The Derby is more than a restaurant. Established in 1922, it has been family owned and operated since 1951. It is a grand museum showcasing some of horse racing’s greatest moments.     We had a good experience for belated Mother's Day. Our server was gracious, very helpful with dish and choice descriptors. The food was delicious. The drinks were okay, and the indoor seating and ambiance was good for conversation. Overall, a really good experience.

    I enjoyed the happy hour last month, so I invited my best friend and her fiancé to brunch with my husband and me. The service was great. We had the French Toast, Chilaquiles, and Burger. All of the food was so well done and there are menu items I plan to try next time. The menu is kind of limited; more options that include proteins (eggs) in the future would be nice. The coffee was hot and flavorful. There was a small bridal shower a few tables over, which added good energy to the morning. As usual, the views of the Santa Anita Racetrack are impressive.
