our coats to stay warm - after 4.5 hours in the cold BEFORE dinner.
But the real hitch came when the waiter informed us that they shellfish-free entree we ordered due to severe allergy concerns did, in fact, contain traces of shellfish. Only problem? The information came AFTER one of my guests began eating it. Needless to say, I will NEVER trust a “special order” at Wild Ginger again. No offer to remove entree from bill or provide other credit.
Visit was a COMPLETE disappointment.
We loved Wild Ginger! The menu was eclectic and full of choices! Wait staff were amiable and courteous, and the wine guru selected a lovely Pinot Grigio to accompany our meal. From beginning to end it was a wonderful dinner.
The food was to die for. Simply fantastic.
Food was well prepared and excellent as always. Service was excellent as well. We had a wonderful time.
So great to know that even after all these years, Wild Ginger does not disappoint. We had a wonderful dinner with great service. Our waiter, Tanner was engaging but gave us space to enjoy our drinks and dine and converse. A fabulous evening celebration.
All dishes were excellent--Siam lettuce cup, fragrant duck, spicy noodles, bok choy. Service prompt & efficient. We were initially seated at a small wall table on the main floor, but asked to be moved and wound up at a mezzanine table that was fine. Even on a busy Friday, Wild Ginger always tries to accommodate.
Everything was excellent. Waiter forgot to take our coupon for a free appetizer and we got charged. Hopefully they will honor it if we go in the future.
Our family gathering at your establishment was enjoyed by all and the food was most delicious in a very comfortable surrounding. We would consider dinner again on our next visit to beautiful Seattle.
The side order of green beans was delicious, but overpriced (really, $13 for a small plate of beans?). My martini was a bit watery - obviously shaken with ice too long. Otherwise, the food was very good.
A customer service issue:
When initially we were taken to our table, I asked the waiter if we could fold my wife's wheelchair and leave it by the wall near our table after she transferred to a regular chair (there was plenty of room). He said he would take it elsewhere but bring it back when we were ready to leave. We had a small backpack hanging behind the chair's seatback, which contained only a lap blanket, and he said he would take the backpack with the chair. After we paid the check, that waiter, who was not our server, was nowhere to be seen. I asked our server about the chair; he had to search for it - and the backpack was not with the chair. He asked the hostess at the entrance counter about the backpack, and she finally found it in a completely separate location from the chair.
Outstanding service and menu. Ordered the duck and lamb chops. Incredible. A little pricey but worth the cost.
Something went wrong and wait for food was excessively long. Everyone knew. No offer for even slightest discount on anything. Food was very good.
The best service I have ever had. The server was beyond knowledgeable in regards to food and pairings with wine and surprisingly beer!
Some of the menu items have really gone downhill in the last couple years. I ordered the 7 Flavor Beef which used to be tender, rare, delicately flavored, bite sized pieces of beef, but are now thin, tough, well done strips of a cheap cut of beef heavily coated with a thick, sticky sauce. This is the second time I’ve been disappointed when retrying an old favorite. Too bad such a fine restaurant is going this way.
The duck was fantastic!
Great scene for informal dining among friends. Food portions are larger than table could handle do it was a bit of chaos. But worth it. All tasty and superb value wines too. Third visit this week!
Servers too busy to have eye contact or check in. Beans....never came. I did ask for a second glass of wine since they weren’t going to offer. I have always loved the food at WG but quality service is a huge part of my dining expectations. Not a WG focus. But hey, place is booked and we weren’t high on the priority list. Most engagement we got was they brought the check. We laughed it all off and will consider options. Service service service
This restaurant was probably in it’s prime 10-20 years ago. When you walk in to the huge dining area, packed with people, you wonder how they can provide high quality
Asian food? The answer soon became clear, they can’t. Service was slow and uncertain, but, more importantly, the food was not good. The lobster/shrimp dumpling soup and the duck were good. The shrimp were covered with a thick coating, much like a corn dog, and very greasy. The string beans were equally greasy and limp from being over cooked. The place was packed, a tribute to this restaurants history. Unfortunately, mediocrity would be a compliment. I am certain there are much better Asian restaurants in Seattle.
The food, the WINE!!, and the service were all top notch. Thanks for a wonderful evening celebrating our coworkers impromptu 30th birthday party!
