Tellers serves authentic interpretations of regional Italian cuisine. Traditional methods of Italian cooking and the philosophy of using seasonal ingredients with integrity form the basis of the house made pastas, wood oven-baked Neapolitan pizzas, and locally sourced vegetables and steaks cooked over a wood burning grill. Tellers’ extensive Italian wine list highlights the breadth and diversity of Italy’s wine growing regions and unique varietals. Tellers is located in the historic First National Bank gallery amongst the original teller booths, which have been meticulously restored. James Beard Award-winning Chef Andrew Black makes his way back to Skirvin Hotel to open his newest restaurant concept, Perle Mesta. The restaurant will be his first concept to open since winning a James Beard award as 2023’s Best Chef Southwest and will be located on the first floor of the historic Skirvin Hotel (One Park Avenue, Oklahoma City). Perle Mesta will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner service and the cuisine will reflect Chef Black’s continued exploration of what he calls “possibility cuisine,” a concept he attributes to his style of cooking that explores and embraces the endless possibilities of ingredients, flavors, techniques, and cultural influences. In this context, possibility cuisine involves chefs pushing the boundaries of traditional cooking and experimenting with unconventional ingredients, fusion cuisine, molecular gastronomy, or avant-garde techniques. It may involve a sense of creativity, innovation, and openness to exploring new culinary horizons.

The five course Midsummer Rose dinner featuring Peach as the star ingredient was incredible. Each plate was thoughtfully created and integrated peaches in subtle and flavorful ways. I was impressed with how delicious and different each course was. The chef did an outstanding job! The wine pairing along with the descriptions were great. The wait staff was friendly, responsive and gracious. I will definitely attend this type of event again.

The food was very good. The sea bass was very tasty. We ordered a side of lemon Brussels sprouts and they were delicious. The background techno music was very annoying. There was live music in the bar across the hotel lobby and the two music sources made me want to eat quickly and find a quiet space.

Great experience. Server excellent and knowledgeable. Food was great. Ribeyes were perfect. Shrimp cocktail was awesome. Cocktail sauce was tasty. Our table was rather dark. A little more lighting would have been nice.
