Johnson Restaurants

Although a post office was opened there in the late 1800s, Johnson, Arkansas, was not incorporated until the early 1960s. Deep in the Ozark Mountains, this small town is located on a plateau with natural springs and valleys all around. With many establishments located inside bed and breakfasts or attached to historic inns, the restaurants in Johnson have a special atmosphere. Local chefs serve "Ozark Plateau Cuisine," and at least one of Johnson’s chefs gives the local food a twist by using a French technique and adding a taste of Manhattan while preparing the dishes.
