Even though Post is a new name for most of us, it has been an important part of South Hamilton history since 1924. The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. At Post, which at the time was known as “the brick block building”, letters were piled on a table, and a bell was rung to let residents know that they could come and retrieve their mail. Keeping with that tradition, guests of Post will have an opportunity to “Ring the Bell”, which signifies that they have bought a beer for our hard working kitchen and waitstaff. Whether you are coming in to dine with family and friends, grabbing a drink and an appetizer, or picking up takeout on the way home, Post is here for you – rain or shine.

    We had a wonderful dining experience at Luna Mare. Our server, Seamus, was attentive without being overbearing and offered excellent recommendations for our tapas selections. The calamari was perfectly prepared, and the homemade hummus made a delicious start to the meal. We also thoroughly enjoyed the chicken souvlaki served with warm pita bread. To finish, we shared the baklava, which was made even more special with a birthday candle in honor of the celebration. Overall, it was an outstanding meal paired with exceptional service.

    It’s great to see the menu being tweaked from week to week. We started with clam chowder, caprese salad, and pear and pecan salad. All delicious and seasoned well. Next we all ordered the Beef Wellington. This is the best dish on Saturday menu. Perfectly cooked, puffed pastry very flaky and duxelle adds that rich earthy flavor. If you haven’t tried this dish it is a must. For desert we had the sticky toffee soufflé and beignets. Fabulous dinner, can’t wait to go back.

    nice dinner for 6 of us. most had salads with salmon which was a nice portion and everyone enjoyed! One had the "firkin chicken" which is always good (I usually add bacon) I had the lamb lollypops which were a bit well done but still really good! Love the potatoes that come with it too! We started with the meatball "egg roll" which we all enjoyed! 2 orders were good for the 6 of us.

    We only visit 15 Walnut periodically, but think we'll make it a more regular stop. There are new additions on the menu that are excellent. The waitstaff is well trained, and we want to give a particular shout-out to Katie - she gave us excellent suggestions and her attentiveness was spot-on (not intrusive, but helpful). We'll return and recommend that others check out this neighborhood gem!
