Best Fine Dining Restaurants in Little Italy / University Village

Le Colonial should be on everyone’s list of restaurants to try in Chicago. You can ask to sit in the window enclosed front room where the conversation is energetic or the bar area where it is darker and more subdued or in one of the special dining rooms. Regardless of where you sit, you can expect a great meal and excellent service. For those who had the opportunity to dine in the old LC location, you will be pleased with the new one. Although nothing can replace the old, the new is exquisite. Maître d’ Rafael, with his 30 years of experience at the old and the new, is the best. I urge everyone to meet and talk with him. He runs a tight ship dedicated to excellent service and food. Our waiter, Juan, was attentive and made good recommendations. LC has a dress code which just ads to the ambience and makes it a pleasure not to look at baseball caps, sleeveless shirts, shorts and flip flops.
