My wife and I both had a risotto dish. Her’s was the veggie version and was bland. Mine was the seafood version and seafood didn’t taste fresh.

Ambience - odd music selection not especially conducive to a date night atmosphere.

Positive - service was good and everyone was friendly.

I made a reservation through Open Table, and mentioned that it was for my wife’s birthday. I wanted the main dining room, and I wanted the waiter to acknowledge the birthday. We have been there many times before, and this visit was a disappointment for me. A friend asked me if I would recommend, and I did not. I have fined in the front section a few times, but find that it is not intimate, and louder than the dining room. All in all, it was not a positive experience for my wife’s birthday. Not sure I will go back.

We come to Zio Cecio every year for our anniversary and it has always impressed. Chef Cecio cooks everything fresh from scratch and all authentic Sicilian meals and it is absolutely delicious! Wait staff is top notch and the space is very warm, romantic and inviting!

Food was oily.. could not taste the squid ink.. the red sauce was over powering. Our waiter was brand new.. we waited too long for everything. He had to go ask questions to his manager constantly.

The place is nice enough, and the menu offers a variety of choices, but there wasn't much flavor to anything we had--even the salad. Just kind of a bland experience you might expect at The Oliver Garden or something of that order.

It started with me being told I had no reservations and "You must have booked for the wrong day".
Five minutes later I showed him my confirmation and he finally found my reservation. He did apologize but never should have been to quick to blame me.

The ambiance is poor as the inside is FAR to bright and generic. We sat on the patio which was pleasant until they closed the windows and then the outside lights beamed in on us like a spotlight. It was terrible!

Service...at least our waiter was horrible. We were ignored and needed wine, water and bread and NOTHING happened. The waiter for the table next to us went back and forth EIGHT times in the meantime and we had to ask him for our waiter. The restaurant wasn't even half full and there were no groups, so there was no excuse for bad service.

I have no idea how this restaurant gets 5 stars. The food was very good...but given the poor ambiance and bad service, I won't be going back. Too bad because Cafe Italia was incredible in ever way. Best food, service and ambiance ever. This restaurant can't begin to compare.

Calamari mix was very good. The salad was nothing to write home about. We shared the chicken with wild mushrooms and it was FANTASTIC. The desserts were also very good. We ordered the trio - expecting mini desserts but got full portions. The creme brulee was delicious! Cheesecake and tiramisu were also very good but we were stuffed!

When we arrived and indicated that we had a reservation, we were just told to pick a table fast because it was about to get very crowded. So much for ambiance. I was surprised that the wine list on the website is different from the one they give you at the restaurant. I had picked out a wine for my guest that wasn't on the menu. Also, the price of a Negroni was higher than on the website. When I pointed this out, the waiter just said, yes, the website menu wasn't current. He was a polite fellow and did a dutiful job serving us. The Carpaccio Monza was excellent and my wife was pleased with her salad. But the waiter only brought out three small slivers of bread to enjoy with them. (We had to ask for more.) The pasta was disappointing in a few respects. The portion size was stingy (the plate circumference was large, but the pasta was placed in a little depression in the center). The tomato sauce in both entrees was drab and uninspired. I don't like spicy, but I do expect a distinctive taste and texture. It didn't seem worth the price: my order was $14.50 for a dollop of pasta. We finished the meal with tiramisu. It was excellent: light and creamy, with a chocolate-coffee infusion. With drinks, pasta, and tiramisu, the meal came to over $100 with tip. Overall, the meal was passable, but I wouldn't spend over $100 to come again.

Adore this cozy, rustic Italian spot on Lover’s. The food is always fresh and fantastic, the service is spectacular, crowd is lovely, and the wine list is one of my favorites to explore. From the fresh daily specials to the regular menu items, this is a solid Italian spot that never ceases to create a delightful experience.

We had a wonderful meal. It was not a busy evening so the service was very attentive.
Our waiter offered good suggestions . We often visit the Dallas area and have tried most of the well reviewed Italian restaurants...this was by far the best. The presentation , quality, seasonings we very authentic and reminiscent of meals that we have had in Italy. I would give the chef an A+

GREAT restaurant. Don't judge a book by it's cover. The outside is unassuming, but the food and service is amazing. The wine selection is fantastic. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, and the staff suggested an alternative which was even better. The server was extremely knowledgeable. I will go back.

Have eaten at Zio's several times, but have found nothing special, but keep returning hoping something might pop, but no luck so far. This past weekend, when we walked in the smell was overpowering like sewer back up and the excuse was (hot and rainy) but unsuitable for a fine dinning experience we expected. Service was okay, but again nothing special. Attitude starts at the top and work needs to be done to improve overall experience. Thanks or asking
