Having sat in the restaurant seating area a couple of times, this was my first experience dining at the bar. And I loved it. It's obviously better suited to a couple of diners, rather than a larger group, and is a special and intimate way to share food. A dozen mixed oysters, the octopus carpaccio, the baked scallops in the shell, with the roe (which is so refreshing to see), and the dover sole, pan fried meuniere, (I like it still on the bone, but they will de-bone it exquisitely for you if you prefer). The bottle of Rioja to 'wash it down' was superb, as was the pavlova to end what was an absolutely delightful triumph of food, company, service, and ambience. What a beautiful place to eat.

Excellent food and service in a cool space. The bread and the cocktails were also brilliant.

We went for brunch before visiting the Hockney Exhibition. The menu was excellent as was the food. The staff were friendly and polite. Only criticism was we had to ask for a credit card receipt and were told they don’t issue them which we found most odd
