Only flaw is that it was overbooked. We had an 8 o clock reservation, arrived 7:55 and got seated 8:30. Food is amazing and service is perfect as always. Don’t forget to try the Thai Style Chicken
Superb lunch in every way: food, ambiance, service.. one of new favorite places in London. I will return.
Excellent food although we had to ask the two dishes to be warmed as they were just too cool to enjoy. The service was not as good as usual perhaps because we were seated in the ground floor rather than the basement and the staff seemed to have a lot to contend with.
Quality is down in all area , service and food. A shadow of the past
I would have rated Y 2 1/2 stars, but that's not available. Y was highly recommended by a couple of friends of mine who dined there last year. I made a reservation for 12:30 at the bar. I arrived at 12 PM just when they opened and they were able to accommodate me despite my early arrival. They suggested a table instead of the bar. I agreed, but in retrospect would've preferred the upstairs bar. They sat me downstairs in the basement. It took 10 or 15 minutes for another table to be seated in the basement along with me. I should have insisted on an upstairs table. With regard to the food, I have had better Asian food from local takeout restaurants. The prawn dumpling-like dish was very tasty, but the prawn tales were buried inside and it was difficult to eat the prawns without chomping on the tails. The Kung Pao Chicken was very sweet and some of the chicken pieces had bits of gristle or cartilage. I finished with some chicken dumplings and like the KPC, the dumplings also had bits of gristle or cartilage. I didn't finish the dumplings. The downstairs location is dark and they play some very loud 90s hipster type music.
Always a pleasure. Staff were brilliant as always
Very delicious food. Quick and friendly service. Cocktails are great. Location is very nice. But still a bit too expensive for what you get.
As amazing as ever. We love Yauatcha!
Amazing Dim Sums
Love the Turnip cake - my favorite
Always finish with a macaroon :-)
The food is beyond overrated!
We received a dirty plate to eat in...when we addressed the issue to the waiter, she didnt apologise...just brought another plate, luckily clean this time.
The AC was turned on to such extent that my hair was blowing. I asked to be lowered or at least pointed into other direction, of course it didnt happen.
Under no circumstances i would ever recommend this place to someone unless i hate him/her deeply!
Great place for an informal quality lunch. Great cocktails and desserts too :)
Both the food selection and quality has gone down considerably in the last few years. For the money, there are definitely better adian fusion restaurants in London.
The noodles were our favorite bite of this place. Definitely worth the wait (they came out way after the rest of our dishes made it out.)
Great food and much better service than their Houston branch! No hassles and great Malbec.
Food was great and excellent value. Ordered the prix fixed menu and could not finish it - it was so much food.
Very good food but with dim sum you could always do with a slightly larger table and more space between you and your neighbours so you can talk.
I thought the service was very pleasant but a bit slow.
Price point is only fair. It is not exactly good value and if there are two people why give three pieces per portion?? Come on, this is basic.
Overall very enjoyable food but a few tweaks would make it perfect.
energetic is not a noise level, loud is!
also a little AC would be appreciated,
food wise, the beef was not great but beside that everything was amazing
We come for years and were never disappointed. Wonderful food, friendly service, cool ambiance and despite the Michelin star still affordable. We will be back!
I really loved the resteraunt, was a good atmosphere, good staff. When we arrived 2 fish were dead in the tank however were removed quickly. However if 2 fish have died recently there may be an issue with the tank? That should be looked into other than that the mean was very nice, usually when in a restraunt the vodka and tonic is brought separately and tonic is poured in front of you (I guess this is so you know the spirit is in there) this didn’t happen in the resteraunt however this wasn’t an issue for me and I really enjoyed the food
Food was nothing special. A bit boring!
This would have been 5 stars but the service was a little chaotic, we also had around a 30 minute delay on arrival even though we had booked for a particular time.
I have visited Yauatcha Soho in several occasions and I’m never disappointed. The food is wonderful with excellent service from all the very friendly and professional staff. The Sommelier was on point and as soon as my glass was running low it was topped up. Wonderfil experience all round that I would not hesitate to recommend.
Amazing experience! Ambience is great and menu has a variety of options! Food was great and presentation was on point! Highly recommended
This has been one of our favourite restaurants for a while now. Unfortunately our latest experience was extremely poor. We had dinner for 3 people and chose the tasting menu. The restaurant however, decided to deliver food quantity for 2 people. The result was that even though we spent £60 per head, we were left hungry. As an example - the crispy duck was 1 piece for 3 people .... Furthermore we ordered gin and tonic for drinks .... the waiter made it all doubles ... resulting in a highly inflated bill (read tip) at the end. Spending £300 for dinner and walking away unsatisfied was really the worst experience ever in a London restaurant so far. Believe this place will not see us again. Hakasan here we come ....
I wouldn't recommend for heavy pregnancy women to the restaurant. as I send a request before I booked that I oneedcomfortable seat seems the receptionist doesn't care. we sat in the basement in front of the kitchen with a big fan blown my face. I had to asked a staff to move me to another table instead. we are not really happy with the service as we paid. I rather than go to china town to pay less money or prefer to Hakkasan with a better service. the food always good no doubt.
Those who have a wheat intolerance be aware!!!
All sauces and dim sum contain wheat so the options are limited to plain rice and sauce veggies if you’re a vegetarian/vegan.
The manager tried to be accommodating but maybe they should consider designing menus that don’t contain wheat.
Top notch! My favourite place to eat in London. The dim sums are out of this world. Love the place!❤️
Waited 2 hours for our reservation. Was given free drinks at the bar while waiting. Eventually had our meal which was great. 4/5
Very nice restaurant. From outside it looks like a cake shop. Food is very good, delicate and everything has its own flavour. Service is amazing. Maybe a little overpriced but I’d really like to go back again. It worth it!
Service was terrible. They were arrogant, rude and made the whole meal feel rushed. If the table isn’t ready when we arrive then they shouldn’t be rushing us through our meal to meet the next booking. Just disappointing for what is not a cheap meal!
Always fantastic food and service
Amazing service, really lovely staff and delicious food.
Our first server was very bad and the Ground Floor was extremely noisy. Then we asked to move to Basement (though hot cause the AC was not functioning), it was a much more pleasant meal.
Our second server was much better, and the Basement is much quieter, allowing us to enjoy the food, ambience and music.
The dim sum was awesome. The experience of having lunch on the lower floor was not great. No AC and it was baking hot. Many guest were in t shirt and shorts. I suppose that works.
We are normally very big fans of Yauatcha and make sure to dine there at least once every time we visit London. As we trust the quality and taste of the food so much that we had invited important guests to dine with us on Saturday, June 1st. We were seated at the lower ground, which is normally not a problem, however it was so extremely hot that the entire dining experience got affected. It is already a dark and loud place, and the extreme heat did not help make the ambiamce better. Just like serving a good quality wine at a wrong temperature would ruin its taste..
Love this place, always a favourite- thankyou!
Disappointingly our table was upstairs which is basically furnished as a cafe and the room was unbelievably hot, which almost overshadowed the wonderful food. I would only visit again if able to sit downstairs in the proper restaurant and with air conditioning.
Excellent food and front of house service. Other than a small hiccup with a drinks order which took 30 minutes to arrive despite asking on three occasions, I could not fault it. Would return for the dim sum alone!
