Conchy Joe’s: Born in the Bahamas, raised in Jensen Beach. Since 1979, we’ve been serving up Bahamian-inspired seafood, tropical drinks, and good vibes on the Indian River. What began as a laid-back spot with two bars and a chickee hut is now a full-on waterfront destination - complete with two more bars, dockside seating, a firepit, and cornhole. We visited on June 2 around 6:30. We sat outdoors with a view of the water. The evening was overcast and it wasn't exceptionally warm. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. He helped me decide on which fish special would be right for me. I opted for the Swordfish with asparagus and mashed potatoes and my husband had the coconut fried shrimp. Both dishes were excellent, but I was a bit disappointed in the size of the fish and the serving of asparagus. For the price, I thought it was on the small. I think I had a total of 4 skinny asparagus spears and I would guess around 4 ounces of Swordfish. My husband's plate was overflowing with shrimp and plantains, with rice and black beans on the side. I ate slowly but he still finished way before me. At the end of the meal, our server asked if we would like dessert. My husband told him no because we had birthday cake at home and it was my birthday. The server left and came back with a delicious piece of orange cake with a candle. Such a nice touch. We celebrated my 60th birthday there with a big gathering in the separate dining area. This meal brought back so many happy memories of that occasion. We will return for non-birthday celebrations.

Elizabeth and I were very excited to open our restaurant in Downtown Stuart. After years of visiting our parents our hearts led us back here each time we considered a different location. Our son Taylor (our Executive Chef) and I, both have a culinary education and all three of us are extremely passionate about quality food,drinks and hospitality. We thoroughly enjoy taking great care of our guests. “the Gafford” is named after my grandparents who taught us how to enjoy life, have fun and laugh (especially at ourselves). My grandfather was in the Air Force and hospitality business all of his life and taught me so much about business, cooking and hospitality. I can remember when I was young visiting my grandparents on their farm. My grandfather used to teach me how to grill. My favorite dish to cook together was a giant Ribeye steak. On our menu, that is our signature item and we call it “the Gafford.” Welcome to the Gafford where casual meets upscale.

The Stuart Boathouse is a local's favorite waterfront dining location. The beautifully restored 1920's Restaurant is located directly on the river in downtown Stuart next to the band shell. Specializing in fresh caught seafood, oysters, sushi, as well as many favorites for the land lovers. Accompany dinner with a great bottle from our wine list or one of our signature cocktails. The Stuart Boathouse is great for special occasions or for just hanging out with some friends. The Stuart Boathouse is open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner.

All tables have views of the river and we will always do our best to accommodate requests. Outside tables and window tables can not be guaranteed. We look forward to seeing you!

What an amazing restaurant! I’m so glad we stumbled upon it when researching places to eat in the area. We were a half hour early for our reservation yet they sat us immediately honoring the reservation request to sit at the windows. Although we aren’t picky eaters we did request some changes on the menu…. The cranberry and walnut salad we switched goat cheese for the blue cheese, the coconut crusted mahi we asked for the fish to be black grouper and the stuffed shrimp we swapped the tropical rice for the mashed potatoes. All requests were made and the only price adjustment was for the black grouper which we expected. The food was amazing and came out at a great pace. We also had some oysters on the half shell that were so fresh and delicious. We can’t recommend this restaurant enough. The staff especially our waitress Emily were so kind and friendly. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.
