We had a lovely anniversary dinner at Chapeau. From the first steps into the restaurant, we were greeted warmly and felt truly welcome. Wish we got the name of the gentleman who greeted us! It truly felt like family! The place was packed and because of one party of 6, very loud, but we were seated in the far corner, probably the best table in the place for conversation. Our server- again, didn’t get her name, also lovely. We chose the 3 course dinner at $75 per person. You can order anything on the menu for each course. We had the mesclun salads, my husband had the duck special. I had the branzino. Both excellent - my one suggestion was too many capers- easily removed. We each also had a house cocktail prior to our salads. For dessert, husband had the floating island; I had the warm blueberry with ice cream. Service was well paced, maybe a bit slow to get started and a break between cocktails and salads. We were not in a rush, so it was fine. This was our first visit to Chapeau. As we were leaving we got a warm congratulations (again) - in fact everyone serving us congratulated us on our 44 year anniversary! And a Gallic hug and two cheek kiss! I think it says a lot that everyone on the staff looked very happy! That is not always the case! And we have traveled to Paris and the French countryside. Not always greeted with warmth. So thank you to everyone at Chapeau for delicious meal and a great memory!! The Tuhtans

Our last meal was excellent as always. The leeks are a must, and the mushroom fricassee, french onion soup, and salmon were all excellent. One of our favorite places for a casual meal of excellent quality and great service.
