Owned by Jonathan & Joanne Tindall since 2002, this cosy inn is also a hotel, serving as a brilliant base for exploring the Peak District, whether it be a visit to Chatsworth House or a walk along Froggatt Edge. Boasting an AA Rosette, the food at The Chequers ranges from the classic fish and chips and burgers to the seasonally-changing dishes such as lamb rump, seabass and vegetable pithivier. The proper steak and ale pie, however, is the fan favourite, and is even available to take home! Throughout the summer, the large woodland garden is the perfect place for a refreshing drink or a bite to eat, whereas in the winter, the two log fires make the pub warming and comfortable, making The Chequers Inn the perfect place to visit any time of year.
