- DDavidHouston •19 reviews5.0Dined on May 18, 2026Wow!! We have been to many restaurants in New Orleans, but Arnaud's Jazz Bistro beat them all. We were celebrating our 53rd anniversary and EVERY Arnaud person who came to our table first congratulated us on our anniversary. In addition we were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate. When I objected to the cost of their "premium" Sazerac I was graciously informed by the waiter that he would provide a Sazerac less the premium liquors at a less than premium price, and yes, it was excellent. We started with a shared Shrimp Arnaud (best ever) and I had a bowl of turtle soup. The turtle soup at Brennan's is excellent but Arnaud's edged it out slightly. Main courses were the Pompano David and the Arnaud's Crab Cakes. The pompano was cooked to perfection with the skin on at the bottom which added to the excellent flavor. Crab cakes like the turtle soup just edged out the excellent ones at Brennan's. We also had a side of the Soufflé Potatoes which are unique and a real treat. For dessert we were given a complimentary anniversary small cake, but also had a delicious crème brûlée. The Dixie trio was excellent - I was greatly pleased they played and sang the Audubon Zoo song at our table which I happily joined in on a few verses. A note here - when they came to our table they first congratulated us on our anniversary. All in all the entire dining experience couldn't have been better for an anniversary dinner. The food was over the top good; the service was very personable, thorough, attentive but never rushed; the music gave that wonderful New Orleans ambiance; prices were a great value (nice touches like a $3 cup of coffee), and the facility is old school elegant. We certainly look forward to our next visit!!More infoArnaud's Jazz Bistro$$$$• Creole• French Quarter•4.7
