Best Italian Restaurants in Houghton-Le-Spring

As always, the food, drinks, service & ambience where outstanding

There were three of us, one had Mushroom Risotto with additional fried prawns (not on the menu but we were easily accommodated), one had vegetable Risotto with fried prawns and the third had linguine with chilli, lemon and prawns. All dishes were delicious and light and all the prawns were beautifully cooked. Desserts were tiramisu, Creme brulee and a chocolate dessert, all delicious.

I had an excellent experience at Bistro Italiano. I went by myself on a Saturday night at around 8pm so it was quite busy and had an energetic atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The service was reasonably efficient given the amount of customers. I ordered a glass of their house Rosé, the gnocchi dish for my main and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious and the portions were admirable. I recommend this spot for a romantic date night, a catch up with friends and for celebrations. I would definitely return if I visit Durham again. Grazie!
