- MMichaelMontreal / Quebec •1 review5.0Dined 6 days agoWe celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. We were warmly greeted and we were served by Rafael. The service was exceptional from the wine selection to the recommendations of the food to the attention paid by all staff to our needs. This is by far a five star plus plus plus restaurant. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern elegance and comfort, featuring high ceilings, warm globe pendant lighting, and refined, contemporary decor. It is incredibly upscale but still feels inviting. The menu was a brilliant showcase of technique, presentation, and seasonal ingredients. Here is a breakdown of the highlights from my visit: The Starters: The meal began with a beautifully crafted, bite-sized tartlet that perfectly set the stage for the courses to come. This was followed by a luxurious foie gras terrine served alongside a vibrant fruit preserve, pickled onions, and perfectly crisp toasts. The balance of the rich terrine with the sweet and acidic accents was spot on. The Main Course: The absolute standout was an immaculately cooked, medium-rare cut of red meat, plated with an incredibly deep, rich jus. The earthy accompaniments—including wild mushrooms, perfectly roasted cabbage, and seasonal spring fiddlehead ferns—tied the whole plate together into a hearty yet highly refined dish. Desserts & Petit Fours: To finish, we were served a stunning, visually delicate dessert featuring a flawless quenelle of ice cream resting alongside airy microwave sponge cake and crisp meringues, all beautifully garnished with edible pansies. The meal officially concluded with elegant, dark chocolate bites coated in fine nonpareils, providing a perfect, not-too-sweet finale. The service was attentive, seamless, and completely matched the high caliber of the food. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience some of the absolute best gastronomy Montreal has to offer.More infoRestaurant Toque!$$$$• Quebec• Old Montreal•4.8
