Our inspiration for the name of our new signature restaurant comes from a chaptik story passed down through the generations of our First Nations people of the Okanagan.The Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation approach to food is based on the creation stories of their culture and we’ve taken their stories as the inspiration for the name of our restaurant: “The Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry,” based on the story of the Four Food Chiefs.The Four Food Chiefs are central: Skimxist Black Bear (chief of animals, representing self-sacrifice, leadership, giving), Ntytikxw Chinook Salmon (water creatures, perseverance, hard work), Speetlum Bitterroot (plants below the round, relationships to the land) and Seeya Saskatoon Berry (plants above ground, growth, strength, community) are legendary and the elements of indigenous cuisine.

    We had not been to Penticton in some time. Travelled from Kelowna for one of the best dining experiences in a very long time. Everything was PERFECT! I had the Rasta Pasta and I added the chicken and prawns - Oh my God.... I have now words and possibly shed a tear while eating this dish. I mentioned to the server to inform whoever makes their culinary decisions.... DONT CHANGE A THING!!!! We WILL be back...very soon.

    My wife and I have gone to a few of the Long table events at Miradoro. The food is always so good and well thought out for the wine pairings they bring in. It’s a family style eating so you get to meet other people you may not ever meet other wise. Just a great experience. We will go again and again.

    It was a quiet evening indoors but we had an early reservation and there were several parties outside. The service was super friendly and professional. The last time we dined at Kismet, it was still called Masala so this was our first experience of the rebrand. We aaabsolutely loved the food! The samosas are so tasty and the dahl and saag are both so delicious. Spice level was very pleasant but we had to try the chef’s hot sauce and ended up using all of it! It was so tasty, the perfect spice that didn’t change the overall flavours of the dishes. We can’t wait to go back to revisit those samosas and try the sablefish curry 🤤 OH and they had a nice selection of non alcoholic drinks, and of course their signature Karma red is a match made in heaven with the food.

    Very nice restaurant. Beautiful view of the lake. We sat outside for drinks, inside for dinner. Both were lovely. Food was excellent. All staff were outstanding. We will be back when in the area!
