Thai food has not only great flavor but it’s full of memories and history of Thailand. Each family has their unique flavors, we enjoy our family cooking first in our lives. One of my partners said “ my mom always cooks Pad see-iew with sweet and salty flavors but I ended up with adding chili flakes just to spice it up “ There are many layers of Thai cuisine - it’s flavorful, good presentation and appealing to the eyes and its aromas. Perhaps the best dish to explain the flavor and meaning of Thai cuisine is “Miang-kum”, covering all the taste corners of salty, sour, sweet, spicy, bitter and buttery. “Tha Phraya” started from group of Thai restauranteur and chef who love and admire the food from our motherland.“Tha Phraya” focuses on ingredients. From the minute we stepped into UpThai to check in, to the friendliness of the staff, the menu recommendations and the authenticity of the food, the incredible flavor on all dishes we enjoyed to the time we spent without rush - an experience I can only recommend when in the city. I have been a customer of UpThai for a few years whenever I come to town and the consistency is yet another reason to recommend it. The team cares, the food is amazing and options are plenty. All at a decent price. Go team UpThai!

Casual environment with fine dining experience. Duck larb was delicious with fantastic flavors and a nice spicy heat (recommend adding side of stick rice). Tom yum soup was savory and comforting with nice sized prawns. Water spinach was a flavorful green side to add to the meal. Warm coconut pudding dessert was a great way to end dinner. Entrees portions are shareable/family style. Attentive and friendly staff. Recommend reservations to ensure seating.

In my opinion, this is the most delicious thai food in the upper east side. i live in this neighborhood and eat thai regularly; we have many options and this is the best of them. It's slightly more expensive but worth it.
